We loved our stay at The Hammock. (There really is a hammock in the yard, and it's so comfortable!) The lakeside view can't be beat, and the surrounding countryside is really beautiful. Hope to visit again!
Moments after I arrived, I knew I wanted to stay longer! This tiny slice of paradise is beautifully decorated and very well equipped. I highly recommend it and will be looking for when I can return.
This place was the perfect place to get away for a few days. The tiny house is adorable and perfect for a couple. The neighborhood is quiet and safe. The location is far enough away to feel like youve "gotten away" but close enough to the city and other things that you can make an ice cream run if needed or check out Pulpit Point and the AT! Our only complaint was that the fish in the lake had no interest in biting while we were there.
So my husband and I want to live there, we were trying to figure out how 🙂It was such a retreat, even the area was a good find! We are residents of PA and had never been to that area, now we want to move there. It was an intimate setting in the great outdoors among wildlife. We loved watching the ducks, they were so entertaining. There is definitely one duck that's the outcast, we named him Freddy. When he got too close to the other ones territory the three of them sped after him and chased him away. There were fish jumping out of the lake and a creature that was swimming around, I thought it was an otter or muskrat, my husband thought it was a turtle so very different things. Our stay was just what we needed! We would definitely stay there again or buy the place if it was available 😁
Was a great stay and everything was great. Definitely is small, only negative for us was the mattress is against the wall. So you have to crawl into the inside of the mattress.
The Hammock is perfect for two! The finishing are all well thought out and beautiful. The bed is so comfortable. And the deck on the lake! Sheer perfection. The duck family is sweet entertainment. We will return for sure!! Thank you for the opportunity to stay.
What a glorious retreat! From the moment we arrived, we were thrilled with the Hammock. Marian is a great communicator, should any needs arise. We will be back!
My husband and I stayed here about 5 weeks ago and just fell in love with the cottage, the lake and the location. Our 27th anniversary was coming up so I booked it again for 3 nights (we live about 3 1/2 hrs. away). The relaxation here is just beyond compare. We explored out a little more this time and went to a beautiful winery (Blue Mt. Winery) where they have live music every Sunday 2 - 5, it was so much fun. Loved watching the ducks, hawks, fish jumping out of the water while having a morning cup of coffee. Just perfect. Thank you.
We will be staying here again. House, lake, back porch, cleanliness, decor, fishing/kayaking all absolutely as shown and amazing. Hubby must've caught 100 fish in 3.5 days! So relaxing and quiet and the best rental we have ever stayed in by FAR! Owner was wonderful and helpful and responsive right away. Very lind and friendly. We will be back in fall and hope to make this lil house our spring/fall spot for vacas indefinitely!
Excellent place, we LOVED it! Peaceful and just what we were looking for.
My husband and I were looking for a peaceful place to just relax and enjoy each other's company and nature. This was exactly what we were looking for. Every little detail was just perfect. I lighted walkway at night looked magical, the gas fireplace was so cozy, the outdoor firepit was perfect at night to make some s'mores, the kitchen was very well stocked, the bed was very comfortable, the kayaks were very much enjoyed by my husband, I could go on and on. We truly hope to get back here sometime because honestly we didn't want to leave. Thank you for sharing your very beautiful cottage.
This property is owned and managed by Ivan and Marian Zimmerman , along with our 5 children. We worked together as a family to bring 'The Hammock' to life. And as we did so we fell in love with it (: We live nearby and are available as our schedule permits.
Why they chose this property
We both grew up in Berks County and we stayed : because its home . And whats not to love? The pace is slower and the scenery is lovely . Its the perfect area for a get away. The Hammock is located in a quiet neighborhood in the countryside with a 10-minute drive to the town of Hamburg. It is located in a privately owned community surrounding a 24 acre lake.
What makes this property unique
Because of its peaceful lakeside setting you will leave this property rejuvenated !! We provide all you need for a relaxing time. The backyard has access to the lake for the supplied kayaks. (life vests provided) You will find firewood on the deck for the fire pit. The patio table on the deck is a perfect spot for dinner and a show. (the sunsets are amazing !) Please note; while there is great wi-fi , cell coverage at The Hammock is limited . You might try to drive a few minutes down the road for service or use wi-fi calling.
