Great location! Easily fit 12 adults with plenty of eating space and sleep areas. Close walk to the beach and plenty of beach supplies (wagon, chair, toys). We felt very safe in the neighborhood, which was very family-friendly.
It was our first time visiting Michigan City and we loved it! The house was perfect for us and the location near the beach, pool, and tennis courts were awesome! The little ones especially loved the donuts in the morning and I e cream at night!
Our family and extended family has been coming to Beachwalk community for years. This was one of three houses in the community that we rented for the week. This house clearly had the best up keep, had toys for the little people, was clean, was close to the beach and the owner was super polite and responsive to me. This was a fantastic place to stay!
Three generations enjoyed the home. Grateful for the ramp and wagon to move kids and STUFF to and from pool. Beach sunsets, ice cream and day trips to surrounding little towns made this a wonderful vacation.
We traveled as a party of 9! Grandparents, parents, and kiddos of all ages. Location and amenities were fantastic. The house and property were amazing! The beach was fantastic and so easy to get to. 10 out of 10 recommended. We would have loved to stay another week!
We loved the house in Michigan City. It was a cool weather weekend but the walk to the beach was very easy. It rained one day but the house is equipped with a family friendly basement! Jason was very quick to respond to any question we had. Great host!
My family and I spent the weekend here celebrating my mom's 75th b-day. With ages ranging from 2-75 years, I had to make sure the property would be comfortable enough for all and spacious for the teens and kids to run around/hang out. The home was well-stocked with kitchen essentials, rooms were comfortable and the property allowed everyone to have fun for the weekend. Would highly recommend.
We spent a week here with our three adult children, their spouses and our 4 grandchildren ages 5 and under. It was noisy, hectic and there were lots of tears and laughs. There was good space for everyone and we all enjoyed the beach, the pool and other nearby attractions. The house was clean, well stocked and just as advertised. We cooked all our meals at the house and the kitchen was easy to navigate. Would absolutely stay there again.
This house was perfect. We are a group of sisters and sisters-in-law that get together every year for a weekend. This house was close to the beach and the pool. It was clean. The bedrooms were exactly as pictured. Beds were comfortable. Communication was prompt. I really can’t say enough good things about the house and the hosts.
The Shore Thing is a wonderful house. Our trip was a family vacation for grandparents, kids and grandkids, 14 of us in total. The house was very comfortable for us. The grandkids loved the basement family room area. As a seasoned VRBO renter I can say with confidence that this house had the best stocked kitchen of any house we have ever rented. This was huge for us since we had most of our meals at the house. The house was very clean. Our host was wonderful. Excellent communication throughout. We needed some additional bath towels and he responded within minutes and we had the towels delivered within the hour. The house is a short walk to the Lake Michigan beach. It has access to all the Beachwalk amenities, the host provide the wristbands for access, as well as additional parking passes for our extra cars. While the Beachwalk resort can be busy, it never felt intrusive or noisy. The house is very close to the local zoo which our grandkids enjoyed. We enjoyed our stay at the Shore Thing and would gladly stay there again. If your looking for a clean, well stocked home with a great host this is your best choice.

Thank you for the kinds words and detailed review. We are so happy that you and your family had such a great week at Beachwalk and enjoyed the house, the community, and the surrounding area. We hope to host your family again!
We had a wonderful week here. 3-generation party of 12, this home was great for older family members - it has a nice ramp to enter the home, zero-entry shower and spacious kitchen and gathering space on the 1st floor so everyone can hang out together. Great updates to decking and new CARPET on the 2nd and 3rd floor made the home very cozy and enjoyable! Teen boys had a blast in the basement with gaming, mini arcade, and ping pong.
When we arrived trash bins were full and did not get emptied until late Friday. We thought they would return them along house but did not so we moved them before checking out. Parking was pretty tight

Sorry to hear about the garbage; the service was delayed because of the July 4th holiday. We reached out a few times asking how your stay was going and you never responded. If you had let us know we would have corrected these concerns immediately. We offer several ways to contact us and are very responsive whenever our guests need anything.
The property was as good as advertised. The location is perfect being just three houses from the boardwalk to the beach. Getting two wagons full of beach gear and toys to the beach was a breeze! Close proximity to the resort's pool was also a plus for us.The house was clean and orderly upon arrival. The bedroom setae accommodated our family with small children quite well (Two 3 years old, and two 1 year old). The kitchen was well equipped, Having small children, we ate in for most meals and the kids were happy. The supply of linens was good for our group. Our group of eleven tended to gather in the open great room/kitchen area where there was plenty of seating and room for the kiddos to play.I would also like to compliment our host Jason who reached out several times over the week to make sure that our stay was perfect. I highly recommend "Shore Thing" and hope that your family has as much fun as we did!
Extended family coming up for funeral. The location was perfect, easy walk to the boardwalk/beach and close to the pier/Washington Park. The neighborhood is great- parks for the kids, fishing pier on Lake Kai, pool was closed but it looked great, basketball courts, tennis courts- so perfect and fun for the whole family! The house was clean, had everything we need. Plenty of towels which is so nice in a Vrbo! Lots of beds. The only downside was all but one (and that was a half bath) of the bathrooms were only accessible via a bedroom which made it hard for the person on the 3rd floor daybed and for the main floor twin/full bunk room- they only had access to a shower in the basement or through one of the other bedrooms. One added bonus was the house was handicap accessible- we have family that came for dinner one evening who uses a wheelchair and the ramp made it easy for them to enter and the space was easy to move around in. One of the bedrooms/bathrooms is also accessible as is the neighborhood boardwalk to the beach so that is an added bonus for those who need it. Lots of board games and video games for the kids and a ping pong table. Overall a perfect house for who we had on our trip which covered ages 8 to 90!
Our family met here, and we all had a wonderful time. Jason went above and beyond to make it comfortable for us. We could have stayed a month with all of the things to do in the area! Would love to return someday. Highly recommend.
We had the best vacation and cannot wait to come back! The house was perfect (minus no beach towels). The location, the communication with the host and the house itself was top notch. Thank you for sharing your home.
The house is clean and beautiful. Table fit all nine of us and downstairs ping-pong table was a great hit. Close to the walk way to the beach. Went swimming every day. Sandy Beach, warm water. One day of bigger waves, but mostly gentle. Watched beautiful sunsets. Would definitely do this again.
Whether you’re 7 or 77, or somewhere in the between…
Our family ranges in age from 7 to 77, half male / female, and there is something for everyone! A perfect location and one of just a few that are handicap accessible. The screened in front porch is loaded with beach goodies. A well designed kitchen for meal prep and consumption, with a large table for gathering and games greets you as you enter. And things only get better with multiple bedrooms and baths (2 on the main floor) to accommodate all. We hope to return next summer!
We had a wonderful week of celebrating my husband’s birthday with the family. Everybody had a great time. The location was easy to get to and the Beachwalk community was perfect to suit our needs. The house was clean and well equipped. So much activities packed in a week, the lake and beach, pool, tennis, hiking, biking, shopping, kayaking, and of course reading.
Very well appointed house with lots of room. Wonderful memories made. Great location on Beachwalk with easy access to beach and pool/rec complex. Accessibility for our disabled family member was a must and this location did not disappoint.
