Our home is a waterfront family retreat on Lake Champlain close to Middlebury, Burlington and Vergennes.

This one of a kind, private home offers spectacular views of Lake Champlain and the Adirondack mountains. Hang out and grill on the back patio, relax by the pool and in the hot tub, or explore the waterfront and Lake Champlain.

House Details
Main Floor: The layout of the home is perfect for families and entertaining. The kitchen, dining and living room are an open floor plan with amazing views of Lake Champlain and the Adirondacks. The main floor also includes two bedrooms (one king, one queen) with on-suite bathrooms.

Second Floor: The second floor includes a master bedroom with an on-suite bathroom and two additional bedrooms with a shared bathroom. All rooms have beautiful views of Lake Champlain.

Third Floor: The third floor is perfect for kids. The floor includes five single beds and an attached bathroom.

Perfect family retreat

Our extended family of 14 loved Whitecaps! We range in ages from 7 months to 72 and we all had so much fun. The home is really family-friendly with truly something for everyone. The pool and hot tub were great, we had some great ping pong tournaments, and ate some eggplants from the garden 😊

The pictures and description don't do this house justice! The property is immaculate! We fell in love with it. And would love to go there again. It had everything anyone could ever ask for. The Scenery is unreal. Privacy was another plus.

We rented this house with a couple other families for my 40th. The house was everything and more than what was on the website, which is always refreshing. The property is very peaceful and extraordinarily beautiful. The hosts were accessible and accommodating. I couldn't recommend this property more; we'd love to be back.

Best sunsets in VT

The lake house was absolutely stunning, with huge open living spaces for our group of 14. Everything we needed we found at our fingertips, including games and toys for the kids as well as firewood for the fireplace and firepit, s'more sticks, kayaks, paddle boards and fishing poles for exploring the lake. Sunsets were epic every night we were there as was the ice cream and hospitality at LuLu's in Vergennes. Owner was fantastic, quick to respond to all inquiries. We'd go back in a heartbeat.

Amazing location, responsive property managers

Our family had a great time at this home. It is in an amazing location and is very private with access to Lake Champlain. We had a couple issues with the home and the owners/managers were quick to respond. The only negative comment we had was with the initial cleanliness of the kitchen and bedroom areas upon arrival. Didn't look like their cleaning service had attended to these areas prior to our arrival. Had we not needed to spend an hour or so cleaning, this would have gotten 5 stars. Everything else was amazing!

Everything was Absolutely Beautiful

The house and the view is amazing, pictures do not do it justice. The views are beautiful from almost anywhere you are on the property or in the house. Every evening I had to take more pictures of the sunset because each night seemed more beautiful than the last. There was more than enough room for all 15 of us to gather inside, outside, fireside or poolside. We had three families with kids 8 years old and up. There was always something to enjoy. Everyone loved taking out the paddleboards and kayaks, especially the kids. Even on a rainy day the kids had more than enough to do, ping pong, pool, tons of board games, playing piano, and even some dancing in one of the large open rooms. The kitchen is enormous and very well equipped, with more than enough serving dishes, pots & pans, plates, utensils, multiple coffee makers, coffee, grinder, etc. There is two of every large appliance . . . stove, oven, fridge, dishwasher. The house is about 10 minutes away from Vergennes (which I still cannot pronounce properly). This town has a great grocery store (much bigger than I thought it would be) and a cute Main St with some nice shops, restaurants, coffee shops, ice cream, etc. This was the hosts first summer renting out their family home, so there were no reviews when we booked it; which made us a little nervous. But they seem to be wonderful people and were very helpful (and quick to answer any questions). The information package they provided us was very thorough and more helpful than any host I've ever seen.

Perfect spot!

We were a group of 4 families- 8 adults and 8 children ages 2-9 and we stayed for 4 nights. The house was beautiful, clean and organized and had everything we could possibly need. The kids loved the toys and the pool and hot tub, as well as running around on the huge lawn. The views were beautiful, the kitchen was extremely functional and truly I cannot think of anything bad to say about this property. Andrea and Matt were great hosts and we definitely hope to return in the future. Highly recommend!

The perfect spot

This was an astounding property, perfect to celebrate my 75th birthdat with all of my children and grandchildren. The LaRoccas are incredibly generous to share their special home, complete with so many things to do that it's impossible to pick! There were actvities for all ages - two months old to seventy-five years - and of course the spectacular setting. Throwing rocks in the lake, canoeing, board games, the fire pit and s'mores, soccer on the lawn, endless hours in the pool - there was always something going on. The magic of Lake Champlain permeates this home.

Wonderful stay

Our Entire family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Whitecaps. The house and property are beautiful. There is lots to do without going anywhere else. The pool, piano, kayaks and paddle boards where the biggest hits with our group. We did find the mattresses on the firm side, but nothing a topper couldn't correct. Heather, was very helpful. We asked lot of questions and always got quick replies. Several family members relayed that this was the best place we have stayed.

Home away from home!

All you need to stay at Whitecaps are a change of clothes and your toothbrush. Everything else is provided. The kitchen is the perfect gathering place for a large group equipped with two refrigerators, two stoves, two dishwashers, and everything you’ll need to make a five course meal for your family and friends. If you want to take it outside, enjoy the grill, picnic tables, and patio with a fire pit overlooking an incredible lake view. Pool and hot tub are a plus, but spend time on the kayaks, paddleboards, and canoe on the lake. We were greeted by a majestic bald eagle every morning! Rooms are spacious (15 beds for 15 people, no sleeping on a couch or pull out like some other Vrbo ads), plenty of bathrooms, and lots of toys whether you’re 2 years old or 80! And no TVs in the bedrooms (just the Lake Room) which we appreciated. This is a beautiful, well-maintained property. The home has clearly been the pride and joy of the LaRocca family for generations, and now they have been gracious enough to open their doors to us. Thanks Matt for a great stay! Add on: Location is perfect as well as it’s just a short drive to the quaint little town of Vergennes. If you’re a runner or cyclist (bicycle and/or motorcycle), this is a beautiful area to go out for miles. Button Bay State Park just north of the property is a nice stop over for rest and water. Enjoy!
