In The Heart of La Jolla
This place is all about location and room for a large group.
We stayed 5 nights and chose this rental due to location and ocean views.
There were only 2 of us, so waw more space than needed.
We did have some issues with the lack of detail on instructions received prior to arriving.
There is a small gate when you get to the courtyard and access to the front door, which had a lock code handle. We tried the combination several times which didn't work. Since it's a very low gate, we used the inside handle which got us to the front door. The code given to us was for the front door (not the first gate). Instructions on this would have been helpful.
When we got inside, we heard a fire alarm beeping (due to low battery) In the master bedroom upstairs. Since it was late, we decided to call the host in the morning. We choose another bedroom which had a lovely ocean view. Like most of the home, it is very bare bones. Unfortunately, the bed had no side tables on either side of the bed. This seemed in theme of the house being 'bare bones'. Kitchen was adequate. Living Room was a bit stark.
The property comes with a parking space, which is definitely needed in the area, especially weekends. Parking spot is located appx 2.5 blocks from unit in a public garage. It was very confusing as the address given isn't the street that the entrance is on. We had to call after a bit of frustration. This could have been easily avoided if on the instructions this would have been noted or mentioned.
Overall we enjoyed our stay. You just can't beat the location (many shops and restaurants ) which we thoroughly enjoyed.
