Lake Michigan is across the street and public Lake Michigan Beach access is 5 minutes away at West Side Park or Pier Cove. Famous Oval Beach and beautiful Saugatuck Dunes State Park both 15 minutes away. Walk out the door to enjoy walking or biking along a scenic stretch of Lake Michigan. Relax in a spacious, clean, child friendly home with two large TV's (75" and 65") and a mix of new furniture and antiques and luxury linens. Enjoy the gas fireplace in the living room or the outdoor fire pit on chilly nights. Relax on the 2 decks in the summer and enjoy grilling out by the pool. Super comfortable outdoor furniture and a retractable awning to maximize comfort while you overlook the pool and the beautiful gardens. Pour a glass of wine from the wine/beverage fridge while you cook a meal with local fresh ingredients from our gardens in our super well equipped kitchen. For older kids and adults there is a new ping pong table in the lower level and lots of family games and puzzles. Fresh eggs from our chickens in the summer you can care for (or not!) Most Guests love that farm experience taking care of them! (optional) Updated Laundry room with newer washer/dryer, new AC, new water heater, furnaces, water softeners, basement egress windows, custom closet organizers, updated mud room and renovated and updated bathrooms! Another great stay!

This is the second time we have stayed here - we came back because it’s perfect for families! Wonderful location and incredibly well appointed. The hosts, Anne and Bill, are very helpful and have great communication. Our children wake up every morning wanting to help with the chickens, take a long walk/bike down the street (with great views) and then jump in the heated pool! Plenty of toys and kid safety items around the house, if needed. We will certainly be back!

We had a wonderful time with family at Anne and Bill's beautiful home. The layout of the house was really nice and spacious. The pool was a total hit with the kids and the perfect size. The linens and towels were all so nice, and we appreciated the extra fleece blankets around! Our family made many new memories here that we will cherish, and It was so nice to have the backdrop of this home to make them in. Thank you Anne!

This was the most amazing VRBO our family has been able to rent. Our children (ages 3,5,7) enjoyed the home as much as we did! The kids loved taking care of the chickens (honestly they didn't stop talking about it), the pool was the perfect size - equipped with a sturdy no-entry fence to ease any safety concerns, the house was equipped with plenty of toys for all ages, the vegetables gardens were fun to explore, and the outside was large to run, play, and observe nature. Us parents enjoyed the coffee nook, outside firepit, pool, and multiple tvs. The kitchen was more than well equipped and easy to pivot for cooking at home, take out, and feeding multiple ages. We will be coming back to this wonderful home!

Perfect family home!

We loved our "home away from home"! A great location & plenty to do even on a rainy day. Our grandsons (2 & 5) loved the huge playroom/tv room and the pool. And the 5-year-old didn't want to leave the chickens. He rushed to help every time we needed to take care of them. Plenty to do in the area and many kid friendly places!

Great stay!

We had a great experience at this property for our Labor Day getaway! The owners were incredibly responsive and easy to chat with, especially with questions around COVID before we came. They were very flexible. Feeding and caring for the chickens was SO FUN for the kids, the s’mores kit they left was a nice touch, and they had many supplies needed for cooking, fire pit, etc. would absolutely rent with them again!

Amazing trip!

My husband and our two young kids enjoyed our stay so much! Anne and Bill did a great job communicating prior to our arrival. Perfect spot for families with young children - plenty of toys, space, child proofed home. Very well appointed house with all the kitchen and home basics provided. The location is perfect - along a beautiful street that is a joy for long walks with views of the lake and very close to Saugatuck/Douglas. Heated pool was a huge hit with our kids! Already planning our next trip back.

Everything you need for the perfect stay

We had such a great experience. First of all, Anne, the property owner was great. She was very responsive to all of our questions and requests. She thought of everything you’d need for the perfect stay. You felt as if you were in your own home. The home was very clean, she had lots of towels, pool toys, nice soaps etc. We loved the pool, the gardens were magnificent and the chickens were fun to watch. We’ll definitely be back!

Wonderful week!

We are a family of six — ages ranging from 2 to 75. This home is totally gorgeous and has everything we needed to make our stay one of the best we’ve had. The little ones LOVED the pool and the play room — which was well stocked with toys for them. The beds and baths were luxurious, and the kitchen was fully stocked with dishes and cookware making meal prep easy. The outdoors area is spectacular with lush landscaping and gardens, a fire-pit - and chickens! The location makes it easy to get to the beach and other fun things in the area. We totally enjoyed our stay.

