Kathy was great, extremely responsive, and the house was perfect. Well taken care of, with so much to do inside on a cold weekend. My family had the best time and my son already wants to go back! Highly recommend a stay here!
We had an amazing weekend. House was perfectly located and very functional. It was a beautiful time of year to enjoy the foliage and views of the lake. I highly recommend this property. We were very satisfied.
This property was perfect for our trip. It had everything we needed for 7 guys on a weekend motorcycle trip. the view of the lake is awesome! The communication with the owner was the best i’ve had with any other VRBO. She truly cared that we enjoyed our stay and it showed. I will definitely come back with my family.
This home was perfect for our Christmas holiday! We relocated to NC from Dallas in 2019 and have many friends and family in the area, so it was so nice to have a large open living room space for gatherings! Kathy was extremely responsive to answer any questions. It did snow during our stay (which the Texas grandkids were thrilled to experience, sledding and snow angels!) The driveway was shoveled and salted the night before and driveway was plowed promptly in the morning. I would definitely stay here again!
We stayed at this lovely home for my daughter's college graduation
The home was great! Everything was clean and welcoming! The views were fantastic, the bar area in the basement was perfect for everyone to hangout. The owner was awesome to work with and extremely responsive extremeresponsive
This was a great home for our family!! Plenty of space to spread out, fun games, and easy lake access! We drank our coffee on the deck each morning, and enjoyed fires in the fire pit each night. Don’t hesitate to stay here, you’ll make great memories.
We traveled from out-of-state for a family funeral. Kathy’s house was perfect as it had plenty of room for my family. The view was beautiful and calming and we loved the big deck. The large family room was excellent for an small family get-together. Highly recommend!
We had a great stay, and would come back. Ours was a multigenerational gathering and everyone was pleased. Kathy is easy and prompt to work with. Terrific location, the porch overlooking the lake and the number of sizable bedrooms set this apart. Better stocked kitchen than 95 percent of short term rentals. It’s a very minor thing but we could only get basic, local channels and no cable (ie no ESPN) if that’s important to you. It was only a nice to have, as the real star is being out on the deck and overlooking the lake. We didn’t use it with young kids but the fire pit seemed great. We’ll be back.
The house worked out well for our family. Our only complaint is the downstairs bedrooms were hot at night.

Liked: Check-in, location
Disliked: Cleanliness
The location was good with easy access to the lake. Great place for a firepit. The house was filthy. The ice maker was frozen, the sponges on the sink were dirty, the carpet was dirty, the microwave and Barbecue were never cleaned. The closets had screens, and junk so were not usable. The game room was advertised with a pool table that was not there. And the master bathroom sink was blocked and did not drain. When I called Kathy she agreed to come over which she did the next morning and cleaned the microwave, and the rusted barbecue grill but not side shelf. She told us to put liquid Plummer down the sink. When she left the sink was sill clogged.

All of her concerns have been addressed, as detailed in the attached documentation. I personally visited the property to clean and resolve the issues she raised.
While I was unclogging the sink, her husband entered the bathroom and confronted me in a manner I found concerning. At the end of the interaction, he stated that nothing I did would make them happy.
In response to the concerns, I purchased new sponges and a cutting board. The carpets were shampooed while she was present, and I also cleaned the grill and removed the outdoor ashtray.
Additionally, none of the house rules were followed during their stay. The trash was not taken to the curb, the dishwasher was left full, and the laundry had to be removed & addressed as part of the cleanup.
Communication with host was excellent. We arrived for check in 4 hours after snow had stopped, driveway was in process of being plowed. After plowing, the driveway remained a sheet of packed snow and ice. After many conversations with the host, she stated that by law she has 48 hours to remove snow and ice. Therefore, I would not recommend renting this property when there is any chance of snow. ( or you will end up shoveling and salting the driveway yourself like we had to). Probably an enjoyable rental in the summer.

Jeff is partially correct it was not snowing in his area 4 hours before he called me yelling that the driveway was not cleared. I explained that we were north of him and were still in a snow storm in northeast PA. He advised someone drove by the property and called to tell him it wasn't cleared. I assured him that I have someone contracted to remove snow and that he should have a safe drive. He then called me when he arrived yelling that they were clearing the snow now and why was it not cleared hours prior. He advised that they were only clearing the snow at this time. I apologized and advised that I did let him check in EARLY and we were in the middle of a snow storm. He became louder yelling that these conditions were not fit for his elderly parents. Again I advised I do not have control of the weather and in PA you have up to 48 hours for snow removal and if my snow removal company who was there plowing as he was yelling did not do a good enough job I would personally drive up after my son's Christmas concert. This guest was unhappy prior to arrival and at arrival. I do not recommend renting to him as I tried to be as accomodating as possible and his behavior was unprofessional.
Rental was perfect for our 3 day family stay. It was quite cold and snowy outside during our visit and the heated 1st floor was so nice! Living room was cozy with lots of seating. Kitchen was great for making a few meals. If there is anything specific you need to cook bring it as it's a rental and you never know if what you need will be there. Third floor bedrooms were very quiet. This was quite nice as half of our group were night owls.
Communication with the owner was excellent! Had a few questions and always got a prompt reply. We will for sure be return guests!
This is the second time we have stayed in this house when visiting from out of state.
The house has five bedrooms and 3 1/2 bathrooms and it’s an excellent gathering place. It is one of the few houses at Harvey’s Lake that is accessible for my 89 year old aunt who has severe walking limitations.
Great place to enjoy the lake. Basement is great festive area

Hello I am so glad for your to share in our wonderful get away. I am from PA. I went to West Chester for my undergrad. Villanova for my paralegal and Wilkes for my MBA. My kids are now teenagers and we all enjoy the water. This property was just purchased and so much time and love has gone into making this spot perfect.
Why they chose this property
Harvey's Lake is the perfect place to enjoy all seasons long. The view from the house shows the beautiful lake and it is gorgeous whether the sun is coming up or going down. It is serene and tranquil all while being a few short minutes from Dallas where there are many places to eat and also a small drive to the local ski resorts in the winter. Summer the lake is filled with people and spring and fall there are tons of fishing tournaments.
What makes this property unique
This house has space and character. Plenty of little nooks to hang together or have privacy. Most of house has been redone since the short time period that we have had it since October. It is full of character and pleny of space to spread out.
Calm view of the lake. Ski resort a short trip away; shopping; state park; hiking up the back of the yard with the top boasting a beautiful view of the lake after the climb. 189 feet in the back belong to the property
