Cabin was cozy for a two night stay for my family. Fireplace was nice and warm for the cooler nights. Kids loved the toys. The fall colors were in prime!

This was a good central location for everything we wanted to see. It is isolated, but has excellent wifi and views. Enjoyed all the neighbors. This was a very neat, cozy, and clean place. Love the fully stocked kitchen

The updated kitchen was beautiful, well-stocked, very functional, with a lot of storage. We cooked breakfast every morning. The lake was beautiful. We spent a lot of time outdoors. Every family member caught a fish (mom, dad, and two teenage boys)! The property was exactly as advertised and we had absolutely no problems or concerns. We loved it!

Cozy cabin vibes right on the lake. We loved our stay. The kayaks were a major plus. The updated kitchen had everything we needed. The new AC unit was definitely a nice relief. They now also have firewood for sale if you want a fire. The rooms were comfortable and the kids loved all the toys available. Side note in case you are going with more than one adult group. The main bedroom and the side bedroom share a closet that doesn’t have full walls. This was interesting but not a dealbreaker. The kid in the side room just had to deal with the light (coming from our room) on after her bedtime. This is the 2nd time we stayed and we will definitely be back.

Thanks for the thoughtful review Rebecca! We are designing with our remodel crew to reconfigure to have a separate hallway to the bath and bedroom! Same carpenter who did the kitchen remodel. Stay tuned, hoping to tackle that project this winter so it will be ready for next season. Until then, its maintaining the cozy cabin vibe!

Great up north cabin, has a nice beach but the lake is kinda mucky near the house, but found nice sandy spot at one of the public campsites nearby, great proximity to trails for riding and great property for hanging out and enjoying the outdoors

Great location, wonderful time!

Michigan family vacation

Our family had a wonderful time at this cabin. The backyard area with the bar was the perfect spot to hang out as a family and enjoy the lake. I would recommend this place to families w children of all ages.

Great little cabin. My kids loved going out in the kayaks. It was nice to have internet that worked so well.. especially since our cell service was sparse in that region. The little kids also loved all of the toys to play with.The lake was peaceful. Beautiful area.

Great lakehouse!

My family loved our stay at the Kidd Lakehouse! There was lots of activities for the kids and for adults. Communication was really good with any questions we had. We would definitely book again!

The cleanest VRBO stay I’ve experienced by a mile. The owners stay there 1/2 the time so it’s well cared for and spotless. So many games, great outdoor space etc. Zero bugs, paddle boat, kayaks all free of charge to use which was so nice. The lake is muck-bottom in that part but it’s easy enough to find sandy shores paddling a little ways out. Host was very responsive, clear view of the Milky Way, remote and lovely. Great hiking in the area as well as attractions. Good jumping off midway point between Munising/superior and Lake Michigan. Things I didn’t like were the water was very irony- bring your own bottled. There was also no dishwasher or washing machine. That gorgeous updated kitchen fooled me into thinking there would be one but it is truly an up north cabin. Not much closet space, could use more hooks and hangers. Like others have mentioned, you can see from one adult bedroom into the other. There was an issue with the freezer and fridge being ajar when I arrived but I fixed the freezer part. The fridge door needed to be pushed on hard to make sure it closed. I also bought s’mores stuff but could not find any skewers/metal fire fork things so went without. I’m used to there being cooking spray, water if it’s undrinkable, and basic salt and pepper at places like this but the hosts ask you not to use “pantry items” so I’m not sure if that is included - BYO. A great, relaxing trip - loved the critters of the UP book and guide-book/binder/pamphlets!

Aww thank you Mikala for the thorough review! It helps future guests really get a feel for our place prior to a stay. Trust me, I am as disappointed as you with no dishwasher lol... but with the hard water, contractor recommended skipping it. We will be making updates to our check in/out instructions because we welcome everyone to use seasonings etc, but I can see how that was misunderstood. I will be rewording that to state only our food items in the top pantry are reserved. Again, thank you for the thoughtful review, this helps us improve every year! <3

UP base camp

My family loved staying at this cabin while we explored parts of the U.P. The cabin was very clean and very kid friendly. So peaceful and quiet! We would definitely recommend this cabin, especially if you have children.

Very clean and spacious
