It was a nice family getaway. The 4th bedroom wasn't really a "bedroom".It was a futon bed. The fooseball game was a miniature one. The house has a spooky vibe with all the extra closets that were locked but hey, it's Halloween Watch out for the gigantic teddy bear 🤣 we squeezed it to make sure there wasn't someone in it for you already. The one thing we came there for was the hot tub and that didn't disappoint, even tho we were in there for only 2hrs the whole trip overall, it was a great place to stay.
Everything was as stated in the description, very short drive distance to the village. And even shorter drive or walk to the lake :)

The home was clean the area was quiet it was a beautiful experience for my family and I and we cant wait to come back. The host was readily avaliable if we needed anything. There was also near by markets and ski rental stores.
House was clean and check in was very smooth. Front door deadbolt did not lock but, we still felt safe at the property. We did have an unexpected guest show up the day we were to check out at 8:30am. This was a little uncomfortable for my group. My girls loved all the little touches of bears all over the house and the giant teddy bear in the game room. I will definitely keep this home on out list for another trip.

Thank you for your feedback! We’re glad you found the home clean and that check-in was smooth. We apologize for the issue with the deadbolt and for the unexpected visitor on the morning of your departure, as we understand how uncomfortable that must have been. We’ll review both matters with our team to ensure a better experience for future guests. We’re delighted your girls enjoyed the bear-themed touches and giant teddy bear in the game room! Thank you for considering us for a future trip—we’d love to host you again. 😊🏡🐻
Very cozy and clean. The only thing I can add is that the couch was very uncomfortable! Other than that, it was the perfect little cabin for a short stay.
Nice place clean , but the foosball table was for kids and the front and back deck could use some more serious work. The screws are all above board, making it a tripping hazard or an injury. but besides that we had a great time we like to place and we would definitely stay again.
We had a wonderful time at this cabin. It was clean and bigger than I expected. A remarkable price and worth the trip. We were disappointed that the Hot tub as advertised was not working thus I would’ve given this 5 stars. But we were able to check out late and that was deeply appreciated. Overall I would rebook.

Thank you for your kind review! We're so glad you had a wonderful time and found the cabin clean and spacious. We apologize for the hot tub not being operational during your stay and appreciate your understanding. We're happy the late check-out helped make your experience better. We’d love to welcome you back for another stay and ensure everything is perfect next time!
We really enjoyed our stay! The only downside, was the lack of fans for the upstairs. Having an 8-month-old and a 3-year-old, plus my husband and I… we didn’t get much sleep due to the heat upstairs. Other than that, the kitchen was stocked with appliances and kitchen necessities that we need to cook every night. My toddler cried when we left, he loved it so much & so did we!
Nice basic home with great backyard if there's snow.
This home needs some updates but it's fine for a short stay. We were looking forward to sledding in the backyard, which would have been perfect because of the slope and space, but there wasn't much snow. I like that there are 3 bedrooms upstairs and one with a futon/couch downstairs. The hot tub was lovely. No bubbles but great temp for a cold night. The neighborhood is very nice.

Hello Shari, Thank you for taking the time to write us a review. We are so happy to hear that this property Forest Trail Retreat was all you expected in a home and that you and your group got to enjoy their stay. Thank you for your input we will pass on this information. Come back soon, Destination Big Bear
The location is terrific although there is no direct lake access, the house is surrounded by private properties with no lake access. The marina is walking distance but there is no fishing/lake access there either. We enjoyed out stay here but some things could use some TLC: the downstairs bathroom tub would not drain, the upstairs shower head is extremely loose, the shower glass door was hard to open, the game room tv remotes wouldn’t work and some of the outlets didn’t work or the extension cords didn’t work so we weren’t able to use the ceiling fan in the upstairs room. There’s also a random basketball hoop in the backyard. We did appreciate how close to town we were and the neighborhood. The rooms were spacious and the bedding was clean. The hot tub was clean as well! The slight issues didn’t affect our stay one bit, I just don’t think they’re being reported to the office.
The property was clean and the perfect size for our family of 7. A 5 minute walk to Halloway’s Marina where the free shuttle service to The Village has a pickup/drop off spot (highly suggest using this service to get around). We stayed in August and like any mountain home, there is no AC so it did get hot during the day in the summer but there were fans in every room and once the sun set the cooler temps outside cooled the home pretty quickly. We would definitely stay again.
The team forget send me the information for payment, after them forget it send me the information about the home, the locker code for the key, the WiFi password
We enjoyed our time hanging out at the house. We walked around the neighborhood which provided nice views near water. The location is close to the main strip in town so it's easy to get everywhere. We just wished the hot tub was working.
