More than just a place to sleep! Relax and enjoy incredible Lake Michigan sunsets from living areas, two bedrooms, and the deck of this spacious, beautifully decorated beach house. Open floor plan includes a great room with eat-in kitchen, dining table, and snack table, large sitting area with panoramic views throughout. There is a separate TV room with TV & satellite. The four large bedrooms (three upstairs, one downstairs) include a Master suite with master bath and walk-in shower, a beautiful romantic lakeside bedroom with balcony, a rustic bedroom complete with twig furnishings, and a cozy downstairs bedroom with its own bath.
Enjoy the lake from the balcony or deck, or step out to the sandy beach for swimming, sunning, beach combing or kayaking.
Take in wonderful local golf courses or drive just three miles to Mackinaw City where you can cross the Mackinac Bridge to the town of St. Ignace, take the ferry to Mackinac Island, enjoy summer concerts, visit the shops, restaurants or historic sites, or play putt-putt.
Home Details: Remodeled, beautiful four-bedroom home. The house is fully furnished and tastefully decorated. It provides many areas to gather as well as quiet corners to escape. The main living area and eat-in kitchen are open with tiled floors. There is seating for lounging and eating. This area offers sweeping views of Lake Michigan. The TV room is carpeted with two sofas, chairs and a coffee table, books and games. The TV is a wall-mounted flat panel with basic satellite.
All bedrooms are carpeted and beautifully furnished. The spacious master suite offers views overlooking the beach and lake, and opens to the upstairs deck which is perfect for enjoying the view and a good book. The master bath is tiled with large walk-in shower, double vanity and separate commode area. Two upstairs guest rooms share a large guest bath with dual vanity. One opens to the upstairs deck. The downstairs bedroom offers a cozy retreat down its own hall with it's own bath.
Location, Location, Location: This two-story house is located on a beautiful sandy strip of Lake Michigan shoreline, in a private community at the edge of Wilderness State Park. The beach is easily accessible with a short boardwalk and path leading to the smooth shore area. Here you can relax in the beach chairs, walk the shoreline, swim, play or kayak (two single, one double available). After a beautiful sunset you're ready to stargaze.
Just three miles south of Mackinaw City, The Mackinac Bridge, and Ferry Lines to Mackinac Island. You can cross the nearly five-mile suspension bridge to Michigan's Upper Peninsula and the town of St. Ignace. Plan a day trip, and drive up to Whitefish Point and the Shipwreck Museum where you can learn about the wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald, stopping at Tahquamenon Falls on your way. Or see the Soo Locks and visit Canada, -passports required.
Beautiful Golf Courses surround the area. Some of our favorites are the nearby Mackinaw Club, Hidden River Golf and Casting Club, Little Traverse Bay, and the courses of Boyne Highlands.
Home Away from Home: More than just a place to sleep. We have furnished this as if it were our permanent home, with beautiful, solid furnishings and simple decor.
Though there are many sights to see in the area, you may never want to leave. This house is furnished and supplied so that you have all you need to relax and enjoy your vacation from the time you arrive. In addition to the amenities mentioned, you'll find all the comforts of home. Morning coffee takes on a whole new meaning when you're watching the lake come to life. Evening meals taste better with the sun setting on the lake as you sit around the large picnic table. There is even a small, flat lawn area for playing, right off the deck.
There is a double kayak and two single kayaks with paddles and life jackets for your use. You'll find toys, coolers and tote bags in the 'summer closet.' The deck is large and seats 8-10 people in addition to the large picnic table in the lower deck/grilling area.

About the host

We live in Georgia, but have vacationed in Northern Michigan for over forty years. We love the beautiful, clear summer days and the crisp, cool nights. For us there is no place that compares to Northern Michigan!
Why they chose this property
After vacationing in Northern Michigan for many years, we began searching for a home to buy. We looked in many areas and communities, for several summers, and didn't really even consider Mackinaw City,
... until we looked at this home, and it's location. It fit our needs wonderfully with the soft, sandy shore, clear shallow water, friendly neighbors, and the convenience to town with the feeling of being far removed.
The home we purchased was a small ranch. We remodeled by opening up and extending where we could, and adding a second floor with spacious bedrooms and an airy deck. We were able to keep a portion of the original cabin, by utilizing the knotty pine living room as the separate den / tv room.
The location and the open-plan home are perfect for our family vacations, golf trips, and girls outings.

What makes this property unique
We are located in a small bay, just around the point from the Mackinaw Bridge. The sheltered bay and shallow water make our beaches sandy, and help the water warm just a little more than the deeper, colder waters of Lake Michigan. The lake and our shoreline are different every day. We love the glass-like, still water often seen in the early morning, and we love the crashing waves and surf that a blustery day can bring. Being inside as a storm rolls in is a treat as well. However, nothing beats the sunsets from our deck as a long day comes to an end.
