Peaceful Lake Living in Modern Comfort
Relax and unwind at Lake Dreams Cottage. Located on a quiet country road, this 100+-year-old home is newly renovated with modern amenities, style, and plenty of room for an amazing family gathering.
UPDATED: currently, pursuant to the town, we must take reservations for a minimum of 30 days. This has been reflected in our daily pricing.
Enjoy swimming, fishing or beach glass hunting, watch the spectacular sunsets over Lake Erie, and help yourself to lawn games, grilling, and lots of outdoor seating. If you get a rainy day, enjoy the well-stocked game room, streaming TV services, or curl up in the reading nook with a book from our library. We’ve taken care to provide all the amenities you need -- all you have to do is show up and start making memories!
Gorgeous, full-view sunsets, the lake is steps out of the back door. Wall of windows in the back for stunning views of the lake from the living room (lake room), sunroom/dining room and kitchen. Historic 100 year old+ cottage that has been lovingly renovated. 3 bedrooms each with a queen bed with water views from every bedroom! Living room, game room, 2 full bathrooms, one with walk in tile shower and rainfall showerhead, one with tub and shower combination.
Recently renovated kitchen and bathroom including granite countertops in the kitchen and bathroom, 3 queen beds, one sleeper sofa, 2 bunk beds (weight limit of 85 pounds on the upper bunk). We have a fully stocked kitchen. Since we use the house so often ourselves, it is well-supplied with dishes, cooking and baking items we use most often. We have a regular coffee maker, a single serve Keurig coffee maker and a tea kettle. The stove is gas and there is a microwave and dishwasher. We have inside and outside dishes.
We provide all linens and towels--except beach towels. You must provide your own towels to use at the lake.
Thinking of a place to relax during the cold months? Why stay at the lake? You may be lucky enough to watch the bald eagle and her babies on the ice. Or watch the ice shift formations. Or how the sun reflects of the water that is so calm that it looks like grass. Or watch the waves. It’s always different and always beautiful. There are two fireplaces—one is a gas fireplace stove upstairs in the balcony bedroom and the other is an electric fireplace (which has a separate button for heat if you just want to watch the flames) in the tv console table in the lake room. There are separate temperature controls for the upstairs and downstairs. We are 45 minutes from prime Western New York skiing.
The water level outside of our back door is shallow for many yards out and there are sandy spots as well. Lake Erie is rocky so we suggest water shoes for comfort. The metal stairs are seasonal only. We may have to remove them if the weather conditions warrant it during your stay so they do not get damaged. They will be installed for you if conditions allow. Please do not try to add or remove them. Please note that we may have to remove them during your stay if conditions are bad. We will contact you if that needs to happen. It takes about 10-15 minutes and we do not need access to the house.
You can fish directly from the backyard--small mouth bass and walleye. One of our guests caught a 6 pound fish standing in our backyard! We have a bait shop within a 3 minute walk from the house. We do not provide fishing gear but we do have a charcoal grill to cook up what you catch! We suggest you look up NYS fishing regulations for more information.
The house is over 100 years old and began as a small cottage. It has been added onto several times. As a result, there are steps and height differences on each level. The ground outside is uneven, including the walkway to the lake. Please mind your step. If you have difficulty walking, this property may not be the right fit for you.
All bedrooms are upstairs. There is a sleeper sofa downstairs in the living room. If you plan on using the sleeper sofa, please let us know so we can have bedding available. Keep in mind that the upper bunk bed is only rated for up to 85 lbs.
There is no air conditioning. However, the lake breezes, ceiling fans, and floor fans should keep you cool. There is a floor fan with remote in the laundry room. You may move the floor fan to whatever room you wish.

Use care and caution at the lakefront. There is a fence, but the stairs are open. Watch your children (and clumsy adults) closely as it is a steep drop into shallow water or rocks.
Lake Erie is a very large body of water (that's why it's one of the Great Lakes!!) It can be very rough and rocky. Weather conditions can change suddenly. We are not responsible for your decision to go into the lake.
We offer a peaceful, tranquil lake experience. We do not allow parties. With permission, we may allow additional daytime overnight guests but there should never be more than 10 adults in the house. Sound carries on the water so we ask that you be mindful of that especially from 10pm-8am.
We use the house ourselves as much as we can. My son is severely allergic to cigarette smoke. We must insist on no smoking anywhere inside the property so his health and well-being. You will be asked to confirm this when requesting to book.
For security purposes, we have a Ring doorbell which monitors the driveway and front entrance. We also have a security camera in the back facing the lake. It is sporadically checked if the marine forecast calls for high waves so we know whether we need to remove the stairs to the water.
Our home is not child-proofed at all so please keep that in mind.
Seasonally, we also offer kayaks for rent during your stay. They are hard-bodied single person kayaks and one three-person, two-seat inflatable kayak. You must wear a PFD/life jacket while using per law. We provide Coast Guard approved Type 3 life jackets/PFDs for guests to wear while kayaking as part of the kayak fee.

Why they chose this property
We fell in love with the water views out of every room when we saw this house. We poured our heart and soul (and time and money) in renovating it to make it more modern while keeping its lakeside charm. The sunsets are spectacular on this private street in a private, secluded setting.
