This is our second stay in this beautiful home; there are simply no words for people who share their treasured possessions with guests from everywhere. The home is obviously so loved and comfortable, complete with a welcoming loaf of homemade friendship bread and a bottle of lovely wine. We are already looking forward to our next visit to little piece of heaven!

This was our 2nd visit to this amazing property! A spectacular setting with absolutely everything you could want for a wonderful vacation. Taking the time to explore the gorgeous Schoodic Peninsula from this house was fabulous. We used the detailed information left by the homeowners to find fun places to eat, secret spots to explore and unique activities to do. Any questions about the house and the information was located in the book. A beautiful house and location…. We’ll definitely be back!

Beautiful stay in Maine

This house is incredible with everything you could need! Everything about the house was perfect and exactly as described! Our family loved the decor, house and of course the view! We loved (and used) the detailed binder that was left with any questions you could have about the house or where to go and what to do in the area! Thank you allowing us to use your perfect house! We’d love to visit next year again.

Unbelievable view!!

What a perfect place! The house was extremely comfortable and well equipped. Old quilts everywhere! And the view was spectacular! Beautiful huge granite rocks to sit on while watching the tide come in or out. Definitely will come back!

Peaceful and beautiful Maine vacation home

Lovely cottage and location, quiet, low-key, fun local hikes. The cottage is warm and welcoming, comfortable in every aspect, with thoughtful details. Well-equipped kitchen. Cozy inside, many books and puzzles, with a range of places to enjoy being outside--deck with grill, hammock, steps to the rocky shoreline. Owner very responsive. One of our favorite places!

A total escape

My husband and I had the most relaxing time here! The house is so special with so much interesting detail and thoughtful decor. We enjoyed sitting on the deck drinking coffee, walking down to the rocks to see boats go by and just relaxing. We had a great time exploring the local area as well and we can’t wait to come back! Very clean and comfortable and Sally was easy to reach for questions- She checked in with us to make sure everything was going OK. We really enjoyed the bottle of wine and cake that was left for us as well! Highly recommend!

Relaxing Getaway

My wife and I had such a great week at this wonderful property. The house was so warm and comfortable, we immediately felt right at home. Watching the sunrise while we had our coffee each morning on the rocks was amazing... not to mention the bald eagles, seals and lobster boats. What a treat! Sally could not have been nicer. The fresh flowers, delicious friendship bread and wine was unexpected and appreciated. We're so glad we chose to spend a week at this property. It was an unforgettable vacation!

Coastal Maine Perfection

We’ve stayed in a lot of vacation rentals in a lot of wonderful places over the years, and this has risen to the top as one of our favorites. There’s so much love and generational history in this house and property. It’s a fun, thoughtful home filled with original art, comfortable furniture, books, toys, interesting nooks and crannies, and of course, stunning views of the Schoodic shoreline and direct access to its rocks and tidal pools, which are teeming with curiosities. The kitchen is small but perfectly useful and well stocked. The bathrooms are updated and spotless. The bedrooms have comfy beds and room-darkening shades (which you’ll want for the 5:15am sunrise!…there’s a perfect viewing through the Oceanside windows). Modern conveniences are included like good Wi-Fi and an easy-to-use Roku tv. That is, if you ever stay inside…the house has easy access to many outdoor coastal experiences. We rode bikes into Prospect Harbor, around the Schoodic Peninsula (awesome), checked out the Schoodic Institute (very nice staff), and over to Winter Harbor for shopping and additional exploring. So much to do…we wish we had 5 more days! Both we and our 6-yr-old daughter were completely enchanted by this treasure of a home…every family deserves one of these. We have every intention of returning. ❤️

Best Maine Vacation Spot

This was like a home away from home with your own private coastline. You could easily stay at the house all week and wake up to the water lapping on the rocks and relax all day long or you could explore the Maine Coast Line. The house made you feel like you were in an Architectural Digest photo shoot with a quaint kitchen, spacious dining and living areas with vaulted ceilings, views of the water from the deck, and relaxing private bedroom locations for quiet time. For anyone that does not like stairs, this house has a comfortable main level bedroom and full bath. We all had fun walking on the rocks and being mesmerized by the water and sunrise views. The Coast Line offers State Parks with all levels of hiking and beautiful views; small unexpected eateries off the beaten path in addition to well know excellent faire locations; galleries, "rock farms", antique stores and other unique Maine finds. The Owners have a fantastic Welcome Book, Local Guide Books, and Maps near the Foyer for you to use during your stay. The fun part is also finding new locations too. The drive to Schoodic Peninsula, Bar Harbor, and Acadia National Park are all quick and easy to access. Bar Harbor is the largest town which offers Lighthouse Tours on a Boat, fantastic views, and a lot of shops & restuarants. Acadia had trails for all levels of hikers and educational areas for children. Schoodic Point is not to be missed for the views, sunrises, and sunsets. We stayed for one week, but we really would like to make it two weeks on our next trip to Maine. Since we found the perfect house and location, we would rent the same house again and definitely recommend it to all our friends.

