Enjoy the best of Tofino at Cedar Shack Cottage, just minutes from the breathtaking shores of Chesterman Beach. With convenient public beach access right across the road, you’re never far from sandy strolls, ocean breezes, and gorgeous sunsets.

This hidden gem is cherished by families and couples alike. Inside, you’ll find two inviting bedrooms with plush queen beds, luxurious linens, and soft duvets. The sunlit open-concept living area features a welcoming dining space, a warm gas fireplace, and a cozy living room with a bay window and skylights that bring in the outdoors. The fully equipped kitchen is perfect for preparing delicious meals after a day by the sea.

Step onto your private deck off the master bedroom, where cedar Adirondack chairs, a Weber gas BBQ, and your own hot tub await. Cedar Shack Cottage is thoughtfully designed for guest comfort and decorated with beautiful local artwork and personal touches. Surrounded by natural vegetation for privacy, you’ll still hear the soothing sounds of the ocean and be just a short stroll from the spectacular beach.

Parking for one vehicle is available at the front of our property. Cedar Shack is set at the back, accessible via a charming gravel path bordered by mature rhododendrons and shrubs. A luggage cart is conveniently located just below the bay window. Please note, the gravel path may be a bit tricky for guests with mobility challenges.

The village of Tofino is an easy five-minute drive, or you can hop on your bike and take the 6 km Multi-Use Path (MUP) into town. Along the way, stop at Outside Break for gourmet ice cream or a take-out lunch. For a longer ride, follow the bike trail along Pacific Rim National Park’s beautiful beaches and forests—the continuous 44 km path links Tofino and Ucluelet for a truly scenic adventure.

This is the best equipped accomodation that I have ever rented. It's location just across the street from Chesterman beach is ideal and I recommend a night time hot tub to enjoy the millions of stars.

We had a wonderful 3 nights at Barb and Daniel's Cedar Shack. It had been 25 years since my last trip to Tofino and surfing at Chestermans Beach. It is still as beautiful as ever. The Cedar Shack is just across the street from the beach. It was super easy to get the wetsuits on and carry the boards to the beach. The outdoor shower and hangers for the wetsuits was great. The hot tub is wonderful. The landscaping on the property is really impressive and creates beautiful privacy barriers from the main house to the cabin at the rear of the property. The Cedar Shack has laundry which is great after already traveling for 2 weeks. Barb and Daniel have created a Tofino oasis. We will be back sooner than later for the next surf and west coast adventure!

My husband, my dad and I stayed here for 4 nights in September and the property is just incredible! Barb, our host has her own home right on the property as well but you’d never know it. There’s so much beautiful landscaping that everything is so private and you can’t even see the other house from ours. The hot tub was so nice to jump into at the end of our days at the beach. Beach access is a jiffy with it being pretty well right across the driveway. There’s no air conditioning so it did get a little warm in the house during the day but luckily each room had a little fan to turn on. It took us less than 9 minutes to drive to the town of Tofino to pick up groceries and enjoy other restaurants. There’s a little market even closer that’s about a 4 minute drive and there’s a cafe, ice cream and more, plus a little convenience store that sells fresh produce. Perfect location, we are already looking at trips to come back!

What a magical place! Our highlight was watching the shooting stars light up the sky while sitting in the hot tub. Very private, clean, and comfortable. And only steps to the beach. A little hidden gem! We will be back!

Loved staying at this property. Close to the beach, ample amount of space. Loved stepping outside and hearing the waves and the gardens onsite were beautiful. The hosts (Barb especially who we talked to for a bit) were lovely and made us feel so welcome. It’s worth noting that it is not air conditioned so it can get stuffy on warmer days in the afternoon but it was easily managed by opening the windows, and there were plenty of screened doors and windows to keep the cottage comfortable. I would recommend this property and hope to stay here again if/when we return to the area!!

The cottage was easy access to the beach and lovely walks. We had everything we needed and the kitchen was full stocked for everything we needed for cooking and our dinners. The hot tub and sitting area were very private and we had a wonderful experience. I would highly recommend staying in the amazing Cedar Shack. Brilliant for a ladies weekend away.

The bed and pillows were comfortable and the neighbourhood quiet, being just a 2 minute walk from the surf. We used the hot tub several times a day. We live on a half-acre property located just steps away from the beautiful Chesterman Beach. Our property is designed to provide optimal privacy for our guests. The lovely gardens feature abundant natural vegetation, including 40-year-old rhododendrons, stunning azaleas, and various flowering trees and shrubs. Many have described it as a slice of heaven.
