🌵 That Desert House - Hot Tub, lots of Privacy, High Design & Incredible Desert Views! 🌵

This is our personal home away from the hustle of big city living and we're so happy to share our slice of desert heaven with you. Located magical and remote Wonder Valley, That Desert House mixes fun design details in the tranquility of the Mojave desert.

We invite you to stay at our home and look forward to sharing our relaxing and meditative space with you and your family and friends that become family.

We have hosted guests traveling from all over the world and our hope is you'll be able to gather friends & family, get cozy in our home and enjoy the beautiful Mojave Desert and Joshua Tree National Park.

That Desert House is a 3 bedroom/2 bathroom 1400 sq ft property—great for friends, couples or a small family. We have comfortable couches and even more comfortable beds inside in addition to two cozy seating arrangements (an area for two and an area for four) outside for colorful sunsets, sunrises and star gazing.

We invite you and your guests will check-in, kickback, unplug and start slowing down to enjoy desert life. We look forward to sharing the magic of the desert with you soon!

• RENTAL AGREEMENT
There will be a rental agreement sent out that will need a signature to complete the reservation

• AC/HEAT
The house is cooled by central air with vents in each room. These are used for both heating and cooling and should help keep you cozy all year round.

• WIFI
This property does NOT have wifi

• FIREPLACE
The fireplace is not able to be used. Due to the location and a current fire ban there is a strict no outside or inside wood/ charcoal burning fire policy. If it is discovered that you have started an outside fire, using fireworks or other open fire means your rental agreement will be terminated and you will be asked to leave.

• GUESTS
You are not permitted to have any guests on the property beyond those included in your rental agreement unless you request and receive permission from us. That includes day guests and over night guests.

• IDENTITY VERIFICATION
You will receive a text or email from Guest Ranger that will ask you to verify your identity and submit a picture of a government issued ID and a selfie. This information will be used to verify that the booking guest matches the credit card used and to help reduce any issues with identity theft. This process is mandatory to complete the booking. The data is protected in a hash-encrypted vault following data security standards including GDPR. Data-input in the vault is encrypted in a two-way function where information is scrambled using an encryption key and unscrambled later using a decryption key. On top of that, we use hashing to add an extra layer of security using a one-way function where a unique message digest is generated from an input file or a string of text. No keys are used.

We absolutely loved this place! The view of the night sky from the hot tub is breath-taking with no light pollution because of how remote we were. We had plenty of space and everything we needed. The beds were incredibly comfortable, too!

The Desert house is incredibly charming, and the communication and advice from the host made our family's stay all more comforting. The unobstucted mountain view from the living room was like living in a dream. Definitely follow the host's instructions when getting there, the last 2 miles of dirt road are well maintained, don't try to follow google maps which can suggest roads not yet built. Once there, it's a quiet calm paradise away from busy cities.

Off the beaten path for sure, but very entertaining for the kids. Wi-fi would be nice but it allowed us to play some games with the kids and just hang out. The hot tub under the stars is awesome. A pair of scissors in the kitchen could help with some food prep. Lastly, Pioneertown was very cool, but the swap meet is a thing of the past. All we got were strange looks driving up to the gate! HaUpdates to you itinerary ideas would be good.

Fantastic getaway!

This place was fantastic! The decor of the house was so cute. Everything was clean and very comfortable. The jacuzzi was great for star gazing. It's far enough to feel remote but still close to all the stores and restaurants you might want. Would definitely come back here to unplug.

Beautiful desert getaway

Beautiful space, comfy mattresses, and perfect getaway to disconnect. There are no blackout curtains so bring eye masks. Two of three of the bed frames were broken and I think the housing company could have been better with their customer service regarding that issue.

A quiet and bare bones vacation rental

The property was very clean and beautifully quiet. The sunrises and sunsets are amazing and unobstructed. We were a bit disappointed in the layout (the primary bedroom required a walk through the living area and kitchen to reach a shared bathroom, as example) and the outdoor seating wasn't very comfortable. Perhaps better to spend time in this isolated location as a couple rather than with friends.

Perfect stay!

Wow! We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay. My partner and I stayed for a week and definitely did not want to leave. The table on the patio is perfect for an early morning coffee and cool breezy dinners. It’s clean and comfortable. I loved that it was not right in town but we could drive 10 minutes and be near the park, all the shops, and restaurants. Thanks for everything!

Amazing place in the middle of desert with no neighbor close to you. we arrived late in the evening and once my friends and i stepped in the property, from the very first moment we got the vibe of the place. it was so relaxing with no TV, no WIFI and meditating in absolute silence was exactly what we went for. i'm so happy with my decision to go to this place and strongly recommend this amazing relaxing place to the people who want to escape from city craziness for a while.

Cutest Remote Desert Getaway

This was an amazing place to stay for me and 3 of my girlfriends. Remote location (far from other neighbors), A/C was great, place was clean, check-in was easy. - Quick responses from the managers. - Beware of bugs (large and small) that may fly or crawl in at night. None of us were bit or stung, and it made things entertaining haha. - Be sure to download the provided guide book and check-in instructions before your arrival. There are different directions on the check-in instructions and Google Maps will guide you through a different route with sandy roads that may require 4WD. - As the description states, there's no wifi, and the service is spotty in general. Would totally stay here again!

We thoroughly enjoyed our 4 night stay at That Desert House. They had beautiful decor, thoughtful supplies (coffee, filters, and a water filter pitcher as well as ice cube trays. It was located out in the desert which was so freeing, wild, and beautiful. The hot tub was AWESOME. The house was mostly clean (no dishwasher so the dishes are washed by the guests and apparently not check because there were a few dirty ones in the drawer). They could really use a new living room rug for that was pretty filthy looking and feeling however in general everything was great. There are two bathrooms in the back shower did not get hot so we just used the one main one. The water pressure was so so but it could have been worse. The rental company did not have a way to text them with concerns, just call, so we never really contacted them with our concerns. It was fine. The washer and dryer was really nice too. The house is off a dirt road but very doable for any car.

Perfect place to disconnect.

We loved stargazing from the jacuzzi and watching the sunrise from bed through the floor to ceiling windows. Awesome remote location! My only suggestion would be to edit the directions to say the property is 0.6 miles west of Lear on Gemini (instead of .6 miles— we thought it said 6 miles and drove too far before coming back). We would definitely stay here again.
