Overall the cabin was very cozy and felt secluded enough. The shower was warm and had plenty of pressure. The bed frame is close to needing replacing but still comfortable. The fireplaces worked well and the jacuzzi tub was relaxing. The hot tub was warm and relaxing as well. The only thing I would say could be done a bit better is the dusting in hard to reach areas like corners, rafters, blinds etc. However that did not make such an impact that I felt uncomfortable with it. Overall great cabin!
Cabin was in good condition. Comfortable bed, comfortable couch. The couch is different than in the pictures, it was more comfortable than we expected. Beautiful mountain atmosphere, private without being too far from civilization. Only one complaint would be the cookware. There’s not a not to choose from, and it needs updated. Overall we had a really nice time. Thank you.
Found 2 pair of panties and a pair of underwear behind things

Polly, I am glad you enjoyed your stay at Northern Lites. It is a great cabin!! I am sorry about the items you found and I have spoken with the cleaner to make sure that doesn't happen again. I hope you will be able to stay with us again soon!! Thx
Thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub and heart shaped bathtub; definitely the highlight of the property. The fireplace is on a timer and only runs for 60 mins. Overall, decent place.
We loved the cabin! Had more than enough room for the two of us, very clean and tidy, the owners made it easy to settle in and feel at home! Only Issue was the hot tubs didn't seem to keep water very hot and maybe over chlorinated.
Our stay at Northern Lites was very peaceful and enjoyable. The little cottage cabin was nestled against a hill in a nice area. The cabin was clean and well kept. The cabin is a short walk to the catch and release pond. The only negative was we had to back up the steep hill to access the cabin because the drive is too narrow for a full size truck to turn around. Overall, I would recommend Northern Lites to a friend.
Generally it was great, just a few things, coffee maker still had old grounds which had mold growing in it, grill was nasty and there was garbage in the garbage can when we arrived

Everything was good overall. There was something we thought was paint on the front of the cabinets when we got there. We realized it was pancake mix from the last guest. There was also a small hole that looked like a mouse was living in.There were ice bags on the ground over the deck that was left from previous guests as well.
This is great secluded cabin for couples or anyone looking to unwind for a few days. Amenities are completely adequate. The driveway getting up to the cabin is a little steep, I’m not sure it could be done in a sedan so keep that in mind. The cabin is situated in the woods so it is very buggy in the summertime… if you are nervous around spiders (or flying insects) I would avoid as my girlfriend and I walked through a spider web leaving the cabin every morning. We didn’t use the provided hot tub for this reason, but this wasn’t a dealbreaker. Cleaning could have been better around windowsills (bugs, spider webs, etc.) but otherwise we had a very pleasant stay.
Property was just as advertised and shown in pictures - it's a cozy, private cabin with plenty of room for two. We LOVED sitting on the secluded deck for morning coffee & in the evenings after hiking all day. Be sure to bring your own soap & toilet paper as there's a very limited supply provided in the cabin.
Overall experience was good. Staff was friendly. Only criticism was cabin was dusty especially the HVAC intake…electronic fireplace in jacuzzi would not operate, but we didn’t use it anyway. Stove drip pans were rusty. Could not find a broom to sweep the leaves that blew into the unit. None of this is a deal-breaker, just observations. On a plus side, we were visited by a mama bear and her two cubs. That was a highlight of our trip…

Cute cabin
We enjoyed our stay at the cabin, it’s small but cozy. There are a couple of things that are worth mentioning. We decided not to use the AC and breathe in natural air during our stay, so we opened the windows and were disappointed to see how dirty the window sills were, full of dead bugs and spider webs, like they hadn’t been cleaned in a long time. One of the window sills even had multiple fingernails laying around. On top of that, the screens were poorly placed and secured on the windows, like they weren’t the exact right size for them.
During our stay, the plot behind this cabin was cleared thoroughly (and loudly), likely for a new cabin. They worked well into the evening and it was very loud and dusty, even with the windows closed. Just something to consider that, if the plot was cleared for a new cabin, there will likely be construction and noise pollution.
The rules for leaving the cabin stated that guests run the dishwasher with the dirty dishes, but there was no dishwasher soap in the cabin (and we were not willing to buy dishwasher soap just for the trip, so we hand washed everything). Would have been nice to know to bring a few dishwasher pods from home.
It was nice to have a washing machine in the cabin! However, the closet and floor where the machines were was really dirty, with old laundry and dust and who knows what. The worst part was the lint catcher in the dryer, it looked like it hadn’t been emptied in months of drying, the lint was a few inches thick. Not only is this gross, it is a huge fire hazard, in a wooden cabin, in a forest.
The hot tub was nice and well taken care of; we really enjoyed it. The location of the cabin is great, close to town and about 10-15 minutes from the National park, about thirty minutes from Gatlinburg.
