This was our third stay at the Gemstone, and we'll be happy to return as many times as we can in the future. Plenty of space for the four adults and two small dogs. We love the kitchen, VERY comfortable beds and couches. Love the quiet location that is still close and convenient to Candler businesses.
We were looking for a place centrally located to Asheville, Hendersonville and surrounding areas. We wanted something in a peaceful, quiet environment with green space for our pups. This place was perfect. Enjoyed watching the sunsets and relaxing on the porch. Even saw some wild turkeys. We were also able to take back roads to get around to avoid the highway, which was nice. When I reached out to the owners with question's before booking, they responded very quickly.
Clean and maintained home. Covered deck is very enjoyable in the morning. Enjoyed our stay and would stay again.
Could use new pillows in master bedroom.

Thanks Barry for leaving your review. Also, I appreciate you letting me know new pillows for the master bedroom are needed. I’ll definitely replace them!
We had a great time spending time here for Thanksgiving! The place was so clean and kitchen was stocked. My family was accommodated with an early check in, which was so kind. The only thing that was a bit surprising was the campsite was rented and is right out the front door, so the yard, barn and all other amenities were shared with two other families, just not something we were expecting. We still had a great experience!

COMMUNIAL SPACE!! If you are looking for a secluded location without others sharing everything right outside your door.. DO NOT rent this place or R.V sites directly out your front door.We looked forward to using the barn, having a fire and stargazing together. All of those things quickly lost their appeal when we were whispering on the porch to not disturb other guests. Rentals are packed in tight! With that said... the property is beautiful, clean inside and out. Everything we needed was available in the kitchen and an early arrival was permitted. Host was wonderful. We just wish the layout of multiple sites sharing common spaces was advertised. That is enouh for us to not return, sadly.

Even though the guest houses and RV sites may be considered close they all have their private and communal areas. The barn on the property has been a favorite and has space for guests to enjoy and some have become best friends during their visits.
Very clean and located in beautiful area with gorgeous views. Quiet and peaceful but also well located between Asheville and Waynesville. A very relaxing stay.
This was just the right place for us to use as a home base for visiting family and friends in the area. Very homey, plenty of space, quiet with a somewhat secluded feel, but just a quick drive to anything you might need. One of the most well-equipped kitchens of any rental we've ever stayed at! We look forward to returning when we have time to enjoy the fire pit and barn!
My only negative would be an RV parked right outside the house but it did not interfere with us as we were only there 2 days and spent most of our time off property. Other it was outstanding and we will definitely book again.

Just a note of clarification about the RV. It was temporarily parked beside the GEM…..definitely not common practice.
We loved our time at the Gem in the Sky! This is the perfect property for a low-key, relaxed weekend. We especially loved the barn space, campfires at the fire pit and having coffee out on the porch in the mornings. Such a perfect space and we hope to come back here again!
We enjoyed the views, and seeing deer, and the house was perfect for two couples. We especially liked the barn, we played in there like we were little kids again
The property was clean and kitchen was well supplied and organized. Overall the unit worked well. Was unaware that he did not have central air and the ceiling air/heat unit did an okay job with getting air to the bedrooms. Plenty of ceilings fans.
Also, there are two RV spaces on the property that were rented out.
This was our headquarters to explore the forest and mountains all around the Asheville area. It is a very nice 2 bedroom farmhouse in a idyllic setting. We would definitely stay there again if/when we return to the area.

This property was my childhood home and after retirement I moved back to the home on the property that my Dad built. My Dad also built the old red barn where the loft has been outfitted with games and spaces to relax and is shared by all my guests. We wanted to offer this space for guests to share in the awesome mountain views and enjoy a quiet relaxing place to unwind. In addition to the lofty apartment we also have the Farmhouse (also listed on VRBO) as well as 3 campsites, all with their unique spaces.
