About the host
Hosted by Kate Elliott

Hi! I'm Kate. I love travel and adventure, and am honored to share my cabin with those who also cherish the opportunity to explore new places. I've lived all over the world, currently calling the beautiful green mountains of Vermont my home. I chose to set roots in Stowe based on my passion for snowboarding Mount Mansfield and hiking the alpine trails of Smuggler's Notch. My goal is to offer my home so that you too may enjoy these amazing places knowing a cozy place to put up your feet, break bread and lay your head awaits you at the end of your day of fun.
Why they chose this property
At the Mansfield Cabin we know how important it is to stay healthy *and* well connected. We are committed to a rigorous cleanliness protocol, including a 24-hour minimum grace period in between guests. We are also committed to offering the fastest possible wifi Stowe has to offer (~300Mbps), perfect for simultaneous zoom meetings and Netflix viewings!
The Mansfield Cabin is a 1970's home designed for a relaxing, no-frills getaway. In an attempt to preserve its charm, you'll find some aesthetic details of the home remain authentic to its era. The living room is an open format connected to the dining and kitchen area, anchored by a working fireplace, and ideal for gathering many around the hearth. In winter its sure to keep you warm. In the summer, you can enjoy the sun out on the deck, which opens off of the living/dining area through huge sliding glass doors. And for those who are young at heart and wish to recall the feeling of summer camp, the second floor bedroom offers a bunk bed!
We know that Vermont's fresh air is all you'll need for your visit, but extra perks of this cabin include air conditioning (for those rare hot summer days), and a large, flat screen, wifi TV in the living room (for those mellow movie nights). We also have a perfect space on the lawn for a small outdoor fire, so remember to bring some wood and s'mores! If outdoor grilling is your style, the cabin also offers a small gas-fired grill *and* a small charcoal grill.
This cabin is situated on a wooded, 1.4 acre lot with plenty of space between you and the surrounding neighbors. You have access to the entire house (2 finished floors as well as basement), and can utilize the yard as well.
In winter, navigating our beautiful mountainside neighborhood is possible in any type of vehicle but all-wheel-drive vehicles add enhanced peace of mind.
While the Mansfield Cabin is perfect for families, please note that we do not have baby cribs.
Fire wood is not included with your rental.
