About this property

Peacefull house on the water

This house is our peaceful oasis. We enjoy our morning coffee with the sunrise over the water. It has a newly renovated kitchen, bathroom, and living area. It is located in a small coastal Maine town but is just minutes away from shopping and restaurants. The views from the coastline and the local islands are beautiful. Boating and scenic hiking trails are easily accessible and fun.

The house is built on a private road with only 8 other neighbors, most of whom are year round residents that enjoy the quiet life of Mid-coast Maine

The long road leading from the highway to the cottage was delightful for walking. The kitchen was very well stocked. The stairs from the second floor bedrooms to the first floor were a little narrow and not having the banister run all the way to the top caused us to be very cautious when descending. Lighting in the living room was poor but the dining room was a saving grace.

Great location for family vacation!

Home was great and as advertised for our family of 6…washer/dryer, fire pit, front porch, and access to water were bonuses. Well located geographically for fresh lobster, pocket beaches, or morning coffee/breakfast in Thomaston. Would rent again!

The property was beautiful. It looks as if the owner is doing some renovations on the house. The house was very clean and well stocked with good quality cookware which is important when you are cooking meals. The house had a bit of a musty odor but there was a dehumidifier running in the basement. The dock needed some attention. My grandson wanted to do some fishing but we weren’t sure how stable it was. The view of the River from the house was beautiful. We enjoyed a campfire each evening. The campfire area was very nice and there was wood for us to use. The beds were very comfortable. The rooms were a nice size. The owners were very helpful and quick to respond with any questions we had. Overall it is a very nice property and we would certainly go back again if we were in the area. size.

Perfect Thanksgiving Getaway

This cozy home had everything we needed for our Thanksgiving getaway. It's beautifully updated, warm, comfortable, and centrally located to what we wanted to do. It's located in a quiet, riverfront area for a peaceful stay. Only the turkeys, squirrels, and an occasional lobster boat to get your attention. Just perfect. I highly recommend this property.

Great stay in Maine

Our family thoroughly enjoyed at stay at this wonderful property. The home was perfect for the 5 of us and we enjoyed how well equipped the house was for us to cook a few meals and enjoy some very relaxing mornings and evenings. The view over the water was so relaxing and I enjoyed seeing the sunrises from the porch with my cup of coffee.

Peaceful get-away

Just enjoy a lovely week at this location. Very well and thoughtfully stocked. Clean and comfortable. Easy check in and responsive owner. This is in a quiet area of Maine with access to lovely trails and peaceful settings, but also has easy access to Rockland and Camden. We enjoyed our stay.

Cushing cottage

My family of three so enjoyed our stay at Jonathan's cottage nestled in the wood with a lovely view of the St. George River. We hosted lobster dinner (fresh off the boat in Friendship!) for our Maine relatives on the covered porch. The house was so very well stocked with everything we needed to cook and make cocktails. If you want quiet, this is the place! Nothing but the sound of the sea birds and the lobsterman checking their traps. Great location for visiting the Camden area. I recommend the Rockland Cafe, Camden Cone Ice Cream, Antiques at 10 Mechanic and Keag store for crab rolls. Thank you again for our wonderful Maine vacation.

The feeling of a cabin in the woods but better!

We had the privilege to rent this home for the month of July. It was just the two of us and a perfect spot. This home is equipped with everything you could possibly need and has a fabulous view of the St. George River to the east. We couldn’t take advantage of the cute fire pit due to a lot of rain but we managed to entertain ourselves! The owners were very responsive to questions and the reservation/check-in process was smooth. Loved having a full size washer and dryer. The master bed was real comfy. The bathroom and kitchen are updated. While it did not bother us be aware that this property is on a dirt/gravel road and a bit of a hike into town of Thomaston. Also there is one bath. The master is conveniently on first floor but 2 other bedrooms are upstairs. We have rented on the midcoast for a number of years and this place was a real find. Thanks for a lovely month!

Family-friendly Beautiful Riverside Home

We had the pleasure of staying at this property for the month of July this summer. It was a perfect location to enjoy many of our favorite Midcoast places as it is convenient to Rockland, Thomaston, Friendship, and more. The water view from the porch is peaceful and lovely, and we enjoyed eating outside for most of our meals. We have three young children who loved roaming the property, playing in the large front yard, riding their bikes on the gravel road, and eating tons of s’mores at the awesome fire pit. (There is a drop off to the water so it does require some monitoring for toddlers on the move). The house is one of the best stocked homes we have been in and we’ve rented in the area for 5 years. The kitchen is well equipped for those who like cooking and there’s an impressive board game collection. The hosts were very easy to communicate with and responsive throughout our long stay. This home is a rare find—charming but functional with an off the beaten path but convenient location! We would definitely return!

Lobster festival week

The location is very remote and quiet. The home has new renovations of the kitchen and bathroom, and the pantry was very thoughtfully stocked. Our hosts were incredibly accessible and kind. Our weather was beautiful, although it was quite warm for sleeping. The fire pit was a big hit with our family. It is located on a tidal river, however there is not water access currently, nor is this a swimming or kayaking location as the water is far from the actual shore for the majority of the time. The neighboring towns of Rockland and Camden were quaint. Camden is one of the most beautiful towns we have ever visited. It is about 2 hours to Acadia and the trip was completely worth it. The park is breathtaking! Lobster festival was quite a tourist event, and lobster is a prevailing theme for the area.

An absolute gem

My husband and I try to get to the mid coast area of Maine every year. We always rent from Vrbo (formerly HoneAway) and always have a great experience. We have rented 5 properties in Maine on previous occasions and while we were very happy and pleased with them—this one by far was my favorite. The location of the property was perfect for our explorations and daily travels. The view from the house overlooking the water was beautiful and relaxing. The house itself was absolutely perfect. Tastefully decorated and fully stocked with everything you could possibly need. The bed in the master is super comfy and everything was spotless. The kitchen is gorgeous, fully stocked and a pleasure to cook in. The owners are super responsive to all questions/concerns and made sure we were comfortable and happy. I am definitely going to try to return to this property next year—we loved everything about it!!!

A very special spot!

This peaceful house on the water is just that, and inside it is comfortable and well appointed, a great spot for relaxing. The house is full of thoughtful touches - stayed here over Christmas with my husband and brother and the homeowners put up lovely holiday decorations. This is a true gem even in the winter time - we spent much of our stay lounging on the comfy living room furniture enjoying the fireplace and the incredible view of the water and the trees.

Post Labor Day a getaway

Wonderful Location to spend post Labor Day week. Beautiful view of river master bedroom comfortable and overall clean. Enjoyed using the wood insert fireplace and eating meals on the back patio porch. Charming Maine house, with updated amenities. Would recommend for future visits! Note: stairs & upstair bedrooms are wall to wall carpeting if sensitive to that
