This is an exceptional spot with an exceptional view of Lake Superior. The kitchen is clean and very functional. The rooms and bathrooms are cozy. The land around it is beautiful and in conservation. There are thoughtful perks you always wish were in short term rentals, like indoor garage parking, heaters in the bathrooms, easy fireplace, direct sunrise view, and smart choices in furniture. The hosts were so nice and responsive. Just a cool place all around. 10/10
This was our first cousins trip for our three couples. The house was absolutely fantastic. It was perfect for us. The house was exactly as posted. My only recommendation is that future renters be made aware that the driveway is challenging and a 4 wheel drive or SUV vehicle would be recommended.
An A-frame atop its own private 40 acre bluff overlooking blue Superior... sound too good to be true? There’s usually some hitch, right? Bad decor, surly hosts with weird rules, barebones or outdated amenities... Not here! Wild Pines lived up to every hope and expectation. Clean, minimalist, tasteful furnishings, thoughtful touches like hand lotions, full coffee service, and candles and a stellar and fitting book collection. The outdoor fire ring was perfect for a cool evening. It’s so quiet and peaceful here. The view from the deck, the comfy long sofa, and the wicker basket chair provide plenty of places to relax and read. We didn’t turn on the TV once. The only thing you should know is that the driveway comes as advertised: it is steep and winding. We loved it for the adventure of arrivals and departures. Location is great too, right near Split Rock lighthouse. All in all, perhaps the best VRBO stay we’ve had, and I don’t say that lightly. We will definitely be back!
We had a wonderful stay at the Wild Pines cabin. There were 5 adults and we had plenty of room to relax on our 4 night stay. The views of Lake superior are amazing with the cabin set high above amongst the treetops. The cabin was very clean and nicely decorated. The beds were very comfortable and kitchen well appointed. We would definitely stay again.
We really enjoyed out 2 night stay. It's a wonderful property. Beautiful site and scenic view so Lake Superior. Well stocked kitchen. Nice bedding and towels. Would definitely book again if in the area.
We had such a wonderful time at Wild Pines! The views and grounds can't be beat, and the interior decor, amenities and cozy spaces offered such a phenomenal place to relax in style. Our young kids loved the extended sun room and "fort"-like closets upstairs, and it was lovely to be able to grill and hike to so many great spots nearby. Thanks again for providing a stunning home-away-from-home!
We booked a spontaneous midweek getaway to Wild Pines when the owners posted on social media that a few days had opened up. We’d stayed here in the spring as well so knew what to expect but all the same the place is a welcome retreat and so calming and serene. It’s clean, well equipped and perfectly placed for a quick visit to Split Rock lighthouse. We’ll be back again for sure!
This is a newly remodeled, very clean house on the north shore of MN. It is a beautiful setting and a lovely house. There are all the basic kitchen needs available, however if you really like to cook, you may need to improvise (or bring your own gear, like a good chef's knife). We had a wonderful time and can highly recommend this house. The pictures are very accurate, and they are not kidding about a steep driveway. :-)
The A-frame cabin had everything we could have need for our four night stay. The furniture was comfortable, towels were soft, kitchen had spices, basic cooking items and a dishwasher and full sized frig. Three bedrooms was perfect for our party of six. The view of Lake Superior was outstanding. They
were binoculars to see the lake and the many eagles flying. A great deck with table and chairs, board games, movies, satellite tv and WiFi. Location couldn’t have been better, 30 min to Two Harbors, 1 hour from Duluth and 1 hour to Grand Marias. We were all very impressed.
