Iconic Landmark House Unit next to the beach- Panoramic Ocean/Coastal Views!

An ocean front landmark house designed by a famous designer, remodeling recently. The windows, and floors are replaced last month. Next to the attraction of La Jolla cove. Walking distance to restaurants, museum, beaches, galleries and stores in La Jolla village. It is the best location in La Jolla. A historical house with many upgrads. If you are looking for best location, convenience , and oceanfront , here is the place for you.

This house is divided into two units with its own entrance and privacy. The two units are totally independent except sharing the laundry and garage as well as air condition temp controller. The garage can fit a SUV or Stand car for each unit. Both can reserved for the same period of time if available. Good for family reunion and wedding. The upstair unit 2 ID is VRBO 2786466. If you want to rent whole house , you need to booking both units.
We have added soundproof material and redone the floor on the upstairs unit to reduce the noise from upper level.
Both units share the same laundry with one washer and two dryers.
No party unless other unit is vacant.
It is by the ocean, you smell ocean and hear the sounds of waves. It is not perfect as luxury five star hotel rooms but you can cook and BBQ with the view of ocean.

This unit (unit 1) is downstairs part of the house with exclusive use of the main entrance, sharing the garage, the laundry and the backyard with upper stair unit.
This unit consists of a living room, a kitchen, a dining room, a larger master bedroom (bedroom 1) with a king bed with its own full bath, a bedroom (bedroom 2) with a queen bed, and a smaller bedroom (bedroom 3)with two single beds for kids and a three quarter bathroom.
The master bedroom (bedroom 1) comes with a den equipped with a futon sofa bed, full size bathroom and a large deck with BBQ stove of ocean and coast view.
Bedroom 2 with ocean view comes with a balcony of ocean view.
The small size bedroom 3 has two single beds for kids with view of the side yard.
In living room, there is a futon bed.

What a great house to rent for the week! Pretty much fully stocked. Kitchen had all the utinsils you could think of. Fully stocked bathrooms and lots of towels. Beds were all super comfortable. You absolutely cannot beat the view. We will definitely be booking again. The rooms have some weird configurations but it's totally doable. The master is wonderful with its own private patio and full bathroom. Second bedroom has an incredible view via windows and another small patio looking over the ocean. Other rooms are a small converted closet or office maybe with a single twin but the view is stunning. There's another very small room with two twin beds and no room for much more. It connects to to a shared laundry for the upstairs apartment. I would recommend taking the upstairs unit also and we will try to do so next time also. There were people above us walking around like elephants with the TV on super loud. Def not the owners fault but the upstairs unit is very loud, you can hear everything. The parking garage is tight and I would recommend to the owners just designating a side to each rental to prevent confusion when the units are both rented. It will fit two small SUV if you don't mind being tight. I'd also recommend another big and comfortable couch in the living room if possible. It isn't super comfortable and I think we would have spent more time there had there been more comfortable furniture in that room. Almost every room has a gorgeous view. We will be back soon!

The house was in a beautiful location! Can't beat the walkability and the view! Plenty of room for our family. The owner was very prompt at responding to messages! Like other reviews mentioned, the garage was small but it does fit a small crossover SVU (probably not a van or any 3 row car...).

Iconic Lampshade House - Panoramic Ocean/Coastal Views! - Constructed in 1923, this iconic landmark of La Jolla has attracted visitors from around the world. A permanent fixture on the La Jolla Historical Society's "Gems of the Jewel" acclaimed walking tour, the house has a long and prosperous history in the area.

Coined the "Lampshade House", due to the property's distinctive and one-of-a-kind design, the home is a trinity of cottages (Beach, English, and Craftsman) combined in an eclectic manner and constructed along the gorgeous Whale View Point with panoramic ocean and coastal views. Located steps north of the La Jolla Tide Pools and a short walk south from Seal Rock, this home has an exclusive location directly in the heart of the city.

The main level is highlighted by an elegant octagonal-shaped living room featuring a gorgeous chandelier and stunning views, a large formal dining area, the second master with an attached luxury bathroom and oceanfront patio, third bedrooms, two dens, a fully equipped kitchen with an attached garden patio, plus additional patios off the bedrooms for enjoying a surreal view, especially at sunset.

Next, the second level contains a spectacular master bedroom. The second octagonal-style room in the property, it features a stunning lofted ceiling design, accentuated with another beautiful chandelier, much like the living room. Panoramic views, again, surround the second level, which also features a master bathroom with a luxurious tub and walk-in shower, a large outdoor patio off the bathroom, an oceanfront balcony patio, an office, and a kitchenette.

Finally, an attached garage offers parking for two regular vehicles or SUV. Not fit truck.

The house is one block away from Bishop's school. In 2020, The Bishop's School was ranked as the No. 1 Christian high school in California, the best private high school in San Diego and the best high school for STEM.

3 minutes walking distance to newly remodeled contemporary art museum.

5 to 10 mins walking distance to La Jolla famous restaurant like George ‘s, Eddi ‘Vs, Duck, Nine Ten, Tai food, Japaness food, coffee shop etc. and retail store, gallery’s and super market.
2 to 5 mins walking to see sea lions, and seals,
