3 bedrooms, 2 Bathrooms, Beds for 10 guests with additional blow-up mattresses if needed (one queen and one single), and a pack-n-play makes it so even the littlest guest can enjoy their stay. We are very family friendly and tried to think of everything all ages would need at this house to build memories to last a lifetime.

Rated one of the Top Five VRBO rentals on Manasota Key for its size. You will not want to pass up a chance to enjoy all it has to offer both inside and outside of the house.

Welcome to Paradise!

Enjoy your get away at this spacious, well appointed home with updated furnishing, top of the line appliances, granite counter tops and cabinets throughout, situated just steps from Gulf of Mexico beaches.

Manasota Key, a quiet barrier island on the Gulf of Mexico is located just south of Longboat Key, Lido Key, Siesta Key, and Casey Key. It is also just north of Fort Meyers and Sanibel Island. You can day trip to explore some of these other beaches and return to the comfort of your own home away from home each night.

The Sugar Shack has been recently updated with new flooring and furnishings. It comes complete with WIFI and high-speed internet, if you choose to stay "on the grid", however after a day or so in paradise, getting off-the-grid becomes much easier.

The Primary bathroom is finished with a granite counter top, ceramic tile floor, and combination tub shower. Guest bathroom has a granite counter top and a ceramic tile stall shower. There is also an outdoor shower to wash off your sandy feet.

All 3 bedrooms have over-sized closets and televisions for your enjoyment. The primary (upstairs) bedroom has a queen bed, the downstairs bedroom has a queen bed, and the bunk room has a full over full bunk bed with a twin pull put out trundle & an additional twin bed.

Imagine being located on Manasota Key and staying less than 150 yards from the beach!

Lounge in the sun or under the moonlight on the 2nd floor large deck, or enjoy some R&R on the large covered ground lanai spending your time on the porch swing or hammocks. Enjoy your meals under the lanai, the ceiling fans will help keep you cool as you take in all this property has to offer.

At night enjoy sitting by the propane fire as you make S'mores and talk about the memories you created at Manasota Key.

If the beach is more your thing, which we suspect it probably is, fill up the Sugar Shack's beach-wagon with the supply of beach toys for the kids, chairs and umbrella to enjoy the warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico. We also provide 3 adult Kayaks, 4 kid kayaks, 4 paddle boards, and life jackets that you can be used during your stay (based on the condition from the previous guests).

If fishing is more up your alley use our poles (based on the condition from the previous guests) and fish from the beach, or from Lemon Bay. Both are under 150 short steps away from the Sugar Shack.

Shell & shark tooth hunting is a popular way to also pass the time on Manasota Key, you won't come home empty handed. You will find more shark teeth here than any other beach around us.

Cruise around the Island on one of the bikes or scooters that we provide. We offer lots of sizes of bikes and helmets so that your whole family can enjoy (based on the condition from the previous guests).

The Sugar Shack has all of the cooking utensils you need to make your favorite meals at your home away from home. There are several restaurants with live entertainment that are a short jaunt from the home (walking or bike riding distance for most). More than enough places to visit a new one every night during a weeks stay.

Golf, Jet Ski's, Charter Fishing, Snokeling, Dolphin Watching Tours, Parasailing, and Boat rentals are available on the Island, less than 5 minutes away. The Sugar Shack binder will have information on all of these activities to help you plan once you arrive.

The Gem of the Island

The Sugar Shack is the absolute best rental on the island. They think of everything you could possibly need and supply it for you. From chairs to relax in to paddle boards. We will be staying again for sure.

A little piece of paradise

An amazing property in a quiet and tranquil area. Short walk to the beach which is amazing! We found hundreds of sharks teeth and the water was clear! Short walk to the tiki bar and restaurants. We kayaked in the bay and saw tons of dolphins. We loved the house which had everything you could think of (besides a oool or hot tub).

Everything about this place was great. The location is awesome, the beach is full of shark teeth just waiting to be found, and just the ease of the rental process was great. They provide everything you could want to spend all day out on the beach, even kayaks for the bay side. Would definitely recommend to anyone thinking of vacationing in or around Manasota Key.

I grew up in Kansas when I was younger, lived in New Jersey for most of my childhood, and moved to Wyoming to go to college and never left. The reason I never left is because I met my wife and she is Wyoming raised. I have a son and a daughter that I enjoy coaching in their sports and spending time with. They are growing way too fast and my daughter will be in college in the next couple of years. I run an electrical wholesale company and my wife is a 4th grade teacher. Wyoming has beautiful locations and amazing people, but our favorite place has always been the beach. We found Manasota Key a few years ago and it quickly became our second home and the beach we always wanted to return to. We enjoy spending time at the Sugar Shack and bringing our friends and family to our very favorite place.

Why they chose this property

Manasota Key reminds me a lot of Wyoming with the laid back atmosphere and quiet location. It is a hidden gem in southwest Florida and I am so lucky that my wife stumbled upon it a couple of years ago when we were looking for a new beach to visit. The Sugar Shack has everything that we were looking for when purchasing a vacation property. We love how close it is to the beach and the bay, and feels safe for our kids to explore. It is on a quiet, dead end street and feels like your own little oasis. We wanted to add a few amenities for our kids' to use when we get the chance to visit. They enjoy kayaking, paddle boarding, and bike riding at Manasota Key so those are a few new additions to this property. We also enjoy roasting S'mores in Wyoming on our cooler summer evenings and we wanted to be able to enjoy those in Manasota as well, so we added an outdoor propane fireplace in the backyard. Kids grow way too fast and we figured now would be the perfect time to own a house in Manasota so that our kids' can enjoy it with us before they go off to college in a few years. We love the Sugar Shack and are so excited to share it with our friends and other families in hopes that they also create some lifelong memories and want to visit our house again.

What makes this property unique

The reason that we decided on the Sugar Shack is the location. How could you go wrong having the ocean and the bay 150 steps away? My family has created many memories on Manasota Key and we believe that by having a place we can we spend time at as a family we can continue to make these memories with our kids' and some day our grandkids. With us living in Wyoming it doesn't allow us a chance to visit all of the time, so when we cannot be in Manasota we are hoping that other families enjoy this area as much as we do and want to continue to come back to visit like we did. The Island is a quiet location making it feel safe for us to let our kids explore the area and enjoy being kids. The Sugar Shack is also within 2 1/2 hours of lots of our other favorite Florida places (Disney World, Sanibel Island, Clearwater, Siesta Key, and St. Johns Pass) so it allows us to continue to visit these places, but still return to our home at night. In Wyoming most towns are 1 1/2 hours away from each other, so these day trips are not really that far for us. They might seem a little too far for you to do a day trip to, but if you visit even just one during your stay you won't regret it.
