Our large group appreciated all of the indoor and outdoor seating, pickleball net, all the kayaks and life jackets, Firw Pit, wildlife around the house (Turkeys, Deer, Elk, even an Otter). Overall, our group had a great time. Would highly recommend the Cabin at Woddwd River..
We really enjoyed our stay and loved the variety of things we could do along with all the equipment needed to do them. The house, river and area were fantastic.
Our family of 11 had a perfect stay at the cabin. We had ample room! It was so fun to be right on the river and watch the wildlife. We would definitely stay here again!
Great houses and property! So many games and activities onsite we barely had to leave the whole week. One downside of August was that the river out front was only 6-12" deep though. Earlier would be better for floating and swimming.
We felt so welcomed! They really opened up the place and shared all their games and swim toys! The home was beautiful in a wonderful setting! We have a daughter in a wheelchair. This was really handicapped assessable! We voted it the best place we’ve stayed at!
Kitchen has everything you could possibly want and the variety of games, toys, kayaks and things to do is wonderful. The kids loved kayaking in the river and pickleball, darts, volleyball, air hockey and hammock chairs were big hits. It was a perfect long weekend. The only thing we couldn’t find was a hair dryer and a fly swatter so we bought one.
The cabin and clubhouse are very nice and the grounds make for a lovely setting. Our group of 20 enjoyed the kayaks and tubes that are available for use on the water. We made use of the fire pit several times as well. There was plenty of room for our group to spread out and enjoy the property. All in all, we had a great time and everyone went away with good memories of our family reunion.
Excellent property for our family reunion. So many activities right on the property for our children and grandchildren to enjoy. Unfortunately the water in the river was pretty low so only our "lightweights" were able to enjoy the kayaks. We loved the many areas for visiting and used them all. The kitchen was supplied with everything we needed. We saw wild turkeys and deer every day. Wonderful memories!
Clean, spacious, lots of activities for all of us. Well stocked and equipped. Kayaks, life jackets, water flotation, water shoes, and all other that are on the description we had 19 and never felt crowded. If we ever need a big place again in the area, this would be our 1st choice. The host was excellent!
Great home and great location. The house and amenities are perfect for a family get together. Kayaks, pickleball, basketball, and playing in the river. We floated down the river nearly every day we were there. The only comment was that the water pressure in the bathrooms was spotty.
Driving into the property you experience a “oh this is going to be perfect” impression. As you walk around the property and size up the facility you say, “oh this is going to be perfect.” AND IT WAS!
Outdoor games, the lazy stream to explore, gathering rooms kitchens, sleeping rooms and restrooms all contributed to our stay.
The house has pretty much everything you need to have the best time, plenty of outdoor amenities and indoor. The kitchen was stocked well with whatever you needed to feed the whole family. There were 11 of us and we all had a wonderful time whether kayaking, playing pickleball, fishing. a night cap by the fire or watching the wildlife. We saw a herd of an Elk. Whitetail, Mule Deer, a flock of Turkeys, Geese and Ducks. The neighbors dogs Ben and Jerry visited each night we lit the bbq pit. Thank you for the memorable week highly recommend for a peaceful playful time!
This place was absolutely everything our family could have hoped for !!! SO much to do and with access to all of the toys it was just never ending fun! The float down the river was just breathtaking! Neighbor next door was so kind and helped us find the special hot springs down the road ! We will be back FOR SURE!!!!
We had all of the families here to celebrate our mom/grandma/great-grandma.
It was the ideal place to gather comfortably and enjoy the views outdoors. The younger guests appreciated the games, air hockey and foozball tables during down time. Always plenty to do!
The house was amazing. We came here for a planning meeting for one of our large clients. We do it twice a year to get out of the office and stay focused. They had all kinds of outdoor games, kayaks and anything else we might need for our off work hours.
We've rented a lot of VRBO's and this one beats them all. The location is stunning. The fish are plentiful. The kayak float was great for all ages and we discovered an awesome hot spring to soak in 6.8 miles up the road across the river. The place is stocked with so many things to do and games to play. The beds were comfortable and the layout is perfect for large groups. There was 19 of us and we all had plenty of room. Our family definitely wants to stay here again!
We planned our family reunion here. There is so much to do from kayaking the river, to playing pickleball, to card games. We stayed for a week and never ran out of things to do. It's felt very safe for the kids (as long as they can swim), we barely had to watch ours because the small neighborhood just felt so safe. We mostly just made sure we knew when the little ones were by the river. I would highly recommend this home.
Rarely can you say something is better than advertised. But our family feels this holds true for this cabin. We loved it there! Everything was so well organized and so well-equipped for many different activities. It also had a number of great gathering places. The communication with our host was excellent. We have rented houses all over the country for our family reunions. This was the best one we ever had.
The Cabin at Wooded River was perfect for our family reunion! The setting is gorgeous and the house was well-equipped with everything you could possibly need. We loved the kayaking even in spots where the river was very shallow and the adults had to push a bit with the oars. We appreciated that there was plenty of comfy seating for hanging out and talking, for the whole family for meals, extra tables and chairs for groups for playing games, and for many other activities. There was ample parking, plenty of available activities for everyone, and a beautiful, spacious lawn. We could have stayed much longer and still have had plenty to do and enjoy. It's a great place for a family reunion! We usually go to a different location each year, but might have to come back to this one!
This was a great cabin get away for a work retreat. Our group bonded so nicely. The two different cabins allowed us to spread out and have some privacy when needed, yet remain close and fully engaged as a group. The kitchen was fantastic. Stocked with spices, lots of storage for food cooked while there and had plenty of cleaning supplies for dishes! We did not run out of ANYTHING. Many cabins are limiting on toilet paper, paper towels and trash bags but not here. Comfy beds all over the cabins made for a nice and relaxing stay. Anna responded quickly to questions we had, which made our planning super easy. We are planning to return in the fall. Add this one to your must do list!
Family gathering 4 generations 1 - 82! We had the most fantastic time in an incredibly beautiful setting. Everything we could have wanted was provided and beyond expectations! Days lazing on the river, kayaks. Spending time together on the large front porch. The pickleball tournaments became pretty intense! A wonderful relaxing yet very active vacation. The beds were wonderful and super comfortable. Plenty of space for everyone. The young folks loved the projection room in the evenings. 5 star ++++. Anna, our host was so great and fun to work with. She is so responsive and helpful from booking through check out. Can't say enough about our special and memorable time! Plans to return for our next gathering! Thank you so!!
Large family reunion with ages ranging from 2 months to great grandparents at 82. We could not have picked a better place. Everyone slept comfortably, the house kitchen easily accommodated large group cooking. There are so many activities available: sitting in the river, floating it in kayaks, outdoor games, space for lots of indoor board games, s’mores in the fire pit, or just enjoying a comfortable gathering on a porch. The cement driveway was enjoyed by little kids on scooters, chalk art, basketball and pickleball in evening shade. Close by town was fun to visit, guys golfed at the resort, 4 year olds and up enjoyed a 1.5 hr river raft ride with Bear Valley guides and some enjoyed a beverage at the Dirty Shame Saloon. People drove from Illinois to attend and said they would drive that far again they loved it so much. Thanks for sharing such a wonderful place!
