Banyan Tree Penthouse Condo 402 is a spacious, ocean front condo with an ocean view that will leave you breathless. Located on the quiet 4th floor, penthouse level yet so close to the water that you can actually look down and see tropical fish like the yellow tang! Sea turtles, spinner dolphins, humpback whales (when in season) and surfers often entertain you by day and the surf will lull you to sleep each night. The living room features floor to ceiling windows that look as though the ocean is coming inside! The private, tiled lanai is the perfect place to enjoy your coffee in the morning or to have a cocktail and watch a picture perfect sunset in the evening.

Inside you’ll find all the comforts of home. The oceanfront master bedroom has a comfy king bed and the second bedroom a queen and twin so the unit comfortably sleeps four. The fully stocked kitchen is well equipped with everything you need to make meals or prepare for the perfect "sunset happy hour"! Enjoy two flat screen TV’s with over 200 channels, a DVD library, Bluetooth speaker for your tunes and free WiFi. Beach towels, chairs, boogie boards, coolers and an umbrella are supplied for your beach days. Pack fewer clothes for your trip if you like because of the full size Maytag washer and dryer. Air conditioning is throughout the condo to keep you cool on those warmer Kona days!

The Banyan Tree is a small, well-kept complex with only 20 units so it never feels crowded. The property is located as close as you can get to the Pacific Ocean. In fact new construction is no longer allowed to be as close to the ocean as Banyan Tree. The ocean front pool has mesmerizing views and plenty of comfortable lounge chairs. Barbecue grills and a hot tub are also poolside. A spacious veranda on the second floor with amazing views is available to all Banyan Tree guests for entertaining. Directly next door is a small, sandy beach where the locals access the Banyan Surf site, a famed stretch of water in front of the condo known for fantastic surfing and boogie boarding.

Banyan Tree is centrally located on the sunny side of the Big Island in Kailua-Kona. Top rated restaurants like the Poke Shack and local farmers markets are minutes away. Downtown Kona, with galleries and shops is less than three miles. Historic Alii drive, which is great for ocean walks, is right out the back door. Ready for the beach? Magic Sands Beach is less than a mile away. Kahalu'u Beach is only two miles and has easy snorkeling where you can get up-close to beautiful reefs and abundant sea life. It's also a great place to learn to surf. Postcard perfect beaches such as Hapuna Beach and Kua Bay are to the north and Kealakekua Bay State Historical Park and Captain Cooks monument lie to the south. Also to the south is Two Step Beach, located near Pu’u Honua O Honaunau National Historic Park, which is a perfect snorkeling spot to explore the crystal clear waters of Kona’s coast. Since Banyan Tree is located about halfway up the Kona coast you can easily drive to either end of the island. When you're done just park in your designated parking stall and take the elevator to your penthouse retreat!

Never disappoints!

This was our third time at this unit and it’s always beautiful and the view is awesome! From the surfers to the whales and the giant waves we had on our last day, it can’t be beat!

Great accomodations, clean, comfortable. Outstanding water front views. Directly in front is a favorate surfing spot, so fun to sit on balcony and watch the surfing. Very responsive host.

Perfect spring break

This place was amazing. The best view of the ocean from the lani. The condo was perfect. It was complete with extras like beach towels, chairs and umbrellas. The two bedroom was the right size for our family. The kitchen was supplied with everything we needed. The owners thought of the little things that made the stay perfect. We already looked Into booking for next year at spring break but it was already booked:(. We will be back.

Amazing!!!

Absolutely phenomenal stay! The hosts thought of everything here, from the book of recommendations to coolers, boogie boards and beach chairs, even a coffee grinder, which was put to good use with Kona coffee! Amazing views, awesome location, clean and comfortable.

What a great property, located so close to the ocean with surfers everyday, whales and even a group of dolphins. Everything listed about this condo is correct. Very clean, has everything you need for your stay and close enough to Kona to enjoy all there is to offer. Would definitely stay again. Thanks Kim and Jon, our visit to the Big Island was great. We hope to return some day.

