About this property
Tofino Waterfront Eco Condo - Waterfront downtown location
Check out our direct website www.bluecrushconcierge.ca for booking + avoiding 3rd party fees. We proudly donate 2% from direct website bookings to local non profit's in Tofino.
~
Tofino's environmentally friendly accommodation, as well as supporting local First Nations, by proudly donating 2% to the local Tla-o-qui-aht Nation's Tribal Parks Allies program. Newly renovated with all natural materials, water based paint & finishes. Next to the downtown core, stunning waterfront view, steps to all amenities, shopping & restaurants. This bright bachelor unit is a great home base to rest and re-charge after exploring the waters, forests or shops.
Tofino Eco Condo has been designed with a small environmental footprint in mind. At 500 square feet, it's a spacious bachelor suite with full kitchen, bath, living and dining area. Where possible, items have been thrifted or found second hand so as to deter from first hand purchasing. Linens are new, recycled microfibre. The propane fireplace has been capped off so we're not promoting fossil fuels. Coffee is purchased from Tofino Coffee, a local roaster. The hand and dish soap is locally made by Tamara at the Hobbyist.
The large screen TV has Telus cable but no Netflix app; bring your HDMI cord to set up!
The bed is a new, Canadian made Endy mattress to ensure optimal comfort on your getaway.
ACCESS
Guest access is by keypad entry, with access to entire apartment. The condo building is right on Tofino's harbour. There are two entrances. The ground floor entrance has a wheelchair friendly ramp and if coming from the upper parking lot, there is a set of stairs.
A cozy balcony with two locally made salvaged cedar Adirondack chairs is available for morning coffee's or late evening drinks & sunsets. The couch pulls out to a queen bed for additional sleeping options.
There is a card operated Laundry Room located on the second floor.
There is one designated parking spot for the condo.
There is direct waterfront access access to a kayak launch, picnic area and local dock from the building.
LOCATION
The Fred Tibbs Waterfront Condo is located in the heart of Tofino looking over First Street Dock, where guests have access to a Kayak launch, picnic area and dock. This allows you to stay parked and stroll through the downtown core of Tofino car free. This amazing property features beautiful views of the ocean inlet harbour and surrounding mountain range. At the base of the complex is a great little shop called Savary Island Pies which is convenient for morning coffees and snacks.
INTERACTION
The condo is self check in and set up for your independent stay. If you have any questions, Blue Crush is available during business hours.
DIRECTIONS
From Vancouver, the first chapter of your drive is to Horseshoe Bay Ferry Terminal. Enjoy the vista views of the ocean before taking the 1.5 hour ferry trip over to Departure Bay Terminal in Nanaimo.
From the sea side city of Nanaimo, take the quick Inland Highway or scenic Old Island highway, along the coast and its small towns, to the turn off for Port Alberni. Drive through Coombs (Goats on a Roof) and Cathedral Forest Provincial Park. Port Alberni resides at the end of a western fjord with many tourist attractions. This is a great location to pick up gas and groceries.
The last chapter of your drive to Tofino will take you on a scenic winding road past Sproat Lake, and Mackenzie lake. Take a right once you get to the Junction for Ucluelet and Tofino, and tune in to Tofino's local radio station. This winding road takes you through Long Beach Provincial park, into the heart of Tofino.
TRANSPORTATION
To get to Tofino from the mainland, you need to take a ferry to Nanaimo (closest) or Victoria. From there, it's a scenic drive. Anywhere from 3 (Nanaimo) to 5 hours (Victoria). You can also fly into the airport with Pacific Coastal Airlines (the flight is stunning and so quick!) or seasonally, take a float plane from the Vancouver harbour downtown to Tofino harbour downtown.
There is a designated pedestrian path we call the MUP (multi use path) which is safe and has two lanes for walkers, bikers, joggers, strollers - you name it!. We encourage you to use it; it's one of the things that makes Tofino unique. The free Shuttle bus runs during the summer months from town to the info centre. There is a city transit service that runs from Tofino to Ucluelet with limited service. There are a couple bike rentals (pedal bike and e-bike). There is also a local rideshare app called Coastal Rides, our version of Uber (download their app). Tofino Taxi is another option (though only one driver/car). For larger groups, there is Tiki Bus + Pacific Rim Navigators that needs to be pre arranged. There is a Budget Rental car service at the Tofino Airport (also needs to be pre-arranged).
Eco Initiatives: Warren has purposefully made a few design + staging choices. Compost, biodegradable garbage liners, eclectic mix of second hand dishware. We hope this adds to your stay!

Why they chose this property
The Fred Tibbs building is perfectly located downtown and on the water. We love walking from the condo just a couple blocks to the best restaurants in town , shops and galleries. The sunset from the dock or the condo itself is epic. If you are a kayaker, you can launch from the unit.
What makes this property unique
The location makes the Fred Tibbs building unique. The rooms are larger than a standard hotel and offer a full kitchen and private bathroom and on top of that, there is shared laundry facilities available.
