Spent the last 2 holidays at this VRBO. This place has everything. There is so many rooms, that you dont feel like you're on top of each other. We already have it booked for Easter.
We stayed at Allen House while in town for a baseball tournament. Our bracket games were held at fields in the neighborhood, about a mile from the home. The Field of Dreams movie site was about 10 minutes away. You can easily walk to several restaurants or the beautiful church in town. The house itself has plenty of space for a larger family to spread out and explore. I could even see a few families being able to stay here together. It was really cool that they had an upright piano and banjo. Shower was clean, water is plenty hot. I didn’t find a hair dryer so bring it you need.We only used one of the bedrooms and the bed was very comfortable. The kitchen is large and clean. There are a lot of doors that open to the exterior but not all have a lock or chain you can secure from the inside. I would have felt safer if they did. There is a door to a basement and attic that we didn’t go into, but I would have liked if those were bolted as well. And windows don’t all stay open, so if you want fresh air in the house you’ll need to prop them up. Not that big of a deal for an older house, but something to note.We could get any of the tvs to connect to cable, dish, antenna, WiFi or streaming. DVD player didn’t work. Not a huge issue for us, we just watched on our phones, but may make a difference for some.We had hopes to play some catch in the front yard, but there was so much dog poop. Needs to be attended to.Overall a nice place, I would stay again.
Our stay was fantastic! This home is warm and welcoming. Well appointed with what you need for a weekend in Dyersville. Very spacious home and the kitchen is updated.

We enjoyed hosting Karin and her family for Christmas. They were respectful guests and left a clean home. We welcomed them back anytime.
We really enjoyed everything about our stay…but the property is a little tired (to be somewhat expected due to the age of the home) and could use a deep clean. Great walking location…close to downtown, the beautiful cathedral and nice walking trails. Hosts were very responsive when we had questions about the TV.
The house was perfect. We had so much fun at the Field of Dreams and watching the movie at the house. The kitchen could use a few more utensils, but otherwise, it was absolute dream. Beds were comfortable and there was plenty of room to spread out.
The property was very nice. We had plenty of space and enjoyed the feeling of the old home. The house is located close to downtown, so we enjoyed morning walks to breakfast downtown, church and the park. Owner was very responsive and access house was very easy. We will definitely stay again on our next visit to Dyersville!
Had a great time exploring Dyersville with some high school buddies and their wives.
House was just as posted, and a short walk to town which was perfect. Ten minute drive to Field of Dreams.
Our stay in Dyersville was great! This house is a great size for a group/family. Plenty of room to spread out. Love the back porch and grill as well as the front porch and rocking chairs. We were in town for a baseball tournament and the location was perfect for getting everywhere we needed to be, the movie site, the Basilica, downtown shops and restaurants. Kitchen was well appointed, and beds were comfortable. Loved the historic charm and the safe neighborhood. Would definitely recommend this as a place to stay when coming to the Field of Dreams!
Beautiful historical home that met the needs of our stay for our daughter’s wedding. Very spacious - we utilized rooms for an office, hang out area, kitchen and cooking needs, three of the five bedrooms, and dining room. 2 king beds and 1 queen bed were very comfy. Did not use full bed or triple bunk bed room. We highly recommend this property. Wish we had more time to enjoy the house during our busy week.
Bathroom had hole and view behind the drywall. Empty fireball bottle with the remains of someone’s spitting chew in the bedroom. If you are into very old historical houses then you would enjoy the property.
The property is beautiful! The house is just amazing. It was even decorated for Christmas in several rooms, which made it even more special. It was the perfect size for our family and we were able to host a wonderful NYE dinner and play games. There are plenty of things to do and spaces to spread out and enjoy time together. Multiple TVs so not fighting over what to watch. The kids even loved the piano. The kitchen has everything you need to cook a full dinner. Plenty of bedrooms and everyone had tons of space to feel at home. It was the perfect location near the church, we just walked to mass! Thank you for sharing your home with us
We enjoyed the house and front porch. The bedrooms were comfortable and the bathrooms adequate. It was very cleaned and stocked pretty good in kitchen. Found the Field of Dreams dvd but couldn’t get the dvd attached-would have been nice to have that already hooked up.
Wish the side yard was cleaned up a little more-imagined it would be really pretty without all the dead leaves. Too many flies and wasps to enjoy the back back porch.
Our daughter and her part of the bridal party stayed the night and then had hair and make-up done at the house. We also had photographs taken in the beautiful yard. The house was spacious and well kept. The girls enjoyed sitting outside on the cute furniture on the deck in the evening.
Thank you for sharing your home with us. We had a fantastic time visiting Dyersville for a baseball tournament and thoroughly enjoyed the stay at the home.