Where do we start??? We lucked out by finding this amazing property for our annual four generations of gals trip. The house is nestled in the woods, situated on a stunning 2 acres offering the perfect seclusion. The minute you walk in the front door, you are welcomed by an amazing interior offering plenty of space for quite a few guests. Our great grandma of the bunch felt like an absolute queen in the master bedroom, Yaya (grandma) was comfy in the guest room, and Mama and Sweet pea lived their room with a twin and double bed. The butterflies were swarming the butterfly bush by the pool enclosure and the hummingbirds (Henrietta and Henry) were great entertainment….however the best of all were….Red and her roost (the 8 adorable and talkative chickens)! The house was so well equipped with everything one could hope for in a rental, complete with the most awesome playhouse and stroller for any dolls that make the journey. We loved our stay and could not recommend this property more highly, an absolute gem!!!

Fantastic vacation home!

Our family really enjoyed staying here in June 2022. The house and property are outstanding! The most important aspects for me were how clean the property was and family friendly. I don’t always feel comfortable in rentals and I really felt like this was our second home during our stay. There were so many helpful additions for the kids—baby gates, high chair, crib, and even a play area filled with toys. Our boys had the best time with all the toys, and of course the pool! So nice to go exploring in the morning and relax at the pool in the afternoon. The hosts made the extra effort to make sure we had everything we needed before and during our stay. They left helpful suggestions of places to visit which came in handy since it was our first time in the area. We are definitely considering coming back because we’re not sure this place can be topped!

Perfect Family Vacation

This was the best vacation rental we have ever stayed at, and the rare rental where it is even better in person than in the photos. The house was perfectly equipped for traveling with a small child - from toys and safety gates to thoughtful details like a kneepad for giving baths and children’s dinnerware. Our son absolutely loved it, he had plenty to play with and it gave us plenty of time to relax and enjoy the home! The grounds and gardens are more sprawling than you can see from the pictures, and we loved picking tomatoes, basil and blackberries. With the fresh produce and well stocked kitchen we were able to make many lovely meals at home. The home really stands out because of the thoughtfulness of the owners. Anne and Bill clearly spent a ton of time making this a beautiful and comfortable home for their renters, which is evident from the plush linens, detailed guidebook, essential supplies (cleaning supplies! Bug spray! Portable speaker! S’mores kit!!) and lovely decor. Can’t recommend it enough.

Spectacular vacation home in perfect location!

Our family of 5 adults rented this amazing home July 18-24. We have been renting vacation homes for nearly 20 years. This was our best experience ever! The home is perfectly located with several beaches within a couple of miles. Douglas is a quaint little town. Holland and Saugatuck are just minutes away. The grounds are absolutely gorgeous! Gardens and trees everywhere you look. We've never seen so many butterflies, hummingbirds, entire families of deer. The patio and pool were so relaxing and refreshing. The interior of the home is beautifully decorated with top notch furnishings and appliances. The owners obviously spared no expense in making sure every room is comfortable and inviting. The most equipped kitchen in any rental we've stayed in.The master suite is absolutely gorgeous! We definitely recommend this property and plan on visiting again. Lots of communication and helpful info from the owners. They couldn't have been any nicer. We were treated like family.

Great Lake House Vacation

We stayed in this beautiful property for 1 week mid July and our stay was fantastic. Owners were very helpful and responsive. The house itself was great, kids loved the pool. Central location, 10 minute drive to downtown Saugutuck. Would definitely stay there again.

Relaxing Retreat

I came to the area to visit my daughter at GVSU, to see a friend, and to see Lake Michigan. I rented this place for the bathtubs. The house is immaculate, has everything you need, and suitable for large groups. My daughter and I both enjoyed our baths. There are a couple of small beaches that you can drive to close by. However, there are no walking or running paths nearby and if you want to exercise outside you either have to do it on the road or drive somewhere. The host suggested Saugatuck State Park which is about a 15 minute drive away. It was absolutely lovely and I highly recommend a walk through the forest to the lake. This place is wonderful but a little remote. My GPS actually went offline a couple of times and I got lost a couple of times. I don’t think there are many if any DoorDash options but host said a pizza place does deliver. There is not direct access to Lake Michigan and there is a peekaboo view of Lake from house. There is a wall of windows in front with no shades. My daughter said one bed was so hard she had to switch to the other but the other was fine. I slept in the master bedroom and it was very comfortable. We didn’t use the third bedroom or actually use most of the house but it has a lot of entertaining areas. I checked out a day early due to it being further from Grand Rapids than expected.

