In the evenings, gather around the large fire pit with seating for 6+, or enjoy a laid-back dinner at the picnic table area while the breeze rolls off the water.
You’re also just steps away from Captain Mark’s Marina, a full-service spot with fuel, ice, drinks, snacks, and a boat ramp. On weekends, the marina is the heart of local activity, often hosting fishing tournaments, cook-offs, golf cart parades, and fundraisers—giving you a true taste of the Demi John community.
Right across the bayou, the Bastrop Bayou Public Fishing Area features a 200-foot lighted pier, paved parking, and an additional boat ramp, making it an angler’s paradise.
Outdoor enthusiasts will love exploring the nearby Brazoria National Wildlife Refuge, just down County Road 476. Spanning nearly 46,000 acres, the refuge offers hiking, birdwatching, and wildlife viewing across salt marshes, freshwater wetlands, coastal prairies, and forests. Don’t miss the Middle Bayou Trail, a 2-mile elevated path with sweeping prairie views, or the Big Slough Auto Tour and Boardwalk, where you can spot alligators, turtles, birds, and butterflies in their natural habitats.
Looking to relax on the sand? Surfside Beach is only 8 minutes away by car! Pack your cooler and head over for a sun-soaked beach day, or keep the fishing going in nearby Drum Bay, Christmas Bay, West Galveston Bay, the Intracoastal Canal, or the Gulf of Mexico.

Meet the Owners of Beach Resort Services – A Family Tradition Since 1992
At Beach Resort Services, we are more than just a vacation rental company—we are a small, family-owned and operated business with deep roots in Surfside Beach. Our story began in 1957, when our parents stopped in Surfside to fish after their honeymoon in Galveston. What started as a weekend getaway soon became a lifelong tradition, leading to summers spent here as a family before finally making Surfside our home in 1976.
In 1992, our mother and founder, Catherine, who had been managing properties with Brannan Realty since 1976, took over as property manager for 13 homeowners in need—and that’s how Beach Resort Services was born. Since then, we have continued to grow, but we have never lost sight of what makes us special—family, tradition, and a passion for helping others create unforgettable beach memories.
Today, Beach Resort Services is run by a dedicated team of three—Denise, Drew, and Hope—who work tirelessly to provide exceptional service, trustworthy management, and a personal touch to every guest and homeowner we serve.
Why Choose Beach Resort Services?
✔ Locally Owned & Operated – We live, work, and play in Surfside Beach, so we know the area inside and out.
✔ Experienced & Trusted – With over 30+ years in business, we’ve built lasting relationships with homeowners and guests.
✔ Committed to Making Memories – We love what we do and are passionate about helping families create their own Surfside traditions.
When you rent with us, you’re not just booking a house—you’re joining a Surfside family that has been making beach memories for generations. We look forward to welcoming you and making your stay as special as Surfside has always been to us!
