The Drooly Bear is a secluded log cabin getaway in the woods. Just a few miles from Trough Creek State Park Headquarters, this rustic, romantic vacation destination will allow you to escape the rat race and enjoy each other, your family, and nature.

As you decompress on the deck, you'll enjoy the peace and quiet of the woods. If it's raining, enjoy the sound of the rain as it falls while you sit in the swing under the covered portion of the deck. If it's chilly, go inside and get cozy near the wood burning stove or play a game or two in The Loft.

Get your exercise by hiking the numerous trails in Trough Creek State Park or playing at Raystown Lake. Enjoy fine dining at Mimi's in Huntingdon (about 35 minutes away) or grab a sandwich at a local sandwich stop or country store.

Whether it's a family vacation, a reunion of friends, or a romantic weekend, you'll enjoy the peace and quiet away from every day life and be able to rest, relax, and recharge. Come and enjoy the Drooly Bear.

Please be respectful to my caretaker and leave the cabin as you found it. A $150 fee will be applied if excessive cleaning is required.

We had a great time at the cabin surrounded by amazing ferns. Matt, our host, was very communicative, professional, and kind. He responded to our needs immediately and answered all of our questions effectively. Wifi was strong, which was great because we did not have any cell service. We loved the wood stove during our chilly, rainy weekend!

Great and well appointed cabin, good location for checking out Lincoln Caverns. Helps to know how to operate a wood stove if you're going during the cold time of year (we did and had no issue with it). Would definitely book again.

We stayed at Drooly Bear Cabin while visiting my son at Juniata. The cabin had many amenities that suited us. Pet friendly being one of them. The overall place was clean and host had AC units installed with warmer weather over the weekend. Host was great to work with and very accommodating. Would recommend this place to anyone visiting Raystown Lake area.

The cabin was so dirty that we did not stay there. Stains on the carpets, cobwebs, dust in the bathrooms, the place was very dark , and had a bad smell. The light switches had scotch tape markings and some of the lights didn't work. When we asked for a refund , the owner told us we went to the wrong cabin. He said it was cleaned before we got there. Do not trust this person.

Hi Margaret. We are sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations. In our pre-arrival communications, including the phone call we make before each stay to review final details, we encourage every guest to contact us immediately - day or night - if anything is not as expected so that we can investigate and address concerns right away. In this case, we were first notified after the property had already been vacated, which unfortunately did not provide an opportunity to inspect the reported issues or attempt to resolve them during the reservation. When concerns were raised, we requested additional details and photos so we could better understand and investigate the situation, but no photos or documentation were provided. We take cleanliness seriously, and the cabin had been cleaned and prepared prior to arrival. Our cabin is a rustic mountain property in the woods near Raystown Lake and may not be the right fit for every traveler. We remain committed to providing a positive experience for our guests and are always available to assist whenever concerns are brought to our attention during a stay.

My group stayed for a winter weekend and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The cabin was larger than expected and well equipped for all our needs. The wood burning stove was amazing and there was plenty of wood for a long weekend. We enjoyed hiking in Trough Creek State Park and the Cassville Country store. Matt the host is on point, would recommend the Drooly!

We had a wonderful stay at Drooly Bear Cabin! A few highlights of our stay was that there was plenty of room, it was clean, many things were provided (firewood, towels, linens, etc), and the owner was very nice and went out of his way to check on us to see if there was anything else we needed. The location was also great being very close to State Game Lands and to Raystown lake (10 min. drive).

Matt was a great host and it was a breeze to communicate with him before and during the stay. Although we were not able to take full advantage of it, he let us to check in early and check out late. The cabin was as described, a great place to get away!

There were 15 of us, so our family filled up the cabin. Not all the beds were comfortable, but the host was very helpful & accomodating if we needed anything. The kitchen was well supplied. It was a great place to make good memories! Lots of space for activities: soccer in the driveway area, a campfire, group games in the living room area, hiking nearby, etc.
