The hiking trail was perfect for my 2 little kiddos. The property was gorgeous. The cabin was clean. The host was very responsive and stopped in to give us some extra towels. We’ve stayed at a lot of cabins. And we’ll be returning to this one. It was great. The front and back porch were huge and clean and great to watch the rain.
This is the perfect place to have a quiet nature vacation. The house was well-equipped and comfortable. The property outside has lots of space and trails to enjoy. The first half of the week had snow and we played in it for three days. Then it melted and revealed lots of trails and the pond that we really enjoyed. Highly recommend.
John was very welcoming and hospitable. The property was private and allowed our dogs and four boys to run and be wild without disturbing anyone. The pond was great for fishing and the cabin was very clean and well stocked. Even though the cabin was not set up for small children, it was child proof enough that we could relax even with four boys under the age of 7. The only potential improvement would be having the wooded trails cleaned up a bit and providing a map or description so we had a better idea of where the trails went. With young kids, we need an idea of how long we’ll be hiking to prepare properly. Otherwise everything was perfect.
The cabin was great. had everything we needed. recliners were a good touch. Nice kitchen, good bed, loved the front and back porch. Very relaxing. Everything was nice and clean. Thank you for your hospitality, John.sincerely,Kyle
A Peaceful Escape at Carol’s Cabin in the WoodsWe couldn’t have asked for a more peaceful and charming getaway than our stay at Carol’s Cabin in the Woods. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that John has poured a lot of love and thought into every detail. The cabin itself was spotless, cozy, and well-equipped with everything we needed—from a fully stocked kitchen to comfortable beds and thoughtful touches throughout. We especially loved the wraparound porch that let us take in the sights and sounds of nature at every turn. The setting is truly serene. Surrounded by tall trees and tucked away from the noise of the world, the only sounds we heard were birdsong, a distant owl at night, and the rustle of leaves in the breeze. Whether sipping coffee in the morning mist, roasting marshmellows in the firepit, or fishing in the lake, we felt completely renewed.John was a gracious host—responsive and kind. The hiking trails on the property and scenic drives made it easy to explore the beauty of Hoosier National Forest. If you’re looking to unplug, recharge, and reconnect with nature (or with each other), this cabin is a hidden gem. We’re already talking about when we can return.
Very quiet and nice getaway from Gary, Indiana area for kids and adults. We wish we had more time to spend at your property. My son and grandson would like to return during deer hunting.
My small group wanted to relax in a quiet setting and Carol’s cabin was perfect. Extremely clean, well-provisioned, quiet and private with a beautiful property to stroll around. Would definitely come back!
Beautiful landscape and pond! We loved fishing and the kiddo's loved running around. I wouldn't advertise this as a 4 bedroom. It's a 3 bedroom with a pullout bed in the living area. We were dismayed about that, but made it work. LadyUnfortunatelytherewerehundreds of of
We wanted to get away for a bit and we hit the jackpot with this place! It was very clean, well stocked and a beautiful property. You can definitely tell that the property is well kept and maintained. We loved hiking the trails with our dogs. The scenery is beautiful! If you want a peaceful, relaxing experience to unplug and enjoy God’s creation, or quality time, this is your place! We definitely will return to in the future!
This was an excellent opportunity for our family to gather for the weekend after not seeing one another for a year. It was a peaceful location and enjoyed hiking in the woods. The cabin was very clean & welcoming and well stocked.
We met friends here to tour along the Ohio River on motorcycles. We all loved this cabin. The big, well stocked kitchen was large enough for all of us. The bedrooms had room for all our stuff. A couple of our friends loved walking the beautiful property each morning.
Each evening we all sat out on the fantastic front porch for hours enjoying the peace and quiet and catching up with each other and enjoying a bottle of wine our host gave us.
John, our host, told us of a local road to ride and it was a great ride. We decided we will come back next time later in the fall when leaves have changed. Really anytime of year this cabin would be a perfect choice.
This cabin was perfect for our needs. We had 4 children with us - 15, 12, 8 and 8. They all loved the pond. I had to pull the boys away from fishing at the pond to even get them to eat! Would highly recommend this cabin to anyone needing a get away from reality week (or weekend).
Wow! What a great place! Very comfortable, so much to do! We explored the property daily, had bonfires, made big breakfasts, grilled everynight. Highly recommend
The property was picture perfect as was the cabin. The host came by to visit and brought us a bottle of wine. We would recommend this place to anyone wanting to spend quality time with family while unplugging and relaxing.
Exactly as advertised. Great spot for a family getaway. So peaceful and beautiful. Easy drive to downtown Vevay for restaurant and shopping options.
Really enjoyed being able to take my dog on a walk through the woods. We spent many hours around the firepit in the backyard.
We would absolutely stay here again.
