Thank you so much for such a lovely review. Hope to have you stay again.!
Delightful experience. A perfect home base for adventures around the island for 2 adults and 2 elementary aged kids. Great recommendations of places to go. The street is beautiful for morning walks.
The location of this property is excellent. We were able to walk down to see the harbor, walk to dinner, it's close to the trails we wanted to explore in SW Harbor, a great location on the "quiet side". We had a great dinner at Beal's (walking distance) and took an amazing lobstering and seal boat tour out of Dysart's Marina, down the street. We would definitely stay in this area again. The house itself was okay, we spent minimal time there as we were out exploring everyday. There were a few closets which would have provided great storage but they smelled musty/mildewy so we did not use them. The bathroom is very much needing updates. It was not the most comfortable but again the location was amazing.

I am sure you were very upset that we did not allow your dog to stay in the cottage as we do not allow pets! I am sure you will have a much more positive experience in the future if you are honest about who is in your party at the time you make your reservation..
Really enjoyed this cottage and location! Easy to get to Acadia and bar harbor, but southwest harbor in itself was a great location. Walking distance to great breakfast, dinner, and shops.
The location alone is a wonderful reason to rent this place - so close to Beal’s, we ate there twice, and a lovely neighborhood for walking, with town just steps away. But on top of that, it was a good and comfortable home base for exploring the area. We had all we needed, and loved that we could stay with our dog.

So happy you enjoyed your stay!
Thank you for your lovely review.
The house was very nice...clean, well equipped, and in a great spot. Being able to walk down to the shops, restaurants, ice cream, etc in Southwest Harbor was great. Our host Gary let us know about the popovers in the morning at the Common Good...delicious, especially with the blueberry jam. The tranquility of being on the "quiet side" was well worth the drive over to many of the main attractions on the east side of the island. Gary gave us a good tip to park at Hulls Cove and take the bus to get to some spots where parking is tough. Side note: getting a car pass to the Cadillac Mountain sunrise was challenging because you had to get online right at 10:00 AM for a sunrise pass two days later; we were usually out and about (not with great cell reception) at 10:00 most mornings. Being able to stream on the TV would have been nice. The one thing that impacted the trip negatively was that the host's small dog basically attacked me shortly after we arrived when Gary recommended I put my bike in their adjoining back yard. I ended up with bloody dog bites on both lower legs that are still healing. Gary was very apologetic but it was not the way to start a vacation.

Quiet street location; easy to walk to both dining and shopping. Also easy to drive to other areas of interest. Hosts had lots of books and other literature about the area available to read; they were very friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay again and highly recommend this cottage.
Tidy, clean, very convenient to Southwest Harbor without being in the thick of it. We were in Acadia in the heart of tourist season and yet we didn't feel the brunt of it in this cabin.
My two teenage daughters and I had a wonderful stay in this cottage in Southwest Harbor. Both the owners and the accommodations were absolutely lovely! Highly recommend!
The property was perfect for our stay. Marilynn was wonderful and even helped with our dogs when we were out! The only negative is our stay wasn’t long enough!
We enjoyed our time in southwest harbor. Beautiful area! Nice to be away from all the hustle and bustle of the park. Would recommend the cottage for friends and family when they plan to come this way.
Our family enjoyed our week at the cottage. Marilynn is a perfect hostess and her cottage fit all our needs. Southwest Harbor is a perfect getaway. Great restaurants and the location is ideal. Would recommend to any small family looking to escape for awhile.

We are So happy the location worked out for you. We are not used to having chefs at the cottage: so, I apologize for the lack of knives you wanted. We will have to look into that!
The property was exactly as described in the listing. Great location in a quiet area. Great neighborhood to walk our dog. Marilynn and Gary were amazing hosts and very responsive. I will stay here again next time I return to Maine.
This cottage was perfect for our family of 4. Wonderful location, within walking distance to the marina and many restaurants. Clean and safe area with so much to do near by. We enjoyed staying in southwest harbor which is very close to the park, butich less busy then Bar Harbor.
The hosts are helpful and have everything we needed for a comfortable stay.
