Our Roomie Reunion was so much fun because we found this fantastic home to enjoy during our stay. It large and would fit a large family easily. We had all we needed to cook our meals and have dinner at the dining table. Our rooms were comfortable and we each had a bathroom to ourselves. ( three of us were there)The views of the pond and the llamas across the way made it especially lovely.

Thank you, for your review. It was very sweet of you to not want to say anything in the review as you thought it was problematic. However I always like context, especially for a lower review. I am happy that you messaged me about what was bothering you. We are in the mountains with lots of woods around, a pond in the back and yes, there are garter snakes. I’m sorry this bothered you. They are non-venomous. And there’s really nothing that we can do about the wildlife in the area. We do not have a snake infestation. It is part of the mountain living. We have foxes, raccoons, deer, snakes and at night we often have bears visiting the trashcan. I am very happy that you enjoyed the house otherwise and we would love to have you back. Perfect Home Away from Home in GunnisonWe absolutely loved our stay at West Elk Wilderness Lodge! We were in Gunnison to move our son back to college at Western Colorado University, and this was the perfect home base for our family.The house is beautiful, incredibly comfortable, spacious, and had everything we needed. There was plenty of room for everyone to spread out, but also wonderful spaces for us to gather and spend time together. We especially enjoyed the outdoor space, the peaceful setting, and feeling like we were tucked away in the mountains while still being so convenient to everything in Gunnison.College move-in can be a busy and emotional few days, and having such a comfortable place to come back to at the end of the day made the trip that much better. It truly felt like a home rather than just a rental.The house was clean, well cared for, and exactly what we hoped for. We have a son at Western, so we will be making many more trips to Gunnison over the next few years — and we would absolutely stay here again.Highly recommend West Elk Wilderness Lodge!

The lodge was great. Almost everything we needed was provided, such as cookware and utensils. When we couldn't find trash bags, the owner had someone drop off more ASAP as well as come fix the garbage disposal. Overall, very happy with our stay.

Great Place

We loved everything about this place. The listing was very accurate and the location was great, close to everything and yet off the main roads so no noise, very peaceful. I come back to Gunnison almost every summer and will defiantly rent this VRBO again with my family.

The house was in a great location - close to Gunnison, stores and restaurants, nearby hikes and outdoor activities - but in a quiet area of town. The house was well-stocked and spacious. Our group enjoyed the steam shower, multiple TVs, and radiant-floor heat. The general flow of the house allowed everyone to interact on the main floor at all times, and the pool table was a great added amenity. We would definitely return!

My family had thanksgiving here and it was wonderful!

The kitchen was stocked with everything we could possibly need! We got about 2-3 feet of snow during our stay and the just was extremely responsive with getting a crew to plow us out! We loved the place and made so many memories:)

The cabin was the perfect space for family during a family wedding weekend. It was close to everything. The cabin also was spacious enough for additional family to have a place to hang out and visit in between wedding events. Thanks to a crockpot provided in the kitchen- we were able to go out for a hike and return to homemade chili. The pool table provided hours of fun.

Nice cabin in a small city

This was a nice and cozy cabin right on the edge of Gunnison. There was plenty of room for everyone. We enjoyed playing some pool and hanging out in the living room.

Elk Hunting Base Camp

This property was excellent for our needs. The house was stocked with everything to make our stay cozy and comfortable. The neighborhood was quiet and a convenient distance to town. It was just what we were hoping for.
