About this property
Coastal Cottage with Amazing Gulf Views!
Looking for a place to relax and truly get away from it all? Welcome to Wakulla Beach! Located 3 miles down a dirt road, this coastal cottage is tucked deep inside the St. Mark's National Wildlife Refuge. The surrounding wilderness ensures clear skies, dark nights, and peaceful solitude.
Unobstructed views of the Gulf allows for quiet relaxation on the large screened porch. French doors in the living room and bedrooms ensure that all rooms enjoy the view of the bay. If star gazing and a good book sounds like an ideal quiet night, you will be right at home!
Our cottage is almost 100 years old and it is tiny! We have a clawfoot tub with a hand-held shower attachment. We have central AC/heat and ceiling fans in the bedrooms. We do not have a dishwasher or cable TV. We do have a TV antenna, which gives great access to basic channels. We also have satellite internet (Starlink) that can be used on our smart tv with your favorite apps.
Our house is the epitome of the real Florida. It's quaint and rustic, with a great view! We are surrounded by the St. Marks wildlife refuge, which has 83,000 acres of conservation land. This means there's a host of animals nearby, but we're also a bit off the grid. Cell service can be spotty, there's no cable access, and we're on well water, which in our area is salty. We do provide purified drinking water for our guests.
Wakulla Beach is a short 5-10 minute walk away.
Strictly a non-smoking property.
NOTE - Our home employs a Nest doorbell for security.

My husband & I loved this gorgeous cottage. It is tucked away in the middle of mother nature. It is exactly what we needed for a little mini vacation. When we weren't out hiking nearby trails or visiting natural springs, we were on the beautiful back porch. Thank you again for letting us stay.
The property was absolutely gorgeous! The house was old but very clean. We were very grateful for the drinking water. The beds were very comfortable. It made it feel like home away from home. I wish we could have stayed a few more days!

You were a pleasure to host, and you’re welcome back anytime.
What a wonderful piece of Florida! We chose this property for my 50th birthday, looking for somewhere to relax and just enjoy the peaceful sounds of Florida. I have lived here all my life and this was a wonderful experience! That house was clean, kitchen was stocked with everything you need to cook with and refrigerate. Beds were comfy and we especially loved bringing our dogs, and they loved hanging out on the back porch as much as we did. The porch was the highlight because you can relax in the screened room and look at such beautiful scenery. We also like the fact that the entire property was fenced, our dogs really loved that as well and I loved being able to let them out off leash. There also is a lot of wildlife outside of the property, seeing the hogs and their babies was a SOOO cool! We would definitely come back!!5* !!!
We loved our stay, very quiet and serene and didnt want to leave, beautiful back porch views, and a 5 min walk to the beach. I love the wildness of the surrounding vegetation.

This was a wonderful vacation. Our hosts were very nice and generous to us. This was a perfect place for nature viewing and dog friendly. We cannot say enough about how great this place is.Thank you, Brent and Jenny B.
This adorable property is just what I was looking for to spend a day away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Beautiful view with a short walk to the bay made sure me and my black lab had the perfect experience.

St Marks WSt MarksWe enjoyed staying in this quiet, peaceful home overlooking the marshes. The house was as described with a wonderful porch and comfortable beds. It is an older home with a bathroom that could use updating and doors that stick, but we didn’t mind. The listing was very accurate and we were there for the location.
Exactly as advertised, and just perfect! Four miles down a good dirt road, an old house on the edge of a salt marsh, so it will be just you, a bunch of herons, egrets, and ibises, feral pigs and squirrels, and--I guess sometimes--wild cats and/or gators. Comfortable beds, well outfitted kitchen, good wireless. Rustic--a good thing in my book, but if you are someone who wants to take long showers in a modern bathroom, this isn't your place. And there aren't manynplaces likenit anymore. If it sounds nice to sit in a rocker on a panoramic porch and read, write, talk... and to be just a tiny part of the nature around you, check it out. There are neighbors nearby, and the place feels very secure, so I felt fine as a solo female traveler before and after a friend joined. I added an extra day, really hated to leave. Danielle was great.
Beautiful location. It was so quiet and the sky was really dark at night - perfect for astrophotography. We also liked that it was close to Saint Marks and Wakulla Springs. The old house is very charming, and the big south facing back porch was wonderful. The communication with the owner/manager was great. We highly recommend this place if you are in the area
Great property! A wonderful way to experience a little bit of “Old Florida.” The housekeeping was excellent and owners have done a great job of making the cottage very comfortable and were very responsive. We will definitely be back!

Benjamin, thanks for the 5-star review! We're glad that you enjoyed your trip back to "Old Florida"! We appreciate you being such a great guest and look forward to having you back again soon!
Our family of four enjoyed a relaxing weekend at this old school Florida Beach house. The view was one of the best we have had and the quiet and solitude at night was great. This is nothing fancy but has everything you need and if is solitude and off the beaten path are your things than, you will love to stay here.
