Lovely location and apartment

This apartment had everything we needed. There was heat wave in Annecy but we were provided with fans which helped. The location was wonderful.

Short Stay Annecy

Stayed two nights in Annecy and apartment was great for our short stay. Location is superb right in the heart of Annecy, close to everything. Communication with host, very responsive. If you have a lot of luggage the spiral staircase was tricky.

Annecy apt

Fabulous location right in the heart of old town Annecy. Lots of great restaurants, shopping nearby. Only downside to the apartment was parking was not close by and it is a third floor walk up. Be prepared for lots of walking.

Pros:- Convenient location in heart of old town Annecy.- Charming unit with potential. Cons:- Unit needs maintenance. Several lights were not working. Faucets are loose / material rotting. - One of the bathrooms has sewer smell.- Top floor (3 Flr) with no elevator and no air conditioner, so it can be inconvenient and get uncomfortably warm in summer. - Property management company is not accommodating. (They would only provide one set of keys. Additionally, we rented the unit for a week for four people, and were provided 4 rolls of toilet paper. Towards the end of the week we were running out of toilet paper, and the property manager would not provide any more. Not a big expense. It speaks to how they treat visiting tourists. )

If you’re looking to stay in old town, this is an excellent location. However, be aware that there is a very good restaurant in the alley right below the front window and the third story apartment is located up a steep, stone, spiral staircase that could be a problem for some. Now the bad. The apartment is advertised as a 2 bd and 2 ba (one shower and one bathtub). Two days before we arrived we were notified that the shower was out of order. When we arrived there was a sign on the shower indicating that the problem was a leak into the downstairs apartment. In addition, the apartment had a terrible sewer odor. I mean nauseating! The odor was not a recent problem, a July review noted an odor in the same bathroom (we were there in September). The next day (we reserved the apartment for 3 weeks), we requested alternative accommodations and were told they had nothing available. We immediately informed the concierge that we expected that a portion of our rental fee would be refunded. Three times we allowed plumbers into the apartment, but none fixed the problem. So for three weeks, four adults were forced to use one bathtub. The owner agreed to refund a portion of the rental, but when we received the refund it was less than the agreed amount. Also, there are noisy, pigeon-killing stone martens living in the attic, you hear them at night on the ceiling above the bed and screeching outside on the balcony where they discard pigeon parts.

Location nearly perfect. In heart of historic city. Easy access to sites tours, dining. Only drawback directly above restaurant that serves past 23:00. Our point of contact was always there when we needed her and was very accommodating during check in and departure. Could have been cleaner; showing wear and age. All onsite informational material in French only had use translation app which was tedious

Good, not great

The apartment is very charming with a great location, but it needs some minor maintenance. One of the bathrooms only has a tub, which is missing some tile around it. The countertop in this bath is also rotted. For our stay, there was no shampoo/body wash/etc. in the bathrooms. In our experience renting with VRBO, these are always included. Finally, the multiple changes in floor elevation and low ceilings may be an issue for some. If you’re 6’ tall or taller, you’ll likely hit your head at least once. All that said, the location and charm of the place go a long way to making up for the deficits.

Suberbe endroit

In der Küche findet man alles, was man braucht.
