About this property

Sanctuary on the North Shore of Lake Superior

The unique feature of this property is the spectacular panoramic high bluff view of Lake Superior. Our property has direct access to the Blue Jay Vista Trail for both snowmobiles and ATV's. The A-frame structure features vaulted 2-story window views facing east to Lake Superior. Relax or dine on a second-story deck that provides expansive views along the north shore, Lake Superior, and the sun setting through the woods. The A-frame is completely secluded on 6 wooded acres. The property features two outdoor fire pit areas with plenty of seating and fire wood is provided.

Another unique feature is the location. Easy access for groceries, wine and spirits, eateries, and gas. Beaver Bay is close by with more restaurants and shopping. With several state parks nearby, guests will find numerous hiking and biking trails, waterfalls, and scenic views. A snowmobile/ATV trail system is within walking distance of the property.

The A-frame was completed in 2009 and is a perfect blend of new amenities and an 'up north' interior décor complete with log railings, furniture, and tongue & groove throughout. The great room has a vaulted ceiling and panoramic unobstructed views of Lake Superior. Enjoy an even more expansive view from an outdoor seating area on the edge of the bluff.

This property is absolutely beautiful. It's secluded, peaceful, beautiful, rummy and very well maintained. The house was very cean. My family loves coming to the Silver Bay Area. It's a great little town. Everyone has ben friendly. We love the local grocery store Zups. All of the beaches and waterfalls are stunningly beautiful. Highly recommend this property

We were on location for an upcoming film. Hard to beat the beauty of Superior. We were so busy we didn’t have much relaxation time but the A-frame was a perfect place to be after a long day on the set.

Absolutely Beautiful

My daughter and I visited the North Shore for the first time, and we absolutely loved our A-Frame! It was so beautiful, and we couldn’t have asked for a more wonderful setting. The beds were so comfortable and we had everything we needed inside and outside. Would highly recommend.

Always Magical

A return visit to the A Frame for us after a few years and it's even more special than we remember. A great property, with a stunning overview, on a spectacular stretch of the north shore. Moonlight and dawn views of the sky and lake are particularly wonderful from this spot. The property is immaculately maintained and rental process easy.

Great location

Our entire family enjoyed our stay at the Sanctuary on the North Shore. It was a great place to relax, and even though we could hear traffic from Rt 61 outside, inside the house, it was very quiet, and the place had a secluded feeling. The place is a great location to explore the shore, all the hiking trails in the area, and even a bit of the BWCA. Dave's suggestions for places to visit and restaurants in the area were greatly appreciated, since we had never been to the North Shore. He quickly responded to a question I had while we were there. It was much appreciated.

Clean and comfortable. Would definitely recommend to others.Only complaint is the checkout requirement to empty the dishwasher. It is unreasonable to expect us to sit around waiting 2-3 hours for breakfast dishes to be cleaned in dishwasher. Should just require dsihes to be loaded and dish washer started.

The A-frame is located in the most perfect spot with amazing breathtaking views of Lake Superior. Honestly, the pictures do not even do it justice, the wow factor as you drive into the driveway. Everything is close that you could possibly need, great location for exploring further north as well.The cabin is beautiful, well kept and great spaces to capture the views while indoors as well.I highly recommend to take Dave’s advice and wake up early enough to see the sunrise, absolutely stunning.

The cabin was super cozy! It had every amenity you could ask for in a cabin on the North Shore: spacious and private property, great view of Superior (unless you have fog like we did haha), within close distance of multiple state parks and restaurants, multiple bonfire pits, cozy couches for movie nights, etc. I could go on and on! The only drawback we had was due to mother nature - we had fog and rainy weather all the days we were there. Luckily for us, the cabin itself was all we needed. Thanks again for letting us use your wonderful cabin, Dave - we hope to be back!

We have many fond memories from our own childhood of spending vacation time up north, and then created new ones with our 2 children. It is a setting that appeals to those who want to do nothing but relax & enjoy the beauty of the north shore, to those that prefer to be active outdoors.

We chose this property for the unique expansive view of Lake Superior. An added plus is the location and proximity to many state parks, Lutsen Ski Resort, restaurants and stores.

What makes this property unique

The view of Lake Superior changes constantly so we enjoy the ever-changing scenery. We continue to find new scenic locations that are accessible on short or long hikes, or on recreational vehicle trails. The views are spectacular both inside and outside so the weather does not inhibit full enjoyment of the beauty of the north shore.
