Welcome to La Posada! The quaint town of Grottoes takes center stage in its close proximity to I81, neighboring the cities of Harrisonburg Waynesboro and Staunton and the towns of Elkton, Mount Crawford and Weyers Cave and with just a hop, you’re in Charlottesville via route 340 to I64. Grottoes residents take great pride in this close knit community. 12-15 minutes to JMU.
Grand Caverns is our Gem, a National Landmark known for being the oldest show cave!

Exactly as described. It is on a quiet street, the house was spotless, had everything we needed and was close to Foodlion (less than 5 mins drive). It was perfect for our weekend as we had a JMU graduation to attend. Took about 20-25mins one way to JMU and was an easy route. Only thing missing was a fenced yard. The neighbors dog that lives behind the property seemed to like having this yard as his own and leaving gifts. So we just took our dogs out the front of the house. Very walkable so our 2 dogs loved walking the neighborhoods also. We would stay they again.

Wonderful cozy home. Plenty of space for the three of us. Served as a great base of operations, being close to many attractions as well as Massanutten. Host was helpful and responsive. Would gladly stay there again.

The home was exactly as described. It was the perfect space for our family, as we were in town visiting family. Great location, quiet neighborhood and quick short walk to a nice little coffee shop. Excellent, and we will definitely be booking it again for our future visits.

Family Weekend at JMU

We had a nice stay and got to enjoy Family Weekend at JMU with our daughter. We loved how the house was decorated and it was larger than I expected. We were able to bring our dog which was nice. Hope to stay again!

JMU hideaway

We were in for graduation and it's a lovely, easy drive to campus. We felt extra lucky because there was a bluegrass festival over at Grand Caverns and it offered a great soundtrack to our festivities. House was spotless. Great communication.

This house is perfect! Super clean, bright and modern. Misty is a fabulous host and was so responsive when I asked any questions. The three bedrooms are a great size as well as the two bathrooms. The kitchen was stocked and had enough plates, cups and silverware for my family. Everything felt brand new! Highly recommend this house and renting from Misty.

Wonderful ranch house stay

This wonderful house was ideally located in Grottoes for our family to visit Charlottesville and Harrisonburg. New and clean throughout, the house was modern and contained the bare essentials to make our stay enjoyable. Misty, our host, was very responsive and made sure we had everything. Highly recommend a stay in Grottoes; we plan on coming back!

Fantastic Stay

We come to Virginia every thanksgiving to visit family and host thanksgiving. This place was perfect for our family. The only very small issue was it seems the neighbors dog loves to leave presents in the yard. Other than that everything else was great!

Great place and awesome location.

This was an awesome, cozy place to stay in the area. We planned a two-day trip to Massanutten and this unit was about 20 minutes from there with literally no traffic. Convenience and grocery stores were right down the road. The place is very accommodating, with pretty much everything you need and the host is wonderful. Big thumbs up on this one!

Quick stay to see Subterranean Sound

The house was clean, comfy, and dog friendly. We appreciated there not being a limit to the size of the dogs. We often find "dog friendly" rentals are only open to small breeds.We rented this property for its proximity to the Grand Caverns. It was perfect and cozy, especially on a cold, rainy weekend.

All the major items were 100% for this property: Cleanliness (perfect) Parking (2 driveway spots plus ample street parking) Appliances (fridge, dishwasher, laundry all excellent) Homewares (nicely decorated, decent kitchen equipment) Location (grocery store nearby and a few dining options, very close to Grand Caverns) Wifi (solid) Comms were a little slow, but never negatively impacted my plans. Great for weekend trip to JMU

House was great, travel to and from JMU campus was easy drive. Walking distance to one yummy restaurant (Lil’ Gus’s’). Previous reviews said mattress and pillows weren’t comfortable. We thought the mattresses were just fine. The pillows were very thin/soft so if you need lots of thick pillows, I suggest bringing your own. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to others

Nice Stay

House is a appealing remodel of an older property. It is the nicest house on the street. We felt safe in this sleepy neighborhood. Very close to caverns which we visited. We found that the house needed a deeper clean but we are quite picky : ) We did not find the living room furniture comfortable or the beds. It was a great location for us as we were visiting with family in Harrisonburg which is about a 20 minute drive away.

Great time at Grottoes

Super cute interior that fit our needs perfectly. Looked like it was decorated by Chip and Joanna Gaines! Surprisingly roomy inside. Loved having the two bathrooms and three bedrooms worked perfect for us, our two adult children and their spouses. We didn't have any young children staying with us. The location was perfect for us as my brother only lived three minutes from this property and that is who we came to visit. We look forward to renting this property again in the future.

Adorable home

The home was just adorable! The host was very easy to get up with. A few issues, the beds were very uncomfortable, there were lots of ants, they had traps but they just weren’t working. We all have that issue from time to time. There were no washcloths, furniture was very uncomfortable… but it really was an adorable house! The layout was great.
