If you’re looking for peace and tranquility, this is the place. Our unique home offers a relaxing & private country setting. A fun getaway w friends & family, or just to be romantic . Our new 8 person large hot tub adds some much needed relaxing time on a roof top deck. Game room & pool table fun too. Gunstock Mountain for skiing, tubing, sledding, snow shoeing, Winnipesaukee, Alton Bay are great for day trips and boating. Barnstead has many year round activities such as snowmobiling, hiking, fishing, kayaking, canoeing and lake access.
The space
This home features a ton of relaxing things to do in a very private country setting. This home has 4 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, kitchen and appliances w a cozy living room. Also has another spacious living room area for larger groups and gatherings or game night & large game room featuring a pool table also. We also have an open outdoor deck that has a large BBQ, seating and Hottub. There is also easy access to the lake where you can enjoy boating and many other water activities in the warmer months. Center Barnstead has the historic main street. The Suncook River winds through Barnstead and is made up of woodlands, lakes and agricultural fields, therefore there are many year round activities such as snowmobiling, hiking, fishing, kayaking and canoeing. The Route 28 corridor runs through the town, giving tourists easy access to the lake and mountain regions for skiing and boating. (Any large groups is subject to an up charge, prices might vary depending on number of guests).

Great property for entertaining. Rooftop deck was really cool. Plenty of places for people to sleep. Nice that youre allowed to host events as wellm everyone had a great time.

Boys Weekend

Property was perfect for our boys weekend. Upper Deck and patio is amazing and use of the grill and hot tub were awesome. Great bachelor pad for video games and hanging out. Pool table was in great condition and was a great addition. Kitchen was well stocked for cooking needs. Beds were comfortable and the house was really nice.

Not exactly what was expected

The advertisement was not exactly descriptive of the neighborhood. It seemed there would be lake access but there was a small private beach in a neighborhood someone told us was not available for visitors. The town beach neighborhood area and boat dock area was incredibly small and not a nice area for a large group. Although close to some public beaches it still required a 20 min plus drive. The hot tub had a broken jet and leaked onto the rooftop deck. There was 2inches of water on the deck leaking into the game room when we arrived and impacted us being able to use the top two amenities the roof top deck and hot tub. The house as relatively clean but could use some additional dusting/cobweb removal. The yard could use better upkeep as well. There was no book or directions that gave basic instructions such as Wi-Fi password, how to turn on the hot tub, directions to certain lake accesses etc. The host was reasonable regarding our complaints and refunded us accordingly. He was easy to get in touch with but lacked follow through. All in all we enjoyed or stay but it wasn’t exactly what we expected.

Weekend with the boys

We were looking for a house that could accommodate and entertain a nice weekend for the guys to get together and cut loose a bit. Shawn's property was perfect. The game room, movie room, and hot tub were great. All appliances worked and were new high quality systems. They even left their logins open on their streaming accounts. All in all was a great time. Would love to come back

Flooded Deck

Overall experience was fine. Our main issues we had were that the back deck was flooded the entire time (it was a known issue). It rained on Thursday and the water was there through Sunday. This caused a leak into one of the rooms where we needed three buckets the entire time to keep up with the water. The property doesn't have as much room as you think it does so yard games are limited. Propane tanks were not filled but there are a few stores less than 5 minutes away where you can get this filled and handled.

Great Location!

We rented the property for Race weekend at Loudon. The house was well-stocked and very clean. We walked to the little beach a mile down the road which is perfect for families with little kids. Any question I had, the owner got back to me right away. This place is great as a little retreat or as home-base for day trips around New Hampshire.
