This cabin was absolutely lovely! It was spotless and super cozy! Sarah went above and beyond to make sure we had a great stay and it was much appreciated! Definitely recommend!
Nice cozy cabin on the lake. Cabin was clean and had everything you need for your stay. The owner Sarah was friendly and quick to respond to any questions. We would stay there again.
The location is beautiful. The house had everything you needed. Lake air was nice. The host was very tentative to my needs. Replies were quick.Issued addressed promptly , elderly parent had east access - minimal steps , works for all sized family and Fido’s!!
The lake is your front yard! Beautiful views. We enjoyed our visit. Although a bit rough around the edges, it’s a cute cabin.
Hosts do their very best to accommodate guests needs.
Water toys abundant! We hope to return.
We very much enjoyed our stay at Cabin 3. The cabin was clean and had a older cottage charm (it reminded me of my grandma's house). We loved the access to the lake, as did our dogs. For any dog owners there are 2 dogs next door. Because of some stronger winds, we didn't end up using the firepit. We 100% plan to stay here again.
Cabin is easily found and is on the lake. Beautiful yard to just sit and watch the sunset or the boats on the lake. Cabin needs to be opened up a few hours prior to guest arrival to eliminate a musty smell, but one fresh air coming in it was perfect😊 The yard is not completely fenced for dogs and there are dogs next door so make sure you have some way to contain your pets when outdoors. Cabin was well stocked, beds comfy, very clean, and very welcoming. Host communicated perfectly with us. Definitely would recommend

Disappointed
Location was good but the house was not maintained well the bathroom smells like urine there was soap scum and hair in the shower the bathroom window does not open the vanity light bulbs are Burt out
The water side bedroom mini blinds don’t go up so can’t look out the window and the window doesn’t open freely
My wife had to clean the refrigerator and coffee pot that was disgusting
The barbecue grill was disgusting hadn’t been cleaned in a long tile David sent a guy over to clean it at 7am
So hot woke up along with both fire pits full of trash
Grass service was supposed to be on fridays but grass was never cut
Me and my wife were there for a wedding we should not have to be interrupted by neighbors up till 5 am
So no rest
We wouldn’t stay here ever again
Cabin number 1 and 2 where no better both where occupied by the grooms families

Paul thank you for your feedback. We had not had a complaint like this about the bathroom so it is duly noted. As far as the windows they are being replaced in 2 weeks so that is already being addressed. Usually our neighbors are pretty tame. Unfortunately, we have no control over them.
Check in was super easy. Communication with host was great. Dave and his wife couldn’t have been nicer or more accommodating. The views were spectacular, esp the sunsets. We spent the week swimming and fishing. The fishing out front of the cabin and just west of the cabin was spectacular action. The best we’ve had in years. The cabin provided everything you need for a week stay. It’s a five star place for sure. We’ve already discussed as a finely staying there again next year. And now a few things that fell short of our expectations. The bathroom could have used a little better cleaning upon move in. There is no washer and dryer, but there’s a laundromat literally 3 minutes from the cabin. The sun porch on the side of the house was always too hot. It had the prettiest views of any of the rooms, but it was just too hot. The dining area was located in the sun room and was therefore unusable, making dining indoors awkward. To be fair, we did stay during the hottest week of the year. In cooler weather, we would have spent all of our time out there. And lastly, the water was so shallow, knee deep for hundreds of feet, that swimming was challenging unless you waded out a really long way. Those are all very nit picky things. Overall, you can’t find a rental property that is nicer or provides more than this place. Again, it’s a five star rating for sure. My family has been going to Houghton lake for decades and have stayed at a different place every year for the last 10 years at least. This is the first place in years that we all agree we should rent this place again. Thank you Dave for the wonderful time.

Had to clean upon arrival, plastic sheets, improper description
We loved our stay here overall. I had to clean the kitchen and the bathroom because chips were in the floor and a wet wash cloth was in the shower full of sand. The place had one queen bed and two twin beds crammed into one tiny room. The plastic sheets were really uncomfortable for all of us. Like sleeping in a hospital. The owner send us picture of his old chairs claiming we pulled the foam out of the bottom. These chairs were never sat on by any of us because the room was to small with a pull up couch. Definitely not a house that sleeps 8. The bbq engulfed one of the retired police officers in flames when we were trying to get it started. We had to fill the propane tank as well. All in all it was a rustic cabin with great sunsets. We had great family memories.
We rented the property to attend Tip Up Town. The property is perfect for a few friends to stay and enjoy the lake. I would definitely stay here again.

View of the lake was beautiful!
Very clean, well supplied. Great communication with David- he was very accommodating and replied very quickly. No issues. Great price. We’ll be back!
He even had a DVD player I could use for my workout dvds :)
I wasn't looking for fancy but I did want waterfront... I wanted to relax and forget the world for a while as we both have high pressure jobs...this was the ticket. Well equipped..if it had a tub it would have been perfect. We will book again.
