Nice clean house with adequate room for the 8 of us traveling for our daughter’s wedding at nearby Gaines Lodge. Kitchen was enough to allow us to prepare food for the wedding as well. The fridge was big enough to hold all that food. The kids used the game room while the grandparents used the back deck to enjoy the sunshine. Loved that it was so close to Table Rock State Park.
The home was tidy and cozy, with great outdoor amenities and a game room to boot. The included Parks pass got us into Table Rock State Park (literally a 3 minute drive from the home) for an excellent hike. We will definitely come back!
The hot tub was incredible after days hike. Kitchen was equipped aqueduct with the stove being very slow to heat . It was a great comfy place to rest . Fire pit is nice and big. All lovely.
It was a cute cabin. Some furniture could be updated. Cabin was clean. We enjoyed the hot tub and fire pit. One downside, the state park pass was expired and we had to pay to get in. It would also have been nice to have instructions for the keypad….we had some difficulty with it.

Thank you for the review! The park pass has been renewed. Unfortunately I’m not sure what difficulties you had with the keypad as you just enter the code and open the door. Please always reach out to host during your stay as we can’t help after checkout.
This house was amazing! We used the game room, fire pit and hot tub for our one night stay!Everything was easy to use and the house had a great cabin vibe!Would stay here again!
Perfect Getaway Spot!We had an amazing stay at this cabin! Everything about it was perfect—from the cozy ambiance to the well-equipped amenities. It was spotless, well-maintained, and thoughtfully designed to make our stay comfortable. The peaceful location offered a much-needed escape, and every detail exceeded our expectations. Highly recommend this cabin for anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable retreat!
This is a beautiful cabin with lots to do..there’s a game room, fire pit, and a hot tub! You’ll enjoy staying here for sure. Its also quiet and in a private area! Love it!
The property is absolutely beautiful. The owner is very responsive when there's any problems, and quick to resolve it. This was one of the most relaxing mini vacations I've had in a long time.
Great Host on top of everything. Great location for hiking the S.C. high country State Parks and Dupont Forrest in N.C.
Host responds quickly to you questions and needs.
Will we return to Bear Haven in our future trips to Pickens, S. C. You Bet We Will.
Had a great time staying here w 3 other friends as we were in town playing some golf in the area. Inside was very clean and communication w the property manager was exceptional. Exterior could have used a little TLC and beds were a bit uncomfortable. Hot tub was also a bit small and could only accomodate 2 of us comforably at a time. Overall we enjoyed our stay and the bears den was in a nice, secluded location.
If you love cabin life, this is the stay for you! We stayed here one night in our epic road trip from Maryland to Florida. Wish we could have stayed longer! Super clean and charming open concept cabin was perfect for our family - 2 parents, 2 grandparents, and 3 kids ages 14, 11, and 9. Both adult couples had their own room on the main floor and the 14 year old had his own room upstairs while the two youngest shared the room next to him. We cooked, built a fire, enjoyed the hot tub, and played in the game room. Haven’t played ping pong in forever and the kids loved it! Quick note: the game room can only be accessed by going outside. Not a problem for us - but might be good for others to know so am just highlighting here.
We stayed in December to attend a family wedding at Table Rock State Park which is only 1.5 miles away. Four bedrooms, 3 baths, out door fire pit, badminton net that could be used for volleyball also. There is an enclosed game room with a pool table & foosball table. The living room, kitchen and dining room are all in one area, open concept. Full size washer & dryer are new. All the beds were comfortable; great water pressure in the showers with great Hot water temperature. I would love to come back in the summer & go hiking in Table rock park while sating here again.
Walking in was amazing. We were so happpy we rented. It was perfect for the 8 of us. Every bedroom had a TV with some form of workable app. The bathrooms are perfectly placed for everyone to be accommodated. We had one really good night in the gameroom with Foosball, air hockey and pool. A few times in hot tub but thunderstorms and rain was aplenty. Did get in two night fires in the nice back area of the yard and used the charcoal grill for a few dinners. Visiting for My granddaughters graduation turned into one of the best mini vacations.
Mountain home was very nice! It was so close to the state park, so we were able to visit there frequently. Hiking, swimming and kayaking in the lake was a few of our favorite things. We were also close enough to enjoy whitewater rafting on the Chattooga River. Enough space for our family of 6. Loved the hot tub and fire pit for family time as well. Home had everything we needed and more. Highly recommend this location.
Only a one minute drive to the entrance for Table Rock. The fire pit and hot tub were great for relaxing after long days of hiking. Thank you. We will be back someday.
