In the centre of Venezia, in the district San Polo, in a sunny position, excellent location: right in the centre but still quiet, directly by the canal. Heating available only from 15.Oct. - 15.Apr.. Shop, grocery 50 m, restaurant 100 m, bus stop "Piazzale Roma" 900 m, railway station "Santa Lucia" 500 m, ferry "Vaporetto stop San Tomà" 300 m. The Best

I have been visiting Venice almost yearly since 2007. The neighborhood is perfect and conveniently sited for exploring with the vaporetto stop located close by.

This was our third visit to Al Fogher and the only down side was having to leave! Next year we hope to stay a full week. Extremely warm and comfortable apartment, ideally situated.

Bel emplacement mais bruyant

Attention, pas d'arrivée tardive, pas de keybox, il faut le savoir. L'appartement est situé sous un restaurant et c'est très très bruyant. Malgré avoir lu les avis, seul un avis en parlait mais pour nous ça a été très difficile de dormir. L'appartement est situé en face d'une belle basilique, c'est le seul point fort. Appartement grand, propre et fonctionnel. Remise des clés le lendemain matin à 9h avec un monsieur très sympathique. Je déconseille l'endroit pour ceux qui cherchent un endroit calme à l'abris du bruit.

Sehr schöne Wohnung, gute Ausstattung, tolle Lage. Sig. Franco, der sich um die Wohnung kümmert, ist ein sehr freundlicher, recht gut deutsch sprechender Herr. Wohnung hat zwei Nachteile; - kein Balkon (ist zu verschmerzen) - in unmittelbarer Nähe Bar mit Außenbetrieb, sehr laut bis in die frühen Morgenstunden. Mieter sollten lärmunempfindlich sein.

Die Wohnung liegt in einem lebhaften Quartier. Interessante Sehenswürdigkeiten liegen sehr nah. Leider sind zwei Bars direkt nebenan. Dadurch ist es in der Nacht extrem laut.

I stayed at Al Fogher with my husband and teenage son and enjoyed the view to the dei Frari square and church. It is very well located, within a nice area and easy reach to Rialto Bridge, the fish market, museums and shops. XXX was very friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay here again.

Perfect place for our stay!

We stayed 4 nights. The host, Franco was prompt in meeting us and introducing the apartment. It is 1 floor up with a direct view out onto the Campo dei Frari from 3 rooms! Beautiful, spacious apartment. Centrally located. 10 minute walk from the bus or train station. Lots of cafes, shops, restaurants nearby. Great kitchen. Dishwasher and clothes washer. Large drying rack. It felt like living as a Venetian!

Wir haben uns wie zu Hause gefühlt in dieser schönen und gepflegten Wohnung. Die Aussicht auf die grosse Piazza mit der Kirche Santa Maria Gloriosa dei Frari haben wir besonders genossen. Wir waren mittendrin und hatten trotzdem unsere Ruhe.

We stayed here (husband 19 yr old son and I) for 4 nights in September, Franco met us and explained everything in apartment and getting around venice. The streets are like a maze but there are sign posts directing you to the water bus and st marks square. The location is brilliant 15 or so mins walk to st marks square. Lots of shops restaurants cafes, we bought a 2 day ticket for the water bus, hopped on and off to the other islands. That was well worth doing if your there for 2 or 3 days. Would recommend this apartment.

Excellent location with everything we needed.

The apartment was spotlessly clean, warm and cosy. It was very tastefully appointed and surprisingly spacious as the photos don’t do it justice. I would definitely book again. My only complaint is with Homeaway who stated on their invoice that the local tax we would pay would be €2 per person per night. It was €3, which was embarrassing for Franco the key holder and annoying for us.

Great place to stay in Venice

El Fogher was the perfect place for our 5 night stay in Venice. Accommodations were as shown in the listing, overlooking a small canal and right across from the Basilica dei Frari (definitely worth a visit inside). We were welcomed by Franco the manager who was just wonderful and made us so welcome. The apartment is very central and we were able to walk to most places we wanted to visit. There is a supermarket just around the corner and several restaurants and bars close by. We did buy a 2 day pass on the Vaparetto (water buses) and had a lot of fun using them to go all around Venice and over to the islands of Murano and Burano (worth a visit for sure). The people in Venice were wonderful and exploring all the cafes and bars was delightful - try the cichetti (small snacks) and half liter of vino rosso for an inexpensive treat sitting outside and people watching. We splurged on lunch at The Florian restaurant in St Marks Square with the orchestra playing - check the menu prices and surcharges before committing to your order!
