We loved having a place right on the water and our kids loved having access to the kayaks. Our host, Mitch, was very responsive to the message we left him and took care of our one issue we had on the same day. Check in and out was a breeze, and we had a great stay while we visited Michigan.

The property was in a great location, and the lake was very nice and Mitch was very easy to communicate with. The house could use a deep clean and check that all the screens are in so you can open the windows.

In my estimation, this is a premier property in Michigan. It’s got a wide lake. Front view a very large deck. It’s great for entertaining.

Family Friendly Getaway

This house truly embraces everything that is “up north”. Our extended family enjoyed a long weekend together and we can’t say enough great things. It is the perfect place for all ages and such a great space for multiple families to share.

Overall the place was as listed. Could have been a 4 or 5 star but lots of little details added up to a lowered review.The biggest issue was the boat rental. We had reserved the pontoon for 2 days of our stay. The boat was damaged by previous renters and was unavailable to us. No big deal but there was no communication that it would not be available before we arrived. It was known to the owner and he did not tell us. It left us scrambling to find another rental in a small area with very limited options available. Had we known earlier we could have found one elsewhere. Very poor communication.The house overall was nice but had lots of little things wrong, especially for the price we paid. The water softener leaks/condenses all over the floor. We had two slips on the wet floor while staying. Definitely something that needed to be addressed. While everything at ground level was clean there was dust on the top of everything including the ceiling fan blades. There were large cobwebs in the majority of corners. There is no air conditioning upstairs, which is fine considering the mild weather. However, many of the windows did not have screens to keep the mosquito swarms out. Numerous windows did not open at all. Two of the room could not have open windows due to these issues.The kayaks were great, however there no life vest available for them.The wifi listed was not working. Everyone used their cell data so not a huge deal. The trash bin was full and stinking up the garage.

Mid summer getaway up north

We had 9 total guests and there was more than enough space for everyone. The size of the property is awesome for yard games and enjoying the lake views. Swimming in front of the property was great along with use of the pontoon rental. Communication with Mitch was easy with quick response times. We would gladly stay again. Thanks....

Just our annual ice fishing trip

Great access of the lake, we did not bting up machines. Walked about a mile out. Fishing was good. Great place to stay for a getaway. We really had a good time up there.

Winter Hideaway

Our stay here was fantastic. Traveling with a group of 7 can be stressful but the house had plenty of room for all of us to spread out and have our own space. The kitchen was gorgeous and roomy and had everything you could need. Beautiful view of the snow and lake. It was a wonderful home away from home and we can’t wait to book again.

A Family Thanksgiving

The Property is beautiful inside and out. We had a very special Thanksgiving holiday. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you could ever need. This is our second stay, and we will definitely stay again. The property is absolutely a gem!

Gem on Grand Lake

Every time we book this property, we have a blast! The transaction is always seamless. The property is very organized and pretty much has everything that you need for the perfect getaway. We will continue to frequent this location; We highly recommend this place for creating memories on the lake by the fire and in the home!

My favorite getaway

We have stayed here several times and it never disappoints. The house is perfect for a larger family like mine. Stocked with everything you could need, it feels like walking into my second home. Large enough that everyone can have their own space but with cozy living and dining areas that everyone can gather in. Mitch is always so welcoming and is quick to respond when I reach out. Can’t wait to get back there in the summer!

Absolutely Perfect Getaway

Beautiful home along with beautiful property. The main living space was perfect with the wood burning stove and amazingly comfortable furniture. The kitchen is a cooks dream with open space into the dining area. We loved the sound system. The deck was big enough for our large group to enjoy together.

Family Gathering

I was looking for a VRBO that could hold 14 of us, 10 adults, 4 toddlers and an infant. This house was perfect. Clean, roomy, the kitchen had everything you could imagine you might need. The rooms were spacious, we never felt like we were on top of one another. The host was very courteous and great to communicate with. Easy to find, beautiful location, very nice lake front property. Would love to stay during the summer and take advantage of the great outdoor space the property owners have set up.

Very nice stay; one of the best!

I have been coming to Grand Lake for over 60 years. I have probably stayed in 30 or so different cottages over the years This was one of the best, and perfect for the large family group I had for this trip. Mitch, the owner, is very responsive to whatever your need might be. The cottage is very well equipped, both inside and out. Everyone in my group had a wonderful time, and we were lucky with the weather, as it only rained one day during our stay. I would highly recommend this home to anyone with a large group! I hope to stay here again in the future.

July stay

Overall, was very good. Couple of suggestions for improvement include adding a load of gravel to the long driveway to eliminate the potholes; get new outdoor furniture cushions with covers and ask the renters to cover them each night to keep the cushions dry and mildew free. Few strong positives include nice sandy swimming, fire pit area, well equipped kitchen, nice seating area in kitchen and dining, nice docking capabilities for pontoon.

Change of scenery

We work remote and wanted a change of scenery. Mitch confirmed 3 people could work with no issues and he was correct. Even though we worked during the day we had a blast after work. The frozen lake was beautiful, the house is great. Have no complaints. Thank you so much Mitch!
