The property was nice and as pictured. We spent a relaxing few days and enjoyed the outdoor area. While there we went on a couple hikes and came back to rest. Really enjoyed our stay.
This cabin was cozy and our family had a great time playing in the snow right outside. We had all the amenities we needed and the owner was very responsive to our needs. All in all a great stay!
A beautiful home. All the necessities were provided. My kids wanted to stay longer. It was heaven to my family. It was a cozy place and the floorplan was great.
Very nice, clean cabin, well equipped, nice TV in living area. Place is surrounded by trees, beautiful. Owner very responsive. Everything toen & hiking within 5 min drive. Loved our winter hiking to say "adios" to 2023 & welcome 2024!!!
Minor details can make a trip go from good to great. The minor details put into this listing made it great! The communication and list of things to do/how to care for the property was easy, manageable, and appreciated. Having coffee readily available was a wonderful touch. Also the towels were probably the fluffiest towels I have ever experienced at a rental property. Would reccommend without a doubt. A great weekend away!
Booked this place to spend a nice, quiet, firework free 4th of July weekend with the family and our dog. We needed a stress free place for our pup, who is terrified of fireworks. The cabin is clean and in a secluded area. It's got a A/C unit and fans to cool the place off. The kitchen was stocked with dishes and utensils and spices of all kinds. The free coffee and tea was a plus. We had a few barbecues in the back patio. Its a wonderful area to have dinner in the evening and coffee in the morning. The wildlife was great to listen to and see. ( mostly birds and chipmunks) Everything was perfect for our family weekend. There's even board games. Checking in and out was a breeze. There are steep stairs that go to the front entrance so i wouldn't recommend this place for someone with mobility issues. Other than that, i would stay here again in a heartbeat!
Great stay! Everything we needed was there!
I loved the Nest check-in (we arrived later in the day and didn't have to bother the host with check-in)! Kitchen had everything we needed including a tea kettle as we are huge tea drinkers. The living room is very comfortable. We all were able to sit on a huge couch there!
And the gem of this property is, of course, the patio! I wish the weather was a bit warmer but we spent as much time as we could outside on the patio.
Rob was super fast at communicating and responding to all my questions and dealing with a small bathroom problem!
The only things I would improve is more window coverings on the top floor. It gets really bright early in the morning and we like to sleep in ;)
Overall it was a great stay!
I would definitely stay here again, we had such a great time. The house was very neat and clean, was well equipped with everything you would need. It is
surrounded with trees and very nice decks. The little village has awesome shops and places to eat. Rob the owner was very accommodating with all our needs. Next time I would like to go during spring. Anyone staying there has made a good choice and won’t be disappointed!
This is a lovely home with everything you need to enjoy your stay: plush towels, cotton sheets, kitchen ware, are here to make it easy to enjoy the lovely patio and surrounding neighborhood. We loved the large living room, TV, and wraparound porch for outdoor dining and drinks. Perfect for your morning coffee to watch the mountain jays, grey squirrels, and chipmunks in the trees. Of note, there is some traffic noise as the house is close enough to the road to hear the occasional car. Also there is a steep staircase to the entrance which would not be accessible for some people. Otherwise, this was a lovely stay in a serene setting, very impressive to our guests, and reasonable for Idyllwild!
Hope you enjoyed your stay and come again you were great guests.
About the host
Hosted by Robert and Diana Woodard
Diana and I hope you will enjoy our home as much as we have. Every time we are able to stay at "Casa de los Arboles", House of the Trees, a peace will surround you with the trees and maybe a fuzzy gray squirrel or two. We have enjoyed running 8 marathons, biking on the island of Mallorca, skiing in Canada, back packing on the West Coast Trail on Vancouver Island, the Pacific Crest Trail, traveled through Europe & Mexico and it's Idyllwild-Pine Cove just feels right, just like home!
Why they chose this property
Enjoy your stay, cast your eyes to the stars at night and breathe in the fresh air away from city life! Need I say more just enjoy the fresh air and peacefulness of our home.
What makes this property unique
Mile-high Idyllwild" is our popular southern California mountain resort about one mile (1.6 km) in altitude. It is flanked by two large and one smaller rock formation, Tahquitz Peak (with nearby Lily Rock) and Suicide Rock, which are famous in Southern California rock climbing circles, and Mt Atlas. It currently offers no skiing; thus "the Hill" has been minimally developed over the years and remains a center for hiking, mountain and rock climbing, mountain biking and horseback riding.