We absolutely loved our stay at Banyan Tree 402. It's a beautiful condo and is very well maintained and clean. No complaints at all. Jon and Kim are awesome they give their all to this beautiful home. We will be back in 2018! You will not want for anything. The ocean is so close the sound is magical. We have traveled all over the US and other countries…….the view from the condo is one of the best ever! We loved having coffee on the Lani each morning and watching the surfers. The condo was fully stocked with everything we needed and then some. Location was perfect. The “book”,which was very comprehensive, was very helpful. There were two couples staying here and we felt right at home. Great way for us to Celebrate 41 years of marriage. Thanks for sharing your piece of heaven.

Perfect location by the ocean!

We stayed 5 nights & wished it could have been longer! Everything as depicted on the VRBO website. Well appointed & very clean! Watched surfers, saw green sea turtles and yellow tang fish from the balcony on our first morning and a spectacular sunset our first night! Located right on the beach road to Kailua-Kona with easy access to restaurants and beautiful beaches nearby . Highly recommend this condo! You will not want to leave! If snorkeling, go on your own to Kahalu’u Beach Park just a few miles south! We saw sea turtles & a large variety of fish! Great place for all skill levels! Great vacation! Thanks, Kim!!

A wonderful spot with great owners

We had the great fortune to stay at at the Banyan Tree condo of Kim & Jon. They were truly accommodating of all or questions during the booking process and provided a seamless check-in process. The unit is exceptional. It is clean, up-to-date and right on the ocean. REPEAT: Right. On. The. Ocean. You could not ask for a better getaway. Our advice to you is, if this unit is available, book it!

Unbeatable Views

We made a great decision selecting this vacation for our family of 4. Although it was a little small for what we would normally prefer, we spent tons of time on the lanai watching the waves and the surfers. Our kids are in college and one boy one girl and they had to share a bedroom which was really the only negative. The "Master" bed is open to the living room and only separated by a sliding door that doesn't fully close. The location of this place is great in that it is about a 10 min or less drive to the bars/shops/restaurants of Kona and only a mile to Magic Sand beach. We could get just about anywhere in 10 to 15min by car. The property was very well equipped. We did not use the pool but loved the beach chairs and umbrella and used them multiple times. Overall a great experience and we loved the place.

Beautiful condo, Amazing view!

Overall, our experience with this condo was amazing. It is just as pictured, and the view of the ocean couldn’t be any closer! There are boogie boards, beach chairs, and an umbrella to use, which was great for our trips to the beach. The kitchen was well stocked, and everything was clean. The pool and hot tub for the complex were perfect, and we often had the pool to ourselves. We didn’t use the barbecue grills, but there are two in the pool area. The only small issue is that in order to sit on the beautiful patio, you have to turn off the air-conditioning in the condo first, or hot air blows on you from the air conditioner unit at the end of the patio. As long as you remember to do this, it’s not really a problem. I highly recommend this condo to anyone looking for some relaxation on the big Island.

Views Beyond Words In A Beautiful Condo

We arrived on August 18 for a week stay in Banyan Tree 402. The views were amazing and the condo itself was beautiful. The kitchen was well stocked with every item you could ever need during a vacation. The beach chairs, towels, coolers, and other things to use during your stay were an added bonus. It is nice that you can leave unopened pantry items for the next guests. I hate to throw away anything that someone else may can use. Future guests may want to check the condo before they go shopping because there were many items and paper products supplied that we did not need to purchase. We saw some amazing sunsets and enjoyed watching the surfers each day. The parking was great and the pool was very relaxing. Thank you so much for making this a positive and wonderful experience from the beginning to the end. We look forward to returning again someday!

Picturesque, relaxing, and wonderful experience!!!

My wife and I stayed for 6 nights in this location as a celebration of our 30th anniversary. From the fourth floor location, we were able to enjoy beautiful sunsets, spotted sea turtles and fish, watched the surfers and body boarders, and listened to the gentle sounds of the ocean. Kim gave us a call on our second day to check that everything was OK, and it was. There were other visitors in other units, but we never really heard them and they were very friendly when we met on the elevator or ran into them in town. The location is only a few miles from the center of town (plenty of restaurants, Safeway, and ice cream). Hilo is a two to three hour drive but worth a day trip. There is great snorkeling at Two Steps as well as historical significance at Pu`uhonua O Hōnaunau National Historical Park (pay the $5 to park for the week...there is a terrific picnic area if you drive through the lot and take the road to the left of the bathrooms). Just a totally awesome experience!!

Unforgettable!