This spot is exactly as you imagine it to be when you look through the pictures -- a perfect luxurious cozy spot nestled in an absolutely picturesque area of the world. The convenience and comfort of a five-star hotel with the flexibility and privacy of your own home. Worth every cent, particularly if you have young kids as it is equipped to be family friendly. Wish we could have stayed even longer, and hope to return for many years to come. Best Stay Yet

This was our favorite Michigan rental yet! The pool and deck area offered serenity with beautiful views of the trees and garden while we watched the kids play in the pool. The deck furniture was incredibly comfortable and beautiful. The inside had so much room; it was perfect for two families. The decor is so tasteful and inviting. The natural light and gorgeous views of the property were so relaxing and just what we needed. The whole house is well cared for and CLEAN. We enjoyed, too, the little touches: high quality dishes, coffee, a s'mores gift basket, the retractable awning with lights, high quality linens, and incredibly comfortable beds. It felt like a five star hotel experience but with more privacy and much more room! Thanks for an incredible stay!

As grandparents, we wanted to created a home that offers lots of fun and wholesome summer activities for kids, families and adults of all ages. This unique home has so much to offer with the gardens and big yard and the pool, multiple public beaches closeby and the proximity to fabulous activities. We love to walk shoreline at West Park or Pier Cove to collect sea glass and rocks. Our grandchildren love going to Oval Beach, climbing dunes at Saugatuck Dunes State Park, biking and kayaking closeby, eating the best Deli sandwiches at the Farmhouse Deli, going on the dune buggy ride or the “donut boat" ride. All ages enjoy picking strawberries, peaches and blueberries in season super close-by at Cranes. We love to take our young grandchildren to the Tiny Toy store in Saugatuck and then walk to Kilwin’s for ice cream. I’m obsessed with growing plants so enjoy vegetable gardens/flowers galore and chickens (all enclosed) in the summer. We have a ping pong table and many family games and puzzles. We are always working on projects and have updated about everything! The laundry room is large and a pleasure to use ! We expanded pool deck to make more room for new lounge chairs, the poolside dining table and the Weber gas grill. The small heated pool is the best entertainment for children and families! The new outdoor shower is super convenient before and after swimming. There are so many places to explore and fun things to do close by but then again the house is pretty magical and hard to leave! I am an avid cook so have a fully equipped kitchen with high end amenities. This is above and beyond your average rental- it is definitely an upscale experience and very well maintained. It is a private home that is rented occasionally. We limit the number of rentals and people to keep it clean and lightly used and we welcome people who will treat it with the utmost respect.

Great location - convenient to fun activities for all ages...wineries, dune rides, beach walks, town of Saugatuck, Douglas, South Haven and Holland! Located on one of the nicest and most desirable roads in Saugatuck area . Open floor plan, large spaces, bright and cheery with 62 plus windows allows you to enjoy the outside while inside! You will see lots of deer and nature from the windows. Enjoy the huge yard , hammock and so many gardens- and it is a beautiful location with lots of space that is perfect setting for family activities. The private heated pool is small and sparkling clean and heated. We have grandchildren of all ages so the house has baby gates and a baby pool fence, high chair, toys, etc. we have you covered if you have young children! We are always working on the home and recently added custom closet organizers, remodeled the back entry, new window wells and egress windows, new regulation fencing for the pool, updated laundry room and bathrooms. We care that you have a wonderful time on your vacation and work hard to make it a wonderful place for you to spend your precious vacation time.

What makes this property unique

Pool, beautiful very large yard and multiple fruit and vegetable gardens, chickens, amazing desirable location, very clean home with high end appointments. There are multiple spaces you can "hang out"...a living room, a family room and a basement in addition to two indoor dining areas and one dining table outside. We only rent it occasionally and limit the rental occupancy to 8 people to minimize wear and tear and traffic in the home. Purchased in summer 2020 and renovated by retired professionals whose hobby is renovating homes. This is definitely a cut above your typical rental that has old furniture and minimal amenities and is managed by a company. We are grandparents and know how to set it up for visiting families and guests. We offer a more personalized experience and go above and beyond to make it a super place for you. Quite a bit of the furniture and throw carpets are new and some quite expensive so we ask you take your shoes off and wear slippers in the house and to take care to leave the home in great shape. White towels and extra sheets are provided if need to place on furniture to protect from spills from children (or adults!)
