The host is absolutely wonderful and the house is so very cute. My wife and I rented it for Thanksgiving and it was decorated for the holiday which was a lovely touch. We will definitely stay again in the future!
Charming antique property full of character with private backyard, minutes to everything in Old Saybrook. Note- bedrooms half bath are upstairs along with lovely family room, full bath with shower is down. Property was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed our stay!

Our host was very nice. The cottage was nicely decorated for Christmas, however, there was a terrible smell in the house that hinted of vermin. I also saw a mice dropping on a chair. We cut our stay short. The kitchen had stronger odor. It was disappointing because the house itself reminded me of the movie The Holiday.

So when we went in to clean as we do between every guest, there was no odor, and or traces of mice. However, due to the age of the house, an occasional, Field mouse can enter anywhere. We are sorry that you did not contact us. Because we do have a monthly maintenance crew that comes out to check the area. We do not like to leave toxins around the house as we do allow guests to have pets. We have not in the past, experience any kind of issues!
And it would have been kind of you to let us know.
Thanks