We had a wonderful time at this lovely property. The peaceful setting had no disturbances from neighbors—just a few deer and a flock of turkeys one morning, which added to the charm. The thoughtfully laid out space was very pet friendly, making it comfortable for the two of us and our dog. Our hosts were attentive and quick to respond, answering all our questions promptly. The views from the property were truly amazing, and its close proximity to the Schoodic Peninsula made it an ideal base for exploring another beautiful area of Maine. Overall, it was a perfect spot for a relaxing and scenic week-long getaway.

Perfection!

We could not have been more pleased with this property. The location was great and the view was stunning. While we spent time exploring the area each day, we also enjoyed time at the house cooking a couple dinners and just relaxing and enjoying the view and the sound of the waves crashing against the rocks. The house had everything needed and more - and was spotless. The hosts left delicious bread, a bottle of wine and some gorgeous flower arrangements in a couple places. It was a fantastic week and are so grateful to have had the opportunity to stay here.

Down East Stay

The property at Lighthouse Point is wonderful. The deck is a great place to just sit and enjoy the ocean in front of you. Loved (and used) the Welcome Book. Fully equipped kitchen also got lots of use cooking local seafood. We had a wonderful stay. It truly is a piece of paradise!

A Little Taste of Heaven

This was our second time staying at this location and we wouldn't hesitate to come back again. The house offers a private, secluded setting with ocean waves lapping along the shoreline right in the backyard. The owners and care taker keep the house immaculately clean and organized. The house is full of amenities (including a stocked kitchen) for a comfortable stay and is sweetly decorated with many pieces from local artists. There are fun decoration surprises through out the house. The welcome book is packed with suggestions and ideas for a fun filled week of activities and restaurants. Another plus is the town of Prospect harbor is quiet and peaceful.

Our favorite place

This place is beyond wonderful! We have been coming here every summer for the past few years and as soon as we get here all of our cares and worries are washed away, as we ease into relaxation and truly special days of reading on the magnificent porch overlooking the waves as they crash into the rocks. We love to walk down to the rocks and watch the water- throughout the day, the light on the water changes, as do the waves with the tide. It’s so relaxing! The house itself is so clean and cozy, with everything you could need or want and the hosts are awesome and responsive. We always appreciate the homemade bread and bottle of wine they leave for us! We have come to know the local area and have our favorite places to eat, love the library and other charming aspects of the area. Such a great location for access to the Schoodic Peninsula- a beautiful part of Acadia - and if you want to go to the main part it’s an easy drive. Now we start counting the days until our next visit….thank you Sally and Bob!!!

Bliss on the Schoodic Penninsula!

Yes, it's a bit removed from the hustle and bustle of MDI, but that's what makes it so special! This house has EVERYTHING. Such gorgeous views, the sound of the waves, the beautiful windows, the perfectly outfitted kitchen. If you want a slice of Maine heaven within easy reach of MDI, this is it!

Perfect getaway

This stay was perfection from start to finish. The host was incredibly helpful and accommodating. I’ve never stayed in a rental with a better equipped kitchen, which was great for us as we love to cook. The setting is stunning. We had an amazing time kayaking in the area with great seal and dolphin sightings. A vacation to remember!

Special stay!

We really enjoyed our stay at Sally's home! The house itself and property are beautiful and incredibly private. The home is thoughtfully decorated, comfortable and had everything we needed, and more, for our stay. We really enjoyed starting and finishing each day out on the deck or yard with the ocean views. The house is in a great location for exploring the quieter side of Acadia and surrounding areas, without all the crowds. Sally gave us an excellent list of recommendations for places to eat but also for hikes, beaches, shops, ect. This was a very comfortable place to stay with our dog - and the area is extremely dog friendly - including the national park. We would love to come back for another stay!

WOW!

Words just can't describe this place! From the minute you arrive you realize very quickly you're someplace very special! So peaceful sitting out back with a glass of wine soaking in the views and the environment! Every day we sat out and watched lobster boats, loons, and seals in the cove! You have to use the binocular to watch the seals but you CAN see them! All day every day! One day a bald eagle flew by right in front of us! House was beautiful and clean! Spent days hiking at Acadia at Schoodic, golfing at Grindstone Neck GC 10 minutes away, which I highly recommend, relaxing at private Sand Cove Beach just five minutes away and visiting Acadia and Bar Harbor for hiking and shopping! Thanks Becky and Bob for sharing your "piece of heaven" with our family! We'll be back!
