Beckenham 111 is a wonderful three-bedroom, three-bath villa on the 9th hole of Port Royal Golf which is one of the closest complexes to the beach in this area! This villa is located on the first floor for easy access to and from the on-site amenities that include a shared pool to take a dip when the weather heats up. Plus, you will be a short walk to the beach. The main bathroom has been recently remodeled! This villa also features a beautiful sunroom overlooking the golf course with ample seating, so sip a favorite cocktail in style as the sun goes down. Plus, movie nights will be a breeze with the DVD player and TV.

Beckenham Unit 111
Our stay at Beckenham 111 was a bit disappointing. Though the unit felt spacious for four adults and the sunroom was a plus, the upkeep of the condo was lacking. A new (?) A/C wall unit had been installed in one bedroom, which apparently did not fit the original space, because we walked in and found the cover lying on the floor and patches of paint/plaster torn off the wall; not a great first impression. To make things worse, roaches appeared throughout the week—in the bedrooms and one even on the kitchen counter. The kitchen was minimally stocked (with an abnormal abundance of colanders, but limited pan options) and there was no broom accessible, even outside (though a vacuum and hand vac were on-site). There were no spare bulbs available to replace those that were burned out. More doormats would also be helpful, for wiping shoes/feet when coming back inside, even tough we honored the request to take our shoes off inside the unit.

Roomy, private, clean and updated! Everything we needed and more to enjoy our family getaway to start the New Year off right. Close to many activities and fun just relaxing on the outside decks and enclosed seasons room. Our family had a “Great Time at a Great Place!”

Could be 5-star, but...
Pros: - Furnishings (beds, chairs, couches) comfortable & kitchen well-equipped. - Location w/canal behind & view of golf course provided alligator, deer & bird sightings. - Easy check-in/-out & communication was prompt. Cons: - We were waiting at 4pm to enter, but cleaning staff did not leave until about 4:10. Originally gave 5 stars for cleanliness, but later found trash, toys & opened Pringles can under couch/bed. - One BR & the back porch area in this condo seem to have been add-ons to the original unit, since both areas had separate AC units in addition to the central air that cooled the main areas. Those units are older, noisy & the one in the BR gave out mid-stay. Maintenance tried to fix, but finally determined that it needed to be replaced, which didn't happen before we left. Vacasa did compensate us for this. - All throw & area rugs need to be replaced, especially the 2 round ones in the bathrooms - old, dirty & stained. - Sliding screen doors to decks need to be replaced or fixed so that they slide properly. Maintenance tried to fix, but they were still difficult to open/close. You should know if you rent: - Walk to beach could be 5 min. if you walk quickly & don't have little ones or anything to pull/carry. Otherwise, it's closer to 10 min. There are 2 ways to get there, one through the Mariott resort lots & delivery areas; the other to Islander Beach Park through the neighborhood. Use the gate by the parking area which puts you right out on the street & you don't have to walk through the condo complex. Bottom Line: Could be a great choice if needed updates/repairs are addressed.

There were three couples in our group and this home worked perfectly to support us. Although a little dated, it was well equipped with cookware, knives, glasses, W/D, and related necessities. The unit was just around the corner from a beach access. Parking was ample and private (it is the end unit and, thus, the parking area is cordoned off from the other parking areas. One particularly helpful feature was the heater/AC unit in the atrium. It was quite chilly the first few days of our visit, but the atrium heater quickly warmed it up making that feature fully usable. The only issue we had was getting the main heating unit to continue working. The first three attempts were met with a tripped electrical breaker. But, I gave it one last try before reporting and it started working and remained on for the entire week without issue. Vacasa provided correct information as to the door code (it did have one extra button to push, but I soon figured that out). All in all I give this two thumbs up and a five star rating.
