Welcome to your perfect Hawaiian getaway at The Beach Villas at Kahaluʻu — the newest luxury condo complex on Aliʻi Drive. Our location truly cannot be beat. We are located directly next to famous Kahaluʻu Beach Park, one of the best snorkeling beaches on the Big Island, and only about 50 yards from the sand.

The Best Snorkeling & Surfing Location in Kona

Kahaluʻu Bay is known for:

You can snorkel morning, noon, or sunset since the beach is just steps away. During winter months, the north side of the bay becomes a favorite local surf spot.

We even have bike rentals conveniently located right in front of the complex.
We love the local open air trolley that runs about every hour taking you to Keauhou Shopping Center to the South (about 1 mile) or to town to the North. $1.00 per ride. It is very convenient. We love taking it to town in the evening.

Our grandsons loved their surf lessons here so much it became the highlight of their summer vacation.

And don’t forget to grab Hawaiian shave ice from the local food truck by the beach!

We had an amazing stay at this Kona home and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. My two sisters and I had a wonderful stay at Gail’s lovely condo. It is so nicely decorated and comfortable. The proximity to Kahalu’u Beach Park is unbeatable. Situated steps from Ali’i Drive, access to a bus that runs downtown is super convenient. The beds were very comfortable. Beautiful kitchen too. We enjoyed the lanai (I got a kick out of hearing the lifeguard’s occasional announcements from Kahalu’u). I hope to return soon!

Really enjoyed our short stay here. Close to magic sands beach which provided a full day of boogie boarding and sun for the kiddos. Boogie boards, chairs, umbrella and cooler in the complex were helpful! Didn’t get to try any snorkeling at the beach across as it was closed but still a great place!

Fantastic location...and cockroaches.My husband searched long and hard for a great place for our stay at the Big Island. A huge criteria was being close to snorkeling for my son and I, which this location 100% delivers on.However, we paid for luxury and got a location that had baby cockroaches in the dishwasher, old roach traps with droppings around it on the kitchen floor and adult cockroaches running across the kitchen counter.We reached out to Gail and she had her handy man out right away - who left a big can of Raid on the kitchen counter along with new bait traps (old ones were left). We were told spraying was also done but not near food prep (so I'm thinking base boards...?).After putting away the can of Raid (I shouldn't have to be spraying poison on my vacation), cleaning up and throwing away an old bait station that I saw every time going into the kitchen I hoped for the best. I did not want to leave this location.

 Next day, still cockroaches and then finally after day 3 no more bugs to be seen.I received all the excuses possible. Listen, I'm from central Florida - I get bugs and how to control them. The excuses were flimsy. Either the pest control company needs to be fired or the people who manage the location.So - hopefully the group after us doesn't have the same experience (and probably won't since we raised the issue). Maybe take a chance on this location...?Writing this from Waikiki, another condo that is bug free (whew!).

Wonderful condo!

The condo was beautiful and the lanai had breathtaking views of the ocean and mountains. The common area had a grill and infinity pool, which was an amazing place to watch the sunset. Across the street was a great snorkeling beach. Would definitely recommend and stay again.

If you like to snorkel and surf, you can not beat this location. Gail’s place was so convenient and well stocked with everything you will need. The beautiful sunsets were an added bonus each evening. We would definitely stay here again.

Phil and I are now retired and live in Santa Clarita California. We have 3 grown adult kids that are married and 10 wonderful grandchildren. We have a passion for the tropical life and the ocean and try to get to Hawaii as often as we can. We love swimming and snorkeling, hiking, paddling and exploring and discovering new places on the Big Island,

Why they chose this property

Owning a piece of Hawaii, has always been our dream. We went to Kona in 2007 stayed at The Beach Villas at Kahalu'u, Phase I and were told Phase II would be built. We jumped at the chance to have the first choice for what we think is the best condo in Phase II. The condo has incredible views of the coastline as well as the Beach. We wanted a place for us as well as our now grown and married kids, and grandkids to enjoy. We wanted a gentle beach that would be safe for the children. Kahalu’u Beach Park had that as well as life guards and a pavilion and Reef Teach (a group that will educate you about all the life in the bay) and not to mention the BEST snorkeling on the island. We love being right there only steps away. We have always felt at home with the tropics and the ocean. The landscape and scenery of the Big Island is unparalleled with anything else. From volcanoes to waterfalls to the numerous white, black and green sand beaches. There is so much to discover and places to explore. Kona, the town itself also has a great, laid-back vibe and easy access to beaches, shops, farmer's market, and restaurants.

What makes this property unique

You won't want to leave the Lanai. We have colorful fiestaware dishes to make your table very Hawaiian and beautiful. Cast your views on the swaying palms and ocean, you won't want to leave the privacy of your lanai. I like to pick up a fresh Hawaiian bouquet at the market in town for $10.00 It is sure to bring you enjoyment. Barbeque a steak or some fish down at the pool and take it up to the lanai and enjoy your evening by candle light while listening to Hawaiian music as the breeze gently blows. Bring back the romance. You won't find any more perfect ambience. The view of the coastline as well as Kahalu'u Beach is incredibly breath-taking.
The lanai features beautiful furniture where you can relax, read a book, sip your tropical drink, eat your meals and have your morning coffee.....ahhhh.....Paradise!
