About this property

Private beautiful cabin on Flathead Lake in Lakeside

This iconic Flathead Lake cabin is reported to be the oldest of its kind on the lake. Built in 1890 and named ''IOWNA VISTA'', the log cabin was completely restored about 20 years ago. With the original stone fireplace, log cabin living room with bedroom/loft, three additional bedrooms, and 3 full bathrooms the property maintains the character and charm of the original cabin. Relax on the over 500 sf of screened-in porch with views across the beautiful Flathead Lake, the largest freshwater lake west of the Mississippi, and panoramic views of Glacier National Park and the Swan Mountain Range. The lake frontage includes 169 feet of natural terrain with rocky beach, a boathouse, dock, lift, boat rail system, patio area and fire pit. The property offers plenty of privacy within walking distance of downtown Lakeside.

In the summer, the possibilities are endless; hiking, boating, golfing, fishing and swimming. Glacier National Park is a 'must see' and is a beautiful drive just 40 minutes from Lakeside. Winter on the lake is surprisingly mild, but the surrounding mountains get plenty of snow! There are two terrific ski areas to enjoy - Blacktail Mountain Ski Area is just a short drive up the road from your rental retreat. Whitefish Resort is located in Whitefish - an approximate 45-minute drive north of Lakeside.

Due to the loft in the living room and terrain out in front of the cabin, we are not recommending this property be rented to families with little children.
