Beautiful property!!! We have decided this will be an annual girls trip now!! Lisa was awesome host. The horses were amazing and we had so much fun feeding them. And the 4 barn kittens were so loving. Def recommend for a girls trip or a romantic getaway!
This home was a perfect choice for our sisters weekend! The host, Lisa, was excellent with communication; both before, during, and after our stay. This home was beautiful & clean inside, with all of the amenities of your own home! Comfortable beds, plenty of towels, stocked kitchen, furniture that just hugged you after a day of travel. Wish I could give more than 5 stars! Gorgeous horse farm with a relaxing, peaceful feel.
We had an excellent stay! Loved the animals and being able to interact with them. The house was spacious and clean. Just as it was described. Two thumbs up all around! This was my second time staying at this property and I’m looking forward to staying there again in the future!
We got a wonderful time playing with the horses, riding and talking to the owner Lisa. At the same time we enjoyed the River trail, taking pictures and playing with the horses.
This property was as amazing as it looks! Lisa was a fantastic and welcoming host. The house was very clean and well stocked with kitchen supplies and linens. The view from the house is georgeous. It is also a perfect place for hiking. We'd love to come back!
My family stayed for two nights over the holidays. Lisa was immediately responsive to our questions and needs. The central kitchen/living area was comfortable and perfect for coffee time in the mornings. We enjoyed watching the horses.
Loved staying here. Fed the horses some carrots, gave the horses and doggos some love. Nice and quiet area. Skipped rocks on the river. Close to skyline drive which is awesome to check out. I’d definitely stay there again and recommend. Owner was a nice wholesome person.

I went on December 30 with my friend and our kids and we enjoyed all about it. It is very clean and organized. The property owner is very friendly and responsive. The farm is charming and the horses are amazing. I recommend this cabin for anyone who would to relax and enjoy the nature and the sound of nature.
This was one of the most peaceful rentals we have stayed in. Tucked back behind acres of farm and surrounded by pastures of beautiful horses. It was a real treat.
Lisa was an exceptional host and responded quickly to any questions we had. She had stocked the kitchen thoughtfully and had everything you might need.
We would love to return here and highly recommend.
The property was exactly as advertised. The house is welcoming with all the amenities. You feel like you're in the middle of no where but no more than 20 minutes from everything you need or want. The horses and goats were tons of fun to visit with. We enjoyed a trail ride, an evening by the fire, and a walk by the river. Lisa was great and super easy to get in touch with. You won't be disappointed if you choose to stay here.
The back house is quiet, charming and surrounded by beauty. I stumbled on the listing when I was late to reserving our visit with my son who attends JMU. He enjoys getting away from the campus and exploring the area. The property is about 25 minutes away and a scenic drive with views of pastures and the mountains. We spent time visiting with the horses and checking out the river and our sons enjoyed the fire pit one night (the view of the stars is amazing). The house itself is spotless, comfortable and well equipped. Lisa, the host is welcoming and responsive. We look forward to staying here again in the future!
The peaceful, secluded location was just perfect after a hectic week. The animals, the sunrise, the comfy, quiet... just what we needed. I wish we could have stayed longer and I hope we can return.
The stay was amazing. For being on a farm, the place is virtually spotless. Very clean. Super easy check in. The easiest check in ever. Lisa is a great host and you reallt feel welcomed. She knows a ton about each horse as well. The house was cool. You could easily communicate with each other anywhere in the house with a light yell but yet had enough space to relax. Theres no wifi and a tv. We didnt use it. We spent a ton of time walking around. Enjoying the kittens and horses. The river was cool addition but nothing compared to the animals. The drive up is gravel for a couple miles. I dont think its anything a civic or camry couldnt do. Was nothing for our 4x4. The only cons are that wifi and the road. Grattoes and Lisa's farm are perfect worth it. You dont need anything but nature and some animals. A perfecr getaway from the NoVA hustle and sounds. This is a perfect restart and refresh. Highly recommend
We had an amazing stay while visiting our daughter at JMU. Check-in and check out was a breeze. Our host Lisa was very responsive and an absolute pleasure. Lisa's horse farm was tucked away in the back of their property. It was quiet, cozy and the horses were so friendly. We walked to the river, it was beautiful! We stargazed and took pics of galaxies that are not viewable from Florida. Overall it was above 5 stars! We will be back. Thank you Lisa!!!!
Beautiful, comfortable, clean and easy to communicate with property owners. So peaceful, the horses were amazing! Would stay here again and recommend to anyone.
This place is beautiful if you enjoy nature and animals. There are horses all over the place and the home is very cute and clean. I would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a night off the grid with all the comforts of home
This was the perfect Memorial Day get-away with myself and my adult children and their SOs. As soon as they got out of the car, they were in awe of the horses and goats. House had all amenities needed with a large fire pit for nice bonfires. We visited a winery and hiked Hawksbill during our stay, but there is a lot more to do in the area, even though it seems as you’re secluded.. Definitely would recommend.
Hello, I'm Lisa, your host. I am a full-time horse trainer and dog breeder. This farm is my home with my boyfriend, Kenny. This farm is home to quarter horses, several labs, goldens, a Bernese mountain dog and a pug, and a goat. As a professional horse trainer, I offer riding lessons and trail rides on the farm. Also, longer rides in the mountains with small groups are available. I enjoy meeting new people and making friends with all. Hosting this Airbnb allows wonderful opportunity for both!