This property has been one of the most wonderful we have stayed in using VRBO. We arrived and the unit was spotless and ready for our arrival. The unit was also extremely well equipped with everything you could need for a great stay. They literally thought of everything. Things were clear, clean, visible and easy to find and use. The decor was updated and beach themed which was a nice touch and the VIEW… nothing but INCREDIBLE! The building was quiet and we had privacy. Nothing but the sound of waves lulled us to sleep. Be prepared for that because you are definitely ocean side! The owners were super helpful and responsive with prior questions and made us feel right at home during our stay. I truly can’t say more about this beautiful property. It felt as though we lived there ourselves and it was a true home away from home in paradise. We will definitely be back next time the Big Island calls for our return. Mahalo Hawai’i for the incredible memories.

Delightful Stay

We absolutely loved the place! It was just like the the pictures on VRBO and more! Very beautifully decorated in beach and ocean themes with a wall of windows that overlook the ocean. The sunsets were incredible. It was a great place to relax and listen to the ocean waves and watch the surfers. The owners were very thorough in explaining where everything was located (air conditioner and tv remotes etc). It made everything go smoothly in settling into our new “home”. The king size bed was comfortable to our taste. The condo was well taken care of. The one glitch was that the floors and tables were dusty and gritty. We contacted the owners who promptly went into action to get their cleaner in. They seemed very surprised that it wasn’t clean. There had been an air conditioning repairman in to fix something and the owners suggested that it may have happened from the air conditioning that had been worked on. It made sense because the place itself was well prepared and looked like it should have been spotless! I would say that this place was well worth it . We would love to come again and stay here. This place was one of the highlights of our vacation. A memory to cherish forever.

Live next to the ocean and enjoy gorgeous sunsets!

We had the chance to stay in this beautiful condo for an entire month from July - August with our family of 5! Waking each morning to the sounds of the ocean and watching the surfers became our daily routine. The condo is very clean, well decorated, and filled with all of the amenities needed to suit our family. The summer months can be hot and humid, but the condo has a strong cross breeze and several fans in each room that make it comfortable. The washer and dryer were probably the greatest assets traveling with three children! The two-bedroom, two-bathroom configuration worked well for all of us. We watched the gorgeous Kona sun set into the ocean every night from the balcony outside the master bedroom! We made dinners several night and used the grills down at the pool. They are very clean and always available. When we needed a break from the beach or other day trips, the pool was perfect. It overlooked the ocean and the surfers were always entertaining. The hot tub was a fun plus for the adults. The condo is in a convenient location about 2.5 miles south of downtown Kona. Within 30-45 mins, we made it to at least five different snorkeling or swimming beaches. The condo has everything you will need for a day a the beach -umbrella, towels, beach chairs, boogie boards and ice chests. Kim and Jon were great to work with and very accommodating. If you are looking for beautiful sunsets, sounds of the ocean and the comforts of home - this Kona condo is for you!

Excellent!

This condo is exactly as described. Fabulous views. Large and comfortable 2 bedrooms. Very functional kitchen with everything you’d need for cooking and laundry/cleaning. And everything imaginable provided for beach. Building even when filled is quiet inside the unit. It’s also a quite good location with Kailua town about 2 miles in one direction and the local state park and other beaches nearby in the other direction. Kim promptly responds to any questions. All around, an excellent property choice.

We are the Bourgain's from Littleton, Colorado and welcome to our "happy place"! We have been traveling to the Hawaiian islands for over 20 years. After spending time on all the islands we decided the Big Island was our favorite! It seems more laid back and to us more like we envision 'old Hawaii' When we take a beach vacation we always try to find properties where we can see the ocean from our condo and the pool. When we saw Banyan Tree it was the perfect fit!

Why they chose this property

We stayed at the Banyan Tree condos and were blown away by the views, the proximity to the ocean and how private it was. We also liked how it is centrally located on the Kona coast so it doesn't take long to go to the north or south end of the island. It's also right in the middle of many of the best restaurants, markets and shopping on the island. Now that we own Banyan Tree Penthouse #402 we can honestly say we are even more impressed by the attention to detail that is paid to maintain and improve the property for the benefit of the guests. We also love being on the top floor, the views are hard to believe and it's so quiet with no one above you.

Direct Ocean Front. You simply can't stay any closer to the ocean. You're on the quiet top floor but still so close to the beautiful water. You won't find a beautiful pool any closer to the ocean. This is an ocean lover's paradise!
