Hale Mauka Volcano Village Hawaii Volcanoes National Park

Volcano Hale Mauka welcomes you to a lovely private cottage nestled in the middle of the rainforest! Our house is very clean and well appointed. Hale Mauka offers you a place to come home and relax after a long day out exploring and playing.

Rates are for up to 4 guests. Do not exceed occupancy of 4.

SOAK in our 110 gallon tub for TWO with private rain forest views! Our tub is so insulated that it stays warm for hours! Who needs Jacuzzi or Spa? ..

Our two bedrooms are each appointed with comfortable beds. A California King Tempur-Pedic mattress in one bedroom and a queen size pillow top mattress in the other.

Enjoy that morning Kona coffee or glass of wine in the evening on the Lanai outside while enjoying the sounds and magic of the rainforest.. You won't see anything but huge fern trees and many birds and our local Kalij Pheasants when you sit on our Lanai!

We have an amazing fireplace to take the chill from the house on those chilly rainforest evenings, and we supply a starter amount of firewood. Enjoy the Smart TV that you can watch your favorite Netflix, Prime etc. movies. We also have a few DVD movies to choose from if you just want to just chill at home. Three sky tubes in our ceiling offer moonlight or sunlight into the kitchen and living room for ambient lighting.

The Village and National Park are less than 3 miles away. You can also explore our artist community and dine at some ono (tasty) restaurants here in Volcano. Our kitchen here at Hale Mauka is perfectly set up with everything you will need to make that meal at home or use the outdoor gas grill. Our dining room that is almost completely glass with views of the beautiful rainforest!

It really just doesn't get any better then Volcano Hale Mauka!!

The house was lovely. The setting nestled in the tropical foliage was magical. The property had everything we needed, except an iron. The location is ideal, not far from the Volcano National Park. We would definitely stay again.

This was one of our favorite vacation rentals! The description and photos were spot on. The communication was quick and straightforward, and the instructions in the welcome email were very helpful. We thought the kitchen was well stocked, and the location near Volcano National Park was great, less than 10 minutes away. The furniture, bed and bathroom were much nicer than many places we have stayed. Even really nice towels! We did a day trip into Hilo and beyond, and that was also very doable. Overall, we'd stay here again if we ever came back to this area!! Thank you!

Perfect Home for Volcanos Trip

Such a beautiful home. Great location. Well equipped. It was so relaxing to get a fire roaring at night and enjoy a glass of wine after the kids went to sleep. Would book this home every time we visit Volcanoes National Park.

Perfect rental for Hawaii Volcanoes National Park

This was the perfect rental to spend the night near Hawaii Volcanoes National Park in order to see the orange glow cast by the lava lake inside the volcano. The unique Tree Fern ecosystem was an added bonus. Check in and out was super easy and the owners were very pleasant. Highly recommended!

Rain forest next to Volcano National Park

Great location for visiting Volcano National Park. I’m very glad we stayed for 3 night so that we could explore the area and do some hiking. This is maybe our favorite vacation rental ever. Close to the park but felt very secluded. House had everything you could need and more.

Secluded sanctuary in Volcano

Beautiful 2 bedroom house that is updated and comfortable. Kitchen was well stocked. Loved the indoor lanai, for us to take in the ambience of a canopy while protected from mosquitoes. Would definitely stay here again if we come back to Volcano in the future.

Amazing property! Huge wrap around lanai, with dining area and gathering spaces, big windows tons of light, cozy interior, well stocked games and entertainment closet, extremely comfortable beds, well appointed kitchen- stocked with cooking tools and serveware…modern lighting, wood stove, felt safe, the list goes on! Thanks for a wonderful weekend!

A Perfect Stay!

This house was EXACTLY what we were looking for and needed. The location was great for our trip to Volcanoes National Park and Mauna Kea. We also took day trips to some other locations. While the house was more of a place to rest and relax and we spent more time away from the house than in it, the house fit our needs perfectly. Peaceful, clean, very comfortable sleeping arrangements, and a great DVD selection!

Lovely!

Very cute place in the rain forest! Bring your own oil and any spices you need. There were a few spices only, probably left by guests. A great grill. And wonderful bidet!

Gorgeous Jungle Retreat

My entire family loved staying at this house, with its wide porches and gorgeous decor, nestled in the jungle. At night, we could hear the sounds of the jungle, snug and cozy inside the home. Volcano was much colder than we realized, and the wood stove came in handy. The porch allowed us to enjoy the view protected from the area’s intermittent fine mist. It was truly lovely.

Nestled in Volcano

Exactly as described. Very quiet (except for the coqui, neighborhood dogs when bothered by feral pigs, and the roosters at dawn). All quite pleasant for the setting and highly recommend! The location is perfect for exploring HI Volcanoes National Park and not a bad day trip for visiting Hilo proper or more Southern parts of the island. On the occasional rainy day, there were plenty of things to do inside--play games, cards, stream movies, or play DVDs. The kitchen was fully stocked with appliances needed to cook, and clean up was easy with the dishwasher. The washer and dryer was super convenient. The porch was a nice place to sit in the morning. Mahalo.

Better than expected.

Great location for more time spent near Volcano & Village. All 4 guests were more than pleased with the property. Property managers went beyond the call of duty with a special request to make the stay special and memorable. Only recommendation is that "half bath" description is a stretch. Toilet shared mud room and was open (louvered pocket door and opening at ceiling above door) to the kitchen. Suggest adding a vent fan to exterior and closing opening at ceiling with glass or glass block. "Super" full bath (including separate shower & soaking tub plus high-end toilet) made up for it.

Trip of a Lifetime in Hilo

We spent Christmas week in Volcano at this beautiful secluded home in the rainforest. We were so grateful to return home at the end of each day to true paradise. Not far from Hilo, we were able to access the Hilo beaches and restaurants and the entire eastern side of the island. Hawaii Volcano National Park is next door to this location and we were fortunate to see an erupting volcano while we were here. I recommend spending a minimum of two days just at the Park. Restaurants, gas and other incidentals are all available in nearby Volcano Village. This home has it all, including a fully stocked kitchen. The bedding and furniture is comfortable with plenty of extra blankets, pillows, sleeping bags, etc. We wanted for nothing while we stayed here. We spent 8 nights here before traveling to Kona for the remainder of our 12!day trip. Mahalo to Diana and Robert for offering such a fine accommodation. Spending Christmas and New Year’ Eve in Hawaii has been a dream of mine since we were here in 2005. 💙
