Near to the airport of the Air Zermatt (helicopters). Access through a tunnel (30m) with an elevator to the house beautiful, comfortable apartment house "Sonnhalde B", 4 storeys. In the district of Spiss, 800 m from the centre, in a quiet, elevated position, south facing position. In the house: central heating system, washing machine, tumble dryer (for shared use). Grocery 550 m, supermarket, bakery 800 m, 20 minute walk to the centre, bus stop "Spiss" 200 m, railway station "Bahnhof Zermatt" 800 m. Mountain railway, ski rental 700 m, ski bus stop 200 m, ski school 1 km, children's ski school 1 km. Cabs cannot stop right in front of the house. The keys‘ handover takes place by the agency Interhome in Zermatt.
3-room apartment 68 m2 on 1st floor, south facing position. Bright, comfortable and modern furnishings: open living/dining room with dining table, TV and hi-fi system. Exit to the balcony, south facing position. 2 double bedrooms, each room with 1 double bed (1 x 160 cm, length 210 cm). Open kitchen (oven, dishwasher, 4 ceramic glass hob hotplates, toaster, kettle, microwave, freezer, electric coffee machine). Shower/WC. Heating. Large balcony, south facing position. Balcony furniture. Marvellous panoramic view of the Matterhorn. Facilities: Internet (WiFi, free). Please note: non-smokers only, non-smoking house.

Great apartment on edge of town

We had a fantastic 5 days in the apartment! Loved the elevated position overlooking Zermatt and, of course, the Matterhorn, but only 15 mins fairly level walk to centre of town. Also handy for supermarket and buses to the main cable cars. Overall, the apartment was very good - clean, modern, light and airy. Only (minor) reservations were the kitchen utensils, which were quite cheap and worn (e.g oven gloves, corkscrew) and bedding which were not up to standard of rest of apartment.

Total Disaster

This property requires you to walk through a tunnel to an elevator which takes you up probably 5 stories at least, which is fine. The problem is that the elevator broke after the first night and we had to walk up the stairs which is incredibly exhausting. We were unable to go out to dinner the 2nd and 3rd nights of our stay, ruining our vacation. I would like compensation of 1 nights stay.

We stayed there for 7nights, very warm and cozy with a great view! All what you need is in the house! Would be great if every 2-3 days someone will come and refresh the place but yes is not a hotel so all good!

Great apartment with nice views

We really enjoyed staying here. The view from the balcony, elevated above the town, is really quite special, but the tunnel/lift to the valley road means it has all the convenience of something lower down. Kitchen is well equipped - we enjoyed fondue on the balcony whilst watching the sunset against the Matterhorn. The cleanliness was sufficient, but could have been better, hence not giving the maximum rating.

Gut gelegen (relativ nahe am Ski-Bus) und mit sehr schöner Aussicht auf das Matterhorn. Einrichtung ist schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen und die vorgefundene Sauberkeit lässt zu wünschen übrig, vor allem bei den sehr hoch angesetzten Reinigungskosten

Zermatt Vacation

First time visit to Switzerland and we loved it. Overall condo stay was excellent. We loved the location (15 -20min walk) to town and the excellent view. The condo was well stocked and had a great layout. The only comments were that we struggled to get the heat down in the bedrooms and had to open the windows. Had an initial brief issue with internet but called the property manger and had it resolved superquick. For check in, you pick up the keys in town at the office before heading to your unit. And the only other difference was the amount of extra fees (cleaning, etc) that you had to pay when you arrived in addition to the VRBO prepayments. I may have missed disclosure if this. We would definitely return to Zermatt and stay at this same location.

All you’d ever need

Having stayed in Zermatt a number of times before, The Sonnhalde B apartment represents the best value so far. Spacious, well equipped and conveniently positioned with direct lift access from the valley road. Secure bike/ski storage, UK TV channels and sunny balcony in the afternoon overlooking Zermatt. Very pleased. Zermatt helipad is close by but that didn’t seem to bother any of may guests.

Sehr praktische Wohnung, sauber und mit schöner Aussicht

Familienfreundliche Wohnung. Sehr praktisch eingerichtet. Schöne Lage. Der im Winter stets feuchte Lift im Zugangsstollen ist das Einzige, was Optimierungsbedarf hat.
