About this property
Twin Bear II - Enjoy Fall in the Smokies! EV Charging is Here for Guests!
Welcome to Twin Bear II, a cozy one bedroom, 1-1/2 bath cabin nestled on the side of Bluff Mountain, about 5 miles, or 11 to 12 minutes, from downtown Pigeon Forge, 6 miles (about 15 minutes) from The Island, and 8 miles from Dollywood. It's located away from the high traffic areas, while still convenient to everything you would want to visit in the area. Twin Bear I (www.vrbo.com/2187876) is right next door, if friends want to travel together, yet each have their own space. There is parking for 3 cars, and an Level 2 EV charging port (220V/50 amp) is new for 2025! Please note that we do not supply the charging cord, so you'll have to bring yours.
As soon as you enter Twin Bear II, you'll be amazed at how beautiful, spacious and comfortable this cabin is. This is a true log cabin, with chinking between the logs inside and out, giving it a charm and character not found in every cabin. There is a cathedral ceiling in the living room, with plenty of windows, giving the cabin an open, airy feeling.
The main floor has a living room with a stacked stone, wood burning fireplace, which is seasonally available and comfortable seating. Windows on either side of the fireplace and up at loft level bring lots of natural light into the cabin! Cable TV and WiFi are included. The kitchen includes a refrigerator, stove and over stove microwave, and is full of the dishes and cooking necessities to keep you happy through your stay. There's a dining table for 4, perfect for a quick breakfast or a lingering, romantic dinner. The full bath is on this floor, and includes a tub with integrated shower. This cabin also has a washer/dryer, so if you want to do a quick load of laundry, it's very convenient. We do provide a couple of laundry pods, but if you're going to do a lot of laundry, you might want to bring more.
Upstairs, you'll find the loft bedroom with a log cabin style king sized bed, made up with luxurious linens and a warm quilt. Night stands and lamps are provided on either side of the bed; one side also features an alarm clock. On that side, you'll find an outlet extender with 2 USB plugs, making it easy to charge your phones. There is a bright and cheery window at the head of the bed, and the bench at the foot of the bed holds your luggage. Off the bedroom is a newly remodeled half bath, with vanity and toilet, and soft towels. The bedroom is carpeted for warmth.
The second sleeping area is the queen sized sleeper sofa in the living room. Sheets, blankets and pillows for this bed are stored in bins under the bed upstairs, should you wish to use it.
We do have a new, state of the art water filtration system in this cabin, which assures you that you are drinking and bathing in the cleanest possible water, without any of the trace odors sometimes noted in country wells.
There is a very large parking area beside the cabin, suitable for a car or motorcycle trailer, if you're bringing one along. This is a quiet starting point if you want to come for Rod Run, the Smoky Mountain Jeep Invasion, or any of the other special events held throughout the area.
On the covered back deck you'll find seating, along with a private hot tub. It's very secluded and quiet, with a nice wooded view; during the winter and early spring, you can see the mountains through the trees. In the front yard, you'll find a state park style grill and picnic area. A fire pit with Adirondack chairs completes your beautiful surroundings. If you're going to be doing a lot of grilling, grocery stores sell bags of easy light charcoal. We do try to keep wood stocked for the fire pit, but deliveries can be difficult to get. Whaley's down on Waldens Creek Road sells small bundles of firewood, along with some groceries. It's a charming little store.
If you like to ski, check out Ober Gatlinburg in downtown Gatlinburg! Cades Cove is about 30 miles away, so if you're a nature lover or like old historical places, it's a nice way to spend a day. It is an 11 mile loop through a well preserved old settlement, with log homes, barns, and churches, along with an abundance of wildlife. If you're a fisherman, the Pigeon River is about 20 minutes away, and the National Park is about 30 minutes away. You'll have an easy time getting there, because you're starting out away from the traffic in town. Enjoy mountain air on an easy hike along Boulevard Trail or check out Rainbow Falls Trail and be rewarded with a remarkable view of the highest single-drop waterfall in the Smokies.
Some of the other many attractions include: Dollywood, Ripley's Aquarium in Gatlinburg, Tanger Outlet Mall, Great Smoky Mountain National Park. The Biltmore House in Asheville is a nice day trip, as is Harrah's Casino in Cherokee.
This is a great cabin for a romantic getaway; there's lots to do in the area, and it's a nice spot if you just want a little down time. If you have a friend who would like to visit at the same time, Twin Bear I, VRBO # 2187876, is right next door. With an easy walking path between the two, this is a fine place for friends have individual getaways while remaining close! Please note that each cabin has its own individual amenities, so you won't be sharing the firepit or picnic area unless you want to.
A couple of important things to note:
We do not offer refunds due to weather. We would highly recommend trip insurance to protect your vacation.
Rates are subject to change at any time before a reservation is confirmed.
Fireplace is in operation from October 1 to March 31st only. The firepit is available year round.
Please, no smoking, for the health and safety of everyone.
