Whispering Pines is a pet friendly cabin (fur babies are free!) with a completely enclosed fenced backyard that is located one mile from town center. This is a listing from owners of a sister cabin, Peaceful Pines, which is located less than a half mile away and is listed on both VRBO (75 5 star reviews) and the competitive site (166 reviews at an average of 4.98 out of 5 stars). The owners live less than 1/2 mile from the property and are available if needed. This property is very pet friendly. My dogs had plenty of room to play. The host was responsive. The area had a power outage but we were brought lanterns to make our stay there positive! I would go again if ever in the area. Nothing but nice things to say.

I stayed at Whispering Pines with my fiancé and our two dogs. We loved it! Jay and Darlene made the check in process so easy AND they send incredibly helpful tips for activities, restaurants and great hikes around the area. We felt taken care of. They are easy to get in touch with and everything at the location is very clearly labeled (like how the fireplace works, WiFi, etc). It’s such a gorgeous area. Our dogs were obsessed with the backyard. We had everything we needed and having coffee on the back porch was a dream.

We’ve stayed here several times now and it’s where we’ll continue to stay when we visit. It’s always clean and comfortable, quiet, and a nice backyard for the pup. it’s close to town and you can take a short walk to a coffee / breakfast spot down the road in the morning. It’s a perfect place to stay.

Our stay at peaceful pines was disappointing. The cabin had no propane, which meant we couldn't properly use the amenities that relied on it. No stove or hot water or first day staying here. Even more concerning, the cabin smelled strongly of propane throughout our stay, even after the propane was filled and we followed Jays directions to light the pilates it still smelled strongly after many hours making us feel sick and worried there might be a gas leak. it significantly impacted our comfort and peace of mind so we ended up checking out 20 hrs earlier than we had booked for.

This situation was caused by an external propane gas companies faulty regulator outside on the property. The situation was cleared up and fixed by the propane company and the guest was offered a return visit in the future for no charge. The vapor smell was only on the last evening morning of their 3 night, but was certainly unfortunate for them, but rectified very quickly.

Great place. From the warm, cozy environment, to the huge yard, that my doggies loved. The bed was just right for this Goldilocks with back arthritis. The heater/fireplaces in the bedroom and livingroom were perfect for setting a mood and warmth. The location is great for a trip to town and also for a trip to Palm Desert. I grew up in the Poconos in Pennsylvania and this charmer took me back in time to childhood memories. Thanks for that. I’ll be back.

We had a wonderful stay. The cabin was clean, comfortable, and exactly as described. It was cozy without feeling cramped, and the location was close to town while still feeling peaceful and relaxing. The beds were very comfortable, and we especially loved that our furbaby was able to run around and enjoy the backyard. Communication with the host was easy and clear, and they provided great recommendations on where to eat and sip nearby. Overall, it was a great weekend getaway and we would absolutely stay here again.
