We had a wonderful stay! The house was very charming and had everything we needed. The communication with the host was good and the location is excellent!! We highly recommend it!
Beautiful property. Challenging car access, so rent a small car. Worth the extra effort, though, as the house is beautiful, functions well and has a spectacular view from every river-facing window.
Four girlfriends enjoyed this beautiful home in Beynac. Easy access to down, kayaking on the river, restaurants and other local towns. Thank you for a memorable time.
The home is amazing. Aside from the modern updates, fantastic kitchen and bathrooms, you could be living in various centuries of history.
Recommended without reservation.
The only additional comment is that if walking is hard for you then this home may be challenging as it is four stories and located on a hill.
A beautiful 4 level home located within a few minutes walk to the town offices, stores, restaurants and boating departure. The small town has a genuine, medieval feel. No AC, but well ventilated by windows with a wonderful view of the Dordogne. Well equipped, as described, and a detailed, bilingual (French/English) resource book for the house and surrounding area is provided. Rooms are populated with many artistic pieces; we moved some to allow for surface space. Things to note, however: unloading on site is by accessing a narrow, uphill road with no turn-around; paid daily parking (5E/day) is available nearby. The walk to the Chateau is steep.
Everything inside the accommodation was very good, however, the upstairs bathroom had a terrible sewer odour, the left sink water overflow drained into the drawer underneath and the right hand sink did not drain properly. The shower door did not close sufficiently to prevent the water from flowing onto the bathroom floor. The kitchen was very well equipped and visitors had to rely on Nespresso as there was no drip coffeemaker. The mattresses and pillows were not up to four star standard in either bedrooom. The third bedroom was not occupied. The house itself was located on the side of the cliff with the Beynac Castle directly above. The road to the house is the width of one car, uphill, limited if any turnaround area, requires parking in a parking lot a long way away from the accommodation. It is not for those who have any issues with walking up hills on cobblestones carrying luggage or groceries or packages. We were four seniors and this method of reaching the accommodation is not for those with any mobility issues of any kind. The Beynac et Cazenac area is beautiful. We watched from our windows hot air balloons over the Dordogne River, beautiful castles and kayakers. It was our base for a week and we travelled many miles and visited most of the tourist sites that were recommended. We wish we had more time to explore, it is one of the most beautiful areas of France.

Dear Mrs Graham
I am first sorry that the house has not meet your expectations. To answer your remarks indeed, the house is set up the hill (this is why it enjoys this beautiful view!) and indeed you can not park right at the property as the lanes of the medieval village of Beynac can't allow this. Hoiwever this is clearly stated into the advert and so i don't really understand why this came as a surprise during your stay. You can however come to the property to put your syuitcases and groceries and then reverse to go down the hill. But here again this is not a boulevard but medieval lanes.
In regards of the bad smelt there were a problem with the plug not beeing correctly put back after the cleaning. A simple call during your staf or email or text (we are availabel 7/7) and e will have sort it out in 5 minutes. But we can not correct issues if we are not aware about during your stay. The pillows are new ones and quality ones
I however thank you to have underlined the good equipment of the kitchen and how the dordogne is beautiful.
