As a family we stayed for three nights. The pre-visit info was excellent, and every query answered promptly and in detail. Instructions on gaining access were accurate. The accommodation was excellent, a mix with tradition and modern. A spacious lounge / diner and well-equipped kitchen. Nice and warm with excellent heating and there is a log fire for those who fancy a “real fire”. Bedrooms are comfortable, bathrooms basic but more than adequate. The location is rural but very convenient for Arromanches and Anselles, There are restaurants and supermarkets a plenty. Easy access to main roads to go further, we managed all five beaches, Pegasus, a few military cemeteries, Pointe du Hoc and loads more without a too long drive to anywhere and there is always plenty to see as you explore. We had one minor problem with the plumbing that was resolved quickly and with no fuss or inconvenience. The experience certainly lived up to our expectations, and we will be back. 5 STAR

The host was very communicative however the level of cleanliness was not great. We had to clean bathrooms and toilets and the en-suite toilet constantly smelled of urine. The fridge door hadn’t been replaced and didn’t have a handle. The shower unit was broken however Phillips did replace. Theses things should be resolved before changeover. There was dirt under beds and chairs. Generally the property is in a magnificent position but the bathrooms and kitchen are tired and need to be upgraded. The hot tub didn’t work and didn’t look like it has worked for a while. The pool area was great with magnificent views. Overall our stay for 6 adults and one baby was satisfactory to good. The check in and information from VRBO was poor. We didn’t receive check in details despite requesting and then had to pay a deposit before the check in details were received an hour before we arrived. None of this was made clear at the time of booking. This is the second time I have used VRBO and can’t say I’m a big fan.

We stayed here for 7 nights during May half term. On arrival, we were surprised to find the accommodation is part of an estate with four other apartments, as this wasn’t mentioned on the listing. It wasn’t a major issue, but it would have been helpful to know in advance as we expected a private rental.The pre‑arrival paperwork stated there was only one parking space, which caused some stress as we were travelling with three cars (7 guests) In reality, there were actually three allocated spaces for La Glycine, which was a relief.A washing machine is listed in the amenities, but there isn’t one. The hot tub was unavailable due to damage from previous guests, and the pool needed netting before each use because of the amount of debris (dead flies, leaves, lack of maintenance etc.).The house itself felt tired and in need of some TLC. There was a musty smell on arrival, the cooker was dirty, and several maintenance issues stood out: no cupboard door on the fridge, a radiator coming away from the wall, a kettle with a taped‑up cord, and a dishwasher that tips forward when the door is open.On the positive side, the hosts were excellent. Communication before our stay was quick, friendly, and very helpful.Would we return? Possibly, mainly because of the location and ease of getting around, but we wouldn’t rush back unless the property receives some updates and general maintenance.
